Nice video Chris looks good if someone wants to change the look ie overlay. I was looking at these radios again yesterday. Might aim to get one as my next. One day it would be nice to see walkie-talkie mode where the screen is rotated. and the buttons would be on the left hand side. Even if there was no waterfall just to show the frequency and the mode would be fantastic. Because a lot of people put a telescopic on the top like I do and use it on 10 m for example handheld
@@digitalanalogueham 😆What an interesting idea! I would never have thought about it. In fact, in this device, the normal position of the screen is just "portrait". I have to programmatically rotate it 🙃
@@R1CBU it could be done with the button you don’t need an accelerometer. Just press the button for Walkie Talkie mode. I have told Ray Novak from icom about this feature idea before, but it has never happened. Thank you for listening to my suggestion.
i hate the look of the GUI but the rest is awesome. i hope they will add themes or something.. i prefer the xiegu design of the GUI. This kinda looks childish/star trek like haha
So much waterfall I'd like more scope ,but it's super beautiful,I like it but I'm hoping someone will focus on upgrades if the hardware can do wider bandpass of 3.3 khz or 4khz this is my thoughts maybe make it modular with color choices and some eq
Thanks Kenny for the comments. They are off to a great start and I’m sure the improvements will come. They have already had several updates since this video.
I believe that is the only way to install it at the moment. It definitely adds eyecandy. I can’t help thinking it might be running slowly because it is installed on the memory card.. can’t really comment on bugs is it such an early stage and I have not even heard a signal on it yet lol.
