I would never have guessed that your relationship was toxic. I was also in a very toxic relationship it takes a long time to get over it and heal specially the longer you’ve been in the toxicity. Girl!!! I just left my ex last week and you described my entire relationship with him! He was the perfect guy on paper! He always conveniently had an excuse or an explanation for why he cussed me out or why he would purposely make me feel bad. He also asked me to move in with him. He gave me a ring and I'm so glad I didn't move in with him. He drained my energy and drained me of my happiness. This video was on point for me. He thought not cheating on me made him the perfect boyfriend but he treated me poorly. Im sorry you went through that, but Im so happy that you got out of the situation.

My boyfriend of 4 years recently ghosted me, it’s been a week without hearing from him. I basically gave him an ultimatum that we go to therapy and work on our issues or the relationship is going to have to end. He did not reply and hasn’t replied since. No response is a response. Now I’m working on loving myself. When I know how much love I can give, it makes me stronger. Someone who deserves that love will receive it, but I’m going to have to receive it in return. No more unmatched energy ladies 🥳 here’s to high standards, never be too understanding of your mediocre boyfriend.

I'm hysterical crying as I type this because almost everything you're saying is true for me! It's so hard to leave when you've put in time. It's been 7 years for me, no proposal. I've had this sadness inside of me that is affecting every part of my life. I'm in so much pain. I'm finally at a place where I see the relationship for what it is and not the potential of what it can be. It's so tough though. I'm choosing me and finally can see more clearly. I have no idea what is next or how I will survive outside of the relationship but I know my life can be better. I have faith that there will be sunshine again that the constant anxiety, second guessing myself, trying to talk about with him and being shut down is just exhausting. It is not right and sometimes it takes a few years to truly get to the place of accepting that something is no longer for you. In the beginning it is crucial to not have blinders on and not get too excited for all of the love and beautiful experiences someone shares and offers you. Truly look at the life they live, the life you live, your goals and aspirations before committing and deciding to build with someone. I’m sitting in class right now watching this video fighting my tears. Literally this morning I let go of a 3+ year relationship. He was doing things that I was honestly not ok with and I expressed that to him multiple times and he never changed. But Lisette is so right you don’t see that what their doing is wrong until you really open your eyes. I had to let him go no matter how much I loved him cause I don’t feel it was fair to myself to beg someone to do different but deep down know they will never change. I had to let go for myself. It’s sad but it happens and this video is definitely what I needed.

*Tell me why I saw this video and on the same day I put it in my watch later playlist I broke up with my bf of three years as well. Our relationship was toxic and I didn’t want to admit that it was but it was. Literally within the first few minutes of this video where you said it was three years, toxic, not telling family and loosing yourself I gasped because that’s how exactly it was for me. We broke up yesterday after so many breakups and getting back together since July which really showed how deep the cracks in our relationship were. Multiple studies have shown that couples who dont live together before marriage have a smaller divorce rate. To each their own but ive seen so many girls heartbroken because they get with their bf, move in together, build a life, and then the relationship goes sour and because their lives are too intertwined they will make excuses to stay. You dont not have to live with your bf/gf just because you're together. Keep your independence until you marry this inidividual

❗️Toxic relationships should never be tolerated ❗️ I was in a toxic relationship for 4 and a half years and it was a matter of life or death! Had it not been prayer, I think I would have died. I was a teenager, about to enter my 20s and he took advantage of my softness and vulnerability. I’m so glad that I left. I thank God every time I remember the relationship. God literally pulled me out when I asked Him to help me. Don’t waste time when you see that the relationship is toxic. Get help from friends and family and pray! Prayer works! The healing process isn’t always easy but it is totally worth it 💖

Thank you girl…caught this on a short. Looked you up and subscribed. It was the 5 things to live by. I really love it and I’m a 60 ur old girl with a wonderful husband of 37 yrs, 2 wonderful daughters and 3 wonderful grandchildren. This isn’t the shirt but glad your out there spreading love and positivity. If your in a relationship and they aren’t your best friend. The person you want to share everything with them it’s not your person. Toxic relationships can be as or even more damaging then a physical relationship. You can’t fix people and if you need to change them their not your person. You are so brave for sharing and helping so many. People look at you and think your life is perfect. You don’t have problems. You never have a problem. None of this is true. Your a person who loves and live your life. Life isn’t easy. No matter who you are but…it allows you to truly enjoy the good. So so true…if your person has to tell you how good and how lucky you are it’s definitely the opposite. Love you sweetie. There’s a really good book called “Married To King Saul” that talks about what it looks and feels like to be in a toxic relationship. It’s from a Christian perspective, but it’s super good and I’d recommend it for anyone who’s been in, whose dealing with or who knows someone in a toxic relationship. 💕

Thank you for this video! I've gone through exactly that situation almost 2 years ago. At the time I thought I was going crazy. And seeing someone else talking about the same experience it's really validating. Thankfully I've got way over it and that actually made me go to a therapist. Now we are working on my childhood traumas and I feel like I'm starting to gain control of my life, after many many years. Gainning good habits, managing my anxiety like a boss and moving on working on a life that makes me happy and proud of myself. Recently I've been seeing a lot of Christians talk about equally yoked relationships, (I hope this doesn't sound like i'm invalidating your experience or as if i'm saying what you went through is your fault) but during one of the conversations someone said that sometimes it's not either persons fault but simply the fact that they aren't meant for each other, not in a sort of fairytale aspect but in a real life emotional way. If your personalities do not fit each other, there will be a disconnect and a fault always within the relationship and it will become toxic. What you may see as something negative from your ex could be something that is positive to someone else. Being equally yoked, being on the same page and complimenting each other in terms of personality. But at the same time, it can just be the person with negative personality traits and in that case it's still not your fault because you came into the relationship giving the person a chance and he turns out to be something you didn't expect. One thing I learned so far from my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ is that there will be a time when God will isolate you to build you up, to teach you things you need to know to be able to navigate the world with wisdom and understanding and you will learn how to make better choices for yourself and for those around you. Just like you told yourself, you are worth it, you're an amazing person and I've always loved watching your videos. You can never let someone put you down. Stay blessed sis💞

Lisette, I went through a very toxic and abusive relationship like you. I left after a year and hated myself for waiting that long but I had to stop doing that and be happy I left anyway. I am a DSBW and he was white. People were obsessed with the dynamic while I was always confused and crying waiting for him to change. He was a sociopathic narcissist and I was also scared to leave... didn’t know what he was capable of but in God’s name, I am still here! I’m glad you left that toxic relationship. I lost a good 41 pounds, found new hobbies, and am getting to know new people. I have been relieved since I left him and he’s blocked everywhere. Don’t stay with someone who does the silent treatment, makes you confused, belittles you, and all things abusive. Listen to your intuition always (like you said). Love this video. LISTENNNN, you went way beyond hitting the nail on the head. My situation-ship ended because I was loosing myself, I realized I lacked love for myself and felt incapable of taking care of me. I felt sadness, torture and unlovable because this person was okay with the level of love he was giving me. I wanted more and compared now to the history we had and thought it was me every time. Finally choosing me and sticking to my guns one day at a time. I agree, having a coach and therapist is NECESSARY. Thanks for sharing and reminding me I made the right decision to leave
