This is not a joke, this video is partially responsible for saving my life. I’ve been in the ER 4x in a few weeks & 4 different doctors. I wish one of them had ordered a vitamin blood panel. My sister is a nurse & suggested it. If not, something simple almost killed me despite trying to eat healthy. The quality or the food in America is so bad I can’t get proper nutrition from food alone. Keep making these videos.

same thing happened to my wife. All of a sudden had all kinds of problems. In and out of ER. Drs all tried to say "just depression and need antidepressants" She asks several times for vitamin blood work, none would order. She found a Dr that would and her B12 was totally gone, along with other B vitamins. She did all her own research and figured out she had a gluten allergy and her body was not absorbing B vitamins. She went on B12 injections and immediately started feeling better along with cutting out gluten, she is a totally different person now. Drs do NOT care about your health. They only care about their bottom line and pushing big pharma poison

Be aware sometimes taking supplements do not work. I have Chrones disease, ie bowel disease. My bowel does not absorb the b12 so I now have injections. The main source of b12 in food is red meat, so all you vegetarians out there take something. The red meat sometimes sets my Chrones disease off, so I have cut my red meat intake.

At 35, I almost died from B12 deficiency. It was missed by more than one doctor, including a neurologist who thought I had MS, which B12 deficiency eventually mimics. By the time I was diagnosed, I had symptoms of dementia, could barely stand, physically couldn't speak at times, and a laundry list of other symptoms. I can't stress how unbelievably sick I felt. It actually was a traumatic experience, and never should have gotten to the point it did with me. I now know that I have malabsorption problems, so I do B12 shots and take sublingual tablets. It's absolutely insane that vitamin deficiencies aren't focused on more in medical school, and checked more often by doctors. These things are literally what make your body function.

Also having large red blood cells is a sign of B12 deficiency. I keep seeing it in my labs for about 8 years and asked about it to many doctors they shrugged it off. Finally a new doctor caught it and ordered more labs. I lacked the intrinsic factor. B12 was insanely low. Unfortunately most of the damage was done by then. I do injections monthly now and I'm doing much better.

The best form of B12 to take is METHYLcobalamin instead of cyanocobalamin. Also , it's a good idea to take all B vitamins together in a quality B Complex formula, rather than separately. Stay healthy everybody!

@@angiestone1966, methyl version is bio available. Your body gets to skip the step of converting cyanocobalamin to methyl version to process it. We learned that genetic variants like COMT and MTHFR also affect the conversion of B12. My daughter recently saw a functional medicine doc, was tested thru 23 and me health and traits and the data uploaded to another site recommended by the doc. We learned she cannot process efficiently B9 and B12 because her methylation ability is down regulated. So the methyl versions have made a big difference in her health as they get used more effectively. Hope that helps.

I hear many people using in their disclaimer to check with your doctor. For years we have put doctors on a pedestal. This was partially due to big Pharma pushing this because doctors are used to push their pills. Times are changing. We now know that they are not the experts on medicines, the Internet is. Use the net and listen to different disciplines of healthcare for answers to your questions.

Please note B12 deficiency is an insidious and dangerous condition. I had it for many years before it was diagnosed (due to ridiculously low lab ranges). There is a glycoprotein called Intrinsic Factor, secreted by your gut mucosa that is essential for B12 absorption. Atrophic gastritis causes this to be destroyed and you can no longer absorb B12. You then have to have B12 injections for life. High Homocysteine from B12 deficiency can also cause damage to heart vessels which is what happened to me. It can cause permanent damage to your nervous system. The very first symptom is bad fatigue. The feet and hands tingling that he mentions eventually leads to peripheral neuropathy which can also be permanent. It can also cause Subacute Combined Degeneration of the Spinal Cord. A lot of doctors don't take it seriously enough.

I have been diagnosed with atrophic gastritis since 2007. I have been suffering profound fatigue, shortness of breath hypoxemia, and have been on permanent oxygen therapy since 2010 and the doctors don't know why. I've noticed all my blood work shows me to have macrcytosis. Meaning I have very large and too few red blood cells. But..... My B12 level came back looking normal. I'm already on Folic Acid for being deficient in that. But.... I think I have Functional B12 deficiency. Years ago my grandfather was diagnosed with "Pernicious Anemia", which was what they called a B12 deficiency at the time (back in the 1920's or 1930's, or so - I don't know when the name changed). It was regarded as fatal. A doctor had read a paper published in a medical journal and thought he could use an experimental therapy with him. The therapy involved chewing small bits of raw calves liver, about the size of a sugar cube, until it was almost gone. He had to do this two or three times a day. My grandfather was one of three patients on this therapy, and he did this for several years. He recovered. Some years later a drug company came up with an extract that became the basis for a prescription medication. The local newspaper featured him in a story about this. The reporter asked him about the other two patients. "They didn't like the calves liver, so they stopped. They died." The drug company furnished medication to him, free, for the rest of his life.

Vitamin B12 is combined with a protein called intrinsic factor in your stomach. This mix of vitamin B12 and intrinsic factor is then absorbed into the body in part of the gut called the distal ileum. Pernicious anaemia causes your immune system to attack the cells in your stomach that produce the intrinsic factor, which means your body is unable to absorb vitamin B12. My wife has this condition and has to have a B12 injection every three months. You can definitely tell when it is wearing off. Another issue, which was not mentioned in the video, is that she was unable to get pregnant and kept having a miscarriage. Once she started having the injections, she became pregnant.

Low b12 or environmental from lack of good diet is very different then pernicious anemia. I have to do my own shots every other week due to pernicious anemia. I could take all the b12 pills I want and my gut can't absorb it. It's not a condition that goes away. I had to start giving myself injections many years ago because I can't drive due to epilepsy and it became difficult to get to a doctors office for a simple injection so often. Yet despite maintaining my b12 and folate I still have megaloblastic anemia which can occur after years of b12 and folate issues. You can do everything right and still struggle to keep things from going wrong.

The author failed to mention a very significant cause leading to the vitamin B deficiency. You could eat tons of foods high in content of this vitamin and still suffer severely from lack of B12 The reason for the condition is that your stomach, for some unknown reason, has stopped producing a certain secrete needed for the absorption of this vitamin which we normally take in from food ( By the way our body needs only a tiny amount of this vitamin ). Patients used to die from this kind of B 12 deficiency . Nowadays one can easily be helped by skilled doctors who assign small doses of B12 injections Every month or two And you keep well and safe.

Chewable B12 is a good supplement. Chewing the supplement helps with absorption because the mouth will start breaking the supplement down making it easier to absorb. The reason the stomach produces less intrinsic factor and acid is not unknown. It can simply be aging, and also people take antacids which neutralizes stomach acid.

According to my doctor, B-12 injections are no longer given, only through intravenous...why I don't know, I would have to research that topic. I went in for b-12 injection, and she had already seen my labs on hand...she said, one would have to be extremely low and only be given intravenous...I was blown away. When I was in my twenties, I had to go in weekly to get an injection and I felt better. Those were the good days.

I had something like vertigo, too. No appetite. Fell twice lifting one leg out of bath where the other leg couldn’t hold me. Doc ran many images etc was faced w a brain scan and neurologist. Daughter was getting married in 5 weeks so I decided to get B12 injections once a week, eat liver and beets. I literally started getting all my strength back and was able to walk down the isle. Kept the wheelchair handy but today….I walk faster than my daughter. Cut b12 to once a month now and it’s nov 30, 2021. Doc never tested b12 ever. Totally aloof to MY OWN CURE!

@@angiemartin9920 I suggest you go watch Beat Diabetes here on RU-vid. He gives tons of good, useful advice. Biggest tip that helps bunches is to simply use that glucose meter. Eat something you like, then test at 30 min.; again at 1 hour; and finally at 2 hours, to see how you personally react to a food. For instance, in my case, I put brown rice to the test. One 1/2 cup serving. At 30 min. my test was only up 35 pts. I was excited. At one hour it was up 135 pts.; and by the 2 hour mark it topped out at 175 pts. !! So, I don't eat rice. Chicken, no matter how it is cooked, raises my number 30 pts. Beef only raises it 10 pts. Both aren't bad, but I heal cuts better when I eat more beef. Keto is your friend. Try to keep your carbs below 60 per day; 40 is better. Quit eating when you slow down from the day; fasting, or timed eating helps, too. Try to be aware of your triggers. I'm an emotional eater. Right now I'm very tired; ( been up 20 hours already ) so I crave carbs. Body wants fuel to function when it really needs sleep; so I'll have a hot tea and head for bed instead. Hope something I said helps you. Unless you are Type 1, you can Beat Diabetes !

It took over a year of appointments where I was telling my doctor I was exhausted before I found out it was low B12. A year if being told it was because I was aging (I’d just turned 30) and/or because of weight (which had been stable for years). A solid year of going “this isn’t a normal exhaustion. I know exhaustion. This is more” Eventually it took going to a different doctor because of dizziness and having a really slow processing time (I could barely stand to teach a lesson, and was starting to have trouble processing when my students simply asked me to use the washroom…. I’d stare for a few seconds before processing what they asked). Turned out my B12 was incredibly low. Over a year of trying to get help and not being listened to.

This is, unfortunately very common when a woman complains of not feeling well 😞. We are considered, hormonal, hypochondriacs and told it's all in our heads. My sister had complained repeatedly to both her GP and her OBGYN about severe pain especially during intercourse. She was told to literally sit in a tub of hot water with a tampon and to essentially mimic intercourse with it so she could "adjust" and it was basically psychological. Turns out she had a tubular pregnancy and damn near died when it burst her fallopian tube. 🤬🤬🤬

I'm not eating better to the point that I think it is what is making me feel better and the iron takes time.

Not to belittle what others have gone through, I developed a B12 deficiency on a vegetarian diet. I was diagnosed with pernicious anaemia twenty years ago, I was so tired all the time, I had two miscarriages which my doctors ran every blood test known to mankind. My GP called me to say that they wanted to rerun some more blood to double check, they arranged my injections very quickly, I had to have an injection every day initially to get my levels within range! Thankfully my best friend is a nurse so she would inject me daily, I was relieved that I didn’t have to attend my GP daily. I now have a injection every three months, I know if I am overdue as the fatigue is awful, my hands and feet are tingling all the time! My son is waiting for a blood test as he is fatigued, he has lots of warning signs, is it passed on? I hope he will be ok, he is autistic and I know he will get stressed out!

@peg9773 2 года назад
Crystal, I feel your pain! The old name for B12 deficiency was "pernicious anemia', as a comment below states. People used to die from it. Bobby's comment, below, explains exactly how it occurs and why taking B12 tablets may not be enough. The lack of red blood cells in one's blood occurs NOT because they are not manufactured, but because they are too large to get out of the bone marrow. Yes, it's weird. A deficiency can be easily diagnosed with a blood test that includes measuring the SIZE of the red blood cells -- "corpuscular volume". It is a standard item on a blood test but often overlooked. My B12 deficiency was diagnosed late as well. I think the problem is that there are so many possible symptoms and most doctors don't make the connection. Older women, particularly, are often diagnosed w/dementia when what they have is B12 deficiency. One symptom not mentioned in the video is hair loss, which I had, as well as the red spots on my tongue. They got so painful that I could no longer eat anything with any vinegar or salt. I give myself B12 injections once a month. Not fun, but better than a slow death.

But I've got breathing problems, after three steps going up a stair my heart is pumping like crazy. I can do a 6hr hike but very very slowly, and my heart is racing always when I'm going up. I agree, when anybody do a blood test should also ask the red cells size.

I would like to add, in order to really profit from the b12 injections - a lot of people in the early stages may be treated with sublinguals but not all, lots do need shots - people should know it also takes a good active b-complex for the b12 to get properly absorbed by the body. I took many B12 supplements over the years but somehow it skipped my schedule the last few years. Last year I came back from my dads funeral one year ago and felt like I had a near dead experience myself, when suddenly my body started to feel icecold and it was like life was draining out of my body. It lasted for like an hour in which I was terrified to die. Weird was that I had no fever or anemia (I always check my circulation first to decide wether or not I need to call emergency number) it was basicly a sensation. I took several vitamins and especially Floradix which brought me back to life. I eventually fell asleep (with a note next to me in case I died, thats how scared I was) and woke up again. After that followed some weeks full of fatigue, hot flashes, shivering, tingling limbs, moodswings etc. It faded away over the course of 5-6 weeks in which I took a lot of supplements, but I also started to eat better again as I had no appetite and a sore throat as a flu struck me same time. It stayed away for a year while regularly taking multivitamines. But 5 weeks ago the whole show started again, and now during Whitsunday I desperately wanted to see a doctor as I didnt want to live with fear of dieing anymore. Well I went few days later, where they discovered high blood pressure. They took blood to rule out thyroid issues, menopause or diabetes. I was afraid that before my appointment for the results was, they would call me or send an ambulance to rush me to hospital due to heartfailure as my heart was also going crazy at times. But, they found nothing, I was declared healthy after blood pressure also went down to normal levels. Only some white bloodcells were on levels indicating possible iron and or B12 deficiency (not mentioned by doctor, my own research. Now I am still not ok, my legs are sleeping for no reason, my hands are numb, my left cheek is numb sometimes. I feel dead like there is nobody home in my body and I stumble, I feel like there is no feeling in my fingers and feet, my digestion is totaly screwed and my heart pumps like a madman whenever I have been eating. I decided to take an independent extensive bloodtest testing on 46 biomarkers without doctors intereference because doctors dont want to search whats wrong with me. Im currently waiting for results and they didnt call me yet which they would if something critical was found, so I assume it was nothing again. It also tests for B12. Today I felt horrible and decided to take a B12 supplement and found one giving 20000% of daily recommended dose of good quality B12. Together with the essential folic acid, iron, B2, B6, Copper and some other friends. I felt like I entered another world, I feel so great for this moment, my apetite was back and no upset gut afterwards. If I dont have B12 deficiency it was something else in this supplement. I know B12 normally doesnt work that fast but I dont think I am insane deficient, but sensitive to low levels. I dont know. I can only hope this supplement did the magic, but the bloodtest will tell. I never saw a supplement with such high dose, but if I have even one day without any symptoms I'd be sooooo happy.

I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2013 to avert liver failure. Worked out great. But I was unaware the changes to my diet thereafter would bring about severe B12 deficiency due to not getting enough nutrition. It has been quite an effort over the years to even determine it was a deficiency. One doctor told me I had MS and I should go home and adjust to life changes - whatever that means. I have a surgery list as long as your arm, some of which have hindered the problem. The most obvious symptoms for me are / were - sudden short term memory loss. In the space of just a couple of days I will start repeating myself which maddens the husband, when he snaps and says that’s the fifth time I’ve told him the same thing, I know it’s time for the injection. My eyes go foggy too. The symptoms have changed over the years, like a progression of sorts. So for now I mark it on the calendar and go in for monthly injection and that seems to do the trick. For now. I must say, it would help considerably if what seems like a large number of GP’s would be a little less quick to dismiss symptoms. So many times nowadays patients have to do a lot of investigating themselves because doctors give the impression you’re a sook and have more important things to do. I have learned if you feel your doctor is too dismissive or flippant, try speaking plainly with them. If they remain the same, consider going to another. Ultimately you are responsible for your own self and health.

Just turned 64 back in July, woke up with in a 'Fog' every morning. Started taking 2,500 milli grams of B12, no more fog, & seemed to be more mentally acuity. I'm 6'4", 280 pound male. My Dr. didn't "Give A Rip" as long as my Triglycerides were okay.

I had all of these symptoms, except for the loss of appetite. Blood tests showed I was low on B12. I can tell such a difference in the way I feel since I started taking it. I didn't know all of these symptoms tied in with B12 deficiency until I watched this video. New subscriber.

B Vitamins are synergistic meaning they work together. Isolating a B Vitamin would only work well if you take a B Complex and a B-12 supplement together.

Because the body sometimes has more trouble absorbing B12 (especially women, especially as they age), it is often necessary to take B12 by itself, and to make it get around the stomach by injections or by sublingual pills. Obviously people need other B vitamins too, but usually the body absorbs other B vitamins better than B12.

Please excuse the use of CAPS in this, but Pernicious Anaemia is too nasty to be not bringing attention that way. I was born with Pernicious Anaemia never diagnosed as a child and then had my Gall Bladder removed in my early 20s and ACQUIRED PA never told about that either. Bowel and stomach surgery also puts that person in the ACQUIRED PA category but most doctors won't tell you this. I found out I had PA when I was in my early 40s way too much nerve damage had been done by then. My Blood Serum Levels were 131. My children also have Genetic Pernicious Anaemia and a couple have Acquired PA because of Gall Bladder surgery. I shuffled like an OLD man, I would belt into doorways, Brain Fogs, Memory, Concentration, Sleep, Mouth issues, a lot of what you mentioned. One indicator that was not mentioned was hair colour change and hair loss. I was in my 20s when I started to get grey hairs and yes, hair loss. Another was how this affects in a negative way a person's sex life. The other issue I have with the medical profession is that they DO NOT BELIEVE Vitamin B12 deficiency is as nasty as it is. Many will tell folk to take more B12 TABLETS! EXCUSE me but your patient has a DIGESTIVE ISSUE where they CANNOT ABSORB B12 through the gut because of the LACK of INTRINSIC FACTOR and you are telling them to take TABLETS??? Then IF you manage to get the injections - and this is probably only when your Serum B12 levels are BELOW 200 - you are really LUCKY to have a doctor support you having these injections when your body NEEDS them NOT when the doctor graciously says you can have them. 🤬 I gave up on the injections years ago because my body needs B12 EVERY DAY, sometimes twice a day, depending on my SYMPTOMS. So I switched to the SUBLINGUAL LIQUID - DO NOT USE THE SUBLINGUAL TABLETS - and use a couple of sprays UNDER the tongue first thing in the morning and if I know things are 'not quite right' I will repeat that at night. I have cleared mouth ulcers within 24 hrs this way. I have had a 'doctor' scare my husband half to death with worry about me because she told him I was going to have a heart attack because was getting 'too much B12' LOAD OF CODSWOLLOP! NO SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH B12! If anything the issue is TOO LITTLE. 🤬🤬🤬 The other issue with Pernicious Anaemia is that it is an Auto-immune disease. So you have one - PA - you will have more. I have Fibromyalgia, PA, Sjogren's, Raynaud's disease, an issue with my legs and ankles which might have something to do with my lower spine that has as yet not been picked up because ... doctors ... and maybe a couple of other issues that have not fully shown themselves as yet. This is REAL. This does KILL people. And yet the medical profession at large are being part of their patient's suffering and death and thus part of the problem NOT being part of the SOLUTION. Check out on RU-vid Sally Pacholock also a three part documentary by the members of the Pernicious Anaemia Society in the UK "Living In The Fog" and also a documentary on Dr Chandy in the UK. Too many people have been lost to Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease and all it would take is REGULAR - keeping their symptoms in check - B12 injections or sublingual spray. That is ALL it would take and families would still have their folk with them. Please take this seriously. And in doing so keep well.

The other point to remember is that PA IS FOR LIFE, you do NOT 'get over it'.

Had a period of B-12 deficiency. The injections didn't work. Unable to absorb through the digestive track. Ended up using quick absorbing pills sublingually . That is, letting the pill dissolve under your tongue. It was also easy to control B-12 level using this method.

@lindsey5338
@lindsey5338 2 года назад
@@peekaboots01 yes. You can find them where you find all other supplements and vitamins. You’ll want to look for sublingual (where you place is under your tongue and it dissolves) and you would want to look at the particular form - you’ll want methylcobalamine (spelling might be off on that).

B12 can heal paralysis. My father is a doctor and he has healed thousands of people suffering from paralysis. It depends though, If the patient got paralysis from long time, like more than 6 years. Then it is difficult. But please don't start taking it without asking your doctor.

Just FYI -- If you end up taking B12, watch to make sure your levels of iron, potassium, etc. are keeping up with your B12. B12 without the balance of minerals can make you get a really high volume of blood --- which will mimic high blood pressure.

Thank you for this because as of Today I am still receiving B12 injections and Iron Infusions. I have to get 3 more infusions because I am still low. It a good thing you produced this video because people think the iron low is causing the anemia. The B12 is also the culprit.
