When LXC decided to actually stay and die with JGY. Then JGY realized it and actually pushed LXC away.. 😭

My heart literally broke for Lan Xichen. He truly saw the good in Yao and until the end waited for the truth before he condemned him. Killing Yao destroyed him. Actually those moments were some of the most emotional for me 🤧🤧

I know JGY was an evil man, he brought so much pain and suffering in WWX and his family's life, but I also can see JGY's love to LXC was pure. I can't blame LXC for trusting JGY like a fool. During the time after WWX's death LWJ was too busy coping with his own feeling of losing WWX and almost never available for his brother. At the same time LXC was strugling to rebuilt their home and clan. JGY was there for him and he provide LXC with the help that LWJ can't provide at that time.

Meng Yao has demonstrated grey matter- not everything is black or white, evil or good.

Yao: Die with me. *Lan Xichen is closing eyes and choosing to stay.* Yao expression before pushing him: "Thank you for your love and sorry for this. Farewell, take care." Edit: Thank you for likes guys 😍☺ I probably never got so many 😅

This pained me..if only Meng Yao wasnt treated so badly I think we could have seen them have a beautiful life filled with love and happiness and I really would have been more than happy to see the other twin jade have a happy life with his beloved Meng Yao

I hate Meng Yao for his evil scheming ways. But then I see him with Xichen and wish things would have been different for him. He was loved but he could not realise it.

It hurts but yes, as you said, their relationship is interesting. I'm kind of seeing it mirroring Wangxian but in a opposite kind of way. Yet both Two Jades of Lan believed in someone close to them until the last. But Xichen's trust was broken and Wangji's only became stronger with time. Beautiful edit, btw! The song is really perfect. This is so beautiful, and I ship them so hard. Yao broke my Lan Xichen heart so bad 😩

The most surprising twist in the whole drama for me was when Meng Yao pushed Lan Xichen away from him and towards safety instead of letting him accompany him to the afterlife. I was convinced Meng Yao was just trying to gain sympathy and buy time from his peers through reciting his monologue until that moment. Instead of choosing the more self-pleasurable route and dying with a companion, he selflessly sacrifices his own gain to save a person he cares about. It wasn't until watching the show a 3rd time that I finally felt sympathetic towards him without the cloud of 'he killed shije, Jin Zixuan, Wei Wuxian et cetera' fogging up my objective vision that I finally understood that he is as much a VICTIM as Wei Wuxian himself. Imagine being raised with constant vulgarity around you and when you believe you've finally found a place to belong you are cast away like rubbish in a dumpster. Of course, you would lash out: especially with at least 32years of that same treatment hanging over your head as if it were black death. Had Wei Wuxian remained on the earth for those 16 years without a Lan Zhan or A Yuan to keep him grounded to reality, who's to say his heart would not have turned as dark as Meng Yao's. Were this story told from Meng Yao's point of view, would we have rooted for his means after seeing the bigger picture?

Their relationship was so beautifully tragic..... I feel like I had seen it coming... But I was still not prepared for that end.... Damn all hell... I was openly sobbing when he pushed him away.... 💔💔

In the book it was sad. This? This tore my heart out and ripped it apart

After I read the novel I was just like "shoulder shrugs meh" towards JGY but then CQL!JGY showed up with his dimples and BAM I'm addicted just like that

XiYao and XueXiao are the dark versions of Wangxian. I was much more interested in them in the drama, compared to the novel and donghua in which Wangxian were the leads for me. I wish JGY left for some other clan (preferably Lan) after clearing his name after Sunshot. Killed WRH, leaked Wen information and saved a Clan Leader, a job very veery well done. The fact that LXC was ready to die with JGY, it always makes me feel so sad and empty afterwards. Not even Wangxian can heal me after that in Untamed (but there was no Wangxian actually)

Me being a lover of Meng Yao, even if he was a terrible person, it literally broke me when he said "stay and die with me" some people may find it overly selfish and in a way i agree, but you can tell how terrified Meng Yao was, knowing that he was going to die because of the lost trust of the only person who genuinely cared about him. And you can also tell how it destroyed Xichen after Meng Yao had died, so for me this was probably the most emotional scene/ death that was in this show. Thank you for the amazing edit it made my eyes sting from not wanting to cry like a baby over this scene again....but it failed the music, the scenes you choose, the whole edit overall made me feel sum that not many other edits can do so thank you for this piece of ArT its a MASTerPiEcE

Yao was a bad person but bad people fall in love too. It's just that their definition of love is often too twisted to be called that.

I cried so much with the tragic ending of this pair. It hurts so bad, poor Lan Xichen, and even though I know the things he did I have to say POOR YAO! Xichen was ready to die with him though but until the end Yao didn't want to hurt Xichen, my heart sobs

"The Untamed" here we got to see so many love stories tragic yet beautiful , great ending but this pair was attracted to each other from the beginning ... The way yao died and before dying he pushed him that broke my heart 💔😭. We just can't hate any character in "The Untamed" .

I can't blame LXC for trusting JGY.. Because among all the people, LXC was the only person whom JGY respected and never thought about harming him in anyway.. All JGY's action towards LXC was real and pure with no malice..

I've watched many other The Untamed mv's but oh my goodness I legit got goosebumps watching the entire thing in this one, especially that part in the end Lan Xichen saying "Huaisang... Is it true?"

Both characters are my favourite...and more so when they are together... I think they are very similar... great intelligence, education, grace, elegance,self-restrain and diplomacy... I think both of the recognise themselves in the other one...in different circustamces ...One has everything and is admired, the other isn't just because of his low birth...and that brought tragedy upon MengYao ...."it's not that he wants to be' a bad man...but why all that things happened to him?" (To quote meng yao himself!)

This is so well done. I loved this couple from the beginning; you could see their attraction and deep caring for one another. When Meng Yao asks XiChen to stay with him, and XiChen just bows his head in surrender... oh my goodness. Then Meng Yao pushes him away but they reach out to each other, knowing that they'll never meet in this life again... This song just really brought all of that home for me. Thank you for this.

I feel like the series did such a better job in conveying the emotions than the novel but I guess that’s a given because you can see their expression but man this just amplified their relationship x10

Man i love this pairing, even though there's barely anything on it. Since the moment we met Meng Yao at the beginning i noticed Xichen's interest, and while the ending was certainly appropriate (just like what happened to Xue Yang), doesn't mean I don't end up loving Meng Yao's character anyway. He wasn't wrong - he chose a path that ultimately made it impossible for him to get out of - when a misstep happens he had to take another misstep to cover it up in order to survive. He had gotten to a point where it wasn't a matter of just "leaving" anymore, but rather if found out would've been his death. So to some extent, Meng Yao wasn't wrong when he kept saying "what else is there for me to do?" And i really love how smart he was, despite being played at the end. As a whole I find him to be actually more interesting character than Xue Yang (although the Yichen arc was i think scripted more tragically - notice that the music at end of Yichen arc was really sad whereas throughout ending of the series with Meng Yao's death the music had stayed somewhat combative, so certainly the intention of the scene is different). ANYWAY gosh i need to find more fanart and fanfics, and like maybe have them be in modern day or somethingggggg. anything to let them have a happy endinggggggg.

Meng Yau demonstrates that even evil ppl can love others to the point they can’t treat them evilly! He could have taken Lan down with him but he saw Lans willingness to die with him that he couldn’t do it! He truly did love Lan. Even his wife he loved her but after knowing she was his sister he couldn’t sleep with her. In the book she got pregnant before they married. So he had to marry her and didn’t touch her after knowing she was his sister. So he really was stuck in that situation. I love how the author explains why Meng. Xue turn out they way they did. They way they can still love ppl deeply.

Great video. My favorite ship actually then comes WangXian. Meng Yao next to WWX the most tortured, if not the most tortured soul in Mo Dao Zu Shi. I keep thinking if he never went to NMJ and stayed on the Cloud Recesses. Or never went back to his father it would be fine. NMJ treated him more like a butler than a friend they weren't really equaled - NMJ's people were still able to look down on him. His father never treated him w/ respect. However, I feel that if he stayed w/ LXC it would be different. As a companion to LXC, no one would DARE speak behind his back and he would hold a high position. His cultivation powers would grow. Ugh...however...too many mistakes. He faced so much hurt.

the fact that when jin gunagyao told lan xichen to stay and die with him lan xichen closed his eyes and didn't move he was willing to die with him but when jin guangyao saw that he's really gonna stay, he pushed him to leave. what a tragic story. if only jin guangyao was reasonable and didn't become much of a murderer

Y’all watching this...I realize that JGY is very similar to WWX they’re both villains one way or another. I wonder how JGY’s fate would’ve changed if he had LCX like how WWX has LWJ. It’s sad to think that people change to become evil because good people stay silent.

Each of their stories is similar and painful. Wei Wuxian's personality and childhood are maybe the only traits that made Wanxian differ from the others... (in the drama)

I've seen countless Untamed/MDZS videos, but THIS ONE. This one slayed me. It's a honest masterpiece. Had me tearing up and holding my mouth. This song and the edit really encompasses their relationship so well. Great job!
