My mum passed away 12 years ago, I didn’t have a chance to learn all her cooking. She could make everything on earth including all the puddings for Chinese New Year, I am so glad that I can learn from your channel. Thank you auntie Cheung 🙋🏻♀️
Thank you for this recipe. I made it last night and it turned out ok. But my mom tells me that it was too much rice. I'll try to reduce next time. But I'm glad to have found this recipe. Thank you again.
penguin52692 that's unfortunate! In Canada, BC we have specialty Asian grocery stores due to Chinese population. It is really good once you get past the look and smell..like liquid pudding.
Hi Mama Cheung, thank you for the wonderful recipe! I have had a similar dessert with peanut, i wonder if I can substitute black sesame with roasted peanut ? Or I have to cook it differently. Thank you
Thank you Cheung Mama for your recipe. 0:28 50 g rice, 169 g black sesame wash and drained, 200g rock sugar, more or less according to one's preference. ... answer: if use rice powder instead of rice: 30 g rice powder in 3 Tbsp water and slowly add into the soup according to our own preference.
Mama Cheung, I've finally made this dessert yesterday. Came out really good. Thank you for the vid recipe. Happy New Year, looking forward to more recipes from you.

Hi Mama Cheung! For the water, you mentioned 6 cups. So did you use some for the blending and the rest in the pot to melt the sugar? Or was there a different pot of water to melt the sugar? Thank you!!
Hi Mama Cheung, I tried to make the black sesame dessert. It taste really good but the texture of the ground sesame is not smooth like the ones being served at dimsum restaurants in HongKong. I put my sesame seeds in the blender and blend for about 10mins into a fine powder.
+Raymond Syling Thanks for your message Raymond. Ensure the rice is soaked thoroughly before blending. Check for smoothness of the sesame paste in the blender before stop blending (it may need blending for longer than 10 minutes). Alternatively use a sieve. Hope it works for you next time.
Hi, mama cheung.. Very happy to found out your channel. May i know if i use 200gr of black sesame. How many gram rice should i use? I am using rice flour. Thanks
mama cheung if you don't mind, can you tell where can I get the blend and the name, which can blend the rice and sesame seeds, any small particle stuff. because i am so desperately to get one. thank you for your help
Hi Mama Cheung, for the black and white sasame do I need to soaked overnight? Or I just rinse them before I stir-fry? And how about the rice, do i need to soaked overnight?
Will the black sesame become white after washing with water? Is the inside of black sesame supposed to be white? How can you tell which black sesame is dyed? Would love to know as soon as possible, thanks!
Hi Ken. The meat of black sesame is white when you bite it open .After washing the black sesame the water becomes slightly brownish yet the black coating on the sesame should remain. If you see the water is very dark and the sesame becomes very very pale they are properly dyed. DONT eat this
