Regarding the tip that made you late home. How do these blokes get through life while being so ignorant and avoiding the job they’re paid to do? They clearly knew you were there before their finish time but chose to ignore you, then the other forklift driver doesn’t acknowledge you at all? As far as having a 2 hour gap in the shifts where no one is unloading at all is just ridiculous. Treat people how you’d expect to be treated. Keep up the good work 😊
Cracking little video Luke, when I stopped driving and went into the engineering side of Stagecoach, I always made sure I offloaded any truck I could asap even if after my finishing time, probably because I’ve been on the the end of having to wait when I was trucking! Very little you can do as an employed driver to be fair. You just have to go where you're planned to go. I've known companies refuse to deliver to some places, problem here is there's always another company who won't refuse so the customer still isn't inconvenienced, they just get their stuff on a different truck.
The 'unsuitable' sign for A262 at Goudhurst is as you come off the roundabout from the A21. Blink and you miss it and there's nowhere to turn round. Nightmare
Another great video Luke.ive been on artics for over 2 years,certainly found out this isn’t for everyone,certainly isn’t for me.god only knows how I’ve managed to avoid doing any damage or crash,with the terrible skill set I have.certainly can’t call myself a truck driver despite having a licence,how anyone can deal with the amount of sh1t n nightmare scenarios I never know.one thing I’ve learned however,and that is how difficult this job can be,and thought me to respect truck drivers a lot more.wish you happy and safe trucking Luke,will keep watching your vids,class A as always 👍
Yep, 10 minutes of his time would have been all it took. And I’ll have been home by 6… Instead I didn’t get home and see my kids as they were in bed. But I chose the job I suppose.
This is why you should always charge by the hour. I remember when I had a late delivery to Clark International at Street in Somerset. It was just a parcel of documents with urgent written on it. The security said I'm too late so I'll have to redeliver it tomorrow. I said not a problem but on the way back to the van he called out, "What is it ?" I just said you've just declined the delivery so you don't need to know, then left. I redelivered next day about 11am. However, unbeknown to me, Clarke International had booked a general meeting and they needed the documents first thing for that meeting. It made my day because they had to pay twice for the delivery and they wasted their meeting which had to be adjourned. They only seem to employ those sort at Clarks village idiots.

Well bad luck with the tip at 4pm,my thought was just why your company wanted you to detour to pick up another driver when somebody in a car could have done that because it is fairly local to your yard,and then you would have been at the tip earlier and had no problems,still a great vlog .
Spotted the whole Harry & Sons fleet last Sunday afternooon on the A417 heading towards the Air Balloon. I was driving a Morrisons home delivery van at the time.
Thought I may have seen you yesterday for the first time. 15:20 just past chievley services on m4. I was going the other way. If it was you, you had a blue curtain side trailer on rather than the flatbed. It was deffo a clean white Iveco and was deffo harry and sons
When my son was about 7 years old, the mother in law sat him in front of the TV watching Sausage Party (thinking it was a kids cartoon) whilst she made his dinner, she even started watching it with him before she realised what was happening !!

@luck c in an HGV. I am currently considering obtaining my HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licence and would appreciate your advice on this matter. I have spoken to several drivers who are already in the industry and have received mixed feedback regarding the value and benefits of pursuing this qualification. Some have suggested that it is not worth the effort and investment. Given your experience and insight, I would greatly appreciate your perspective on whether obtaining an HGV licence is a worthwhile endeavour. Any guidance or information you could provide would be incredibly helpful in making an informed decision Thank you for your time and assistance.
If i were you, i would have strapped it back up and told them they will get their load monday. Its their problem. Thats what i cant understand with some of the buisnesses work ethic, over here in NZ, if you arrive before closing even 5 mins they will stay and offload you - and who knows, the drivers might have another job to go to, not just bugger off and leave a load... After all, it would take the most 10 mins to ofload.

My boss needed to pick up a trailer, the other trucks were being washed. As mine was still dirty he took mine. I would have done it but I’d run out of driving time, by “stuff” I mean tacho card. I took it out to download it whilst he took my truck. I was gonna take it home with me but he come back, so I put it back in my truck ready for Monday morning. Nothing to worry about ☺️
