Only 2.5in fits inside. It has usb ports for external storage but I havent fully verified that can be used as the primary storage or just archive/ backup.
Hi i purchased the same Segate HD , and i'm getting error msg when formating , do you think somthing wrong with th HD or it is not compatible with S380
I love Eufy products. Made by Anker, a top notch company. Since I only have 3 cams that only record events, the on board storage is good enough for me, but it is awesome that they support hard drives in the home base.
Hi there came across you channel, as I am doing homework on eufy if I should switch to it. Also I currently just switched to T-Mobile home internet my question to you, are you using T-Mobile home internet with yur eufy? If so how is the connection to it? Only reason I’m asking is that I’m currently using Wyze and it’s a hit or miss with the connectivity on opening the app. I’m torn between internet provider, our previous internet provider was cox but unfortunately I might be going back to them due to connectivity to our security cameras😫😫😫😫. Please help and keep up with the great content! Much feedback back would be greatly appreciated!🤙🏽
I purchased exactly the same drive and after three days now I’m still struggling to format the drive, I simply get an error after about 15 minutes. I’ve turned the Homebase on and off, removed the drive and put it back in again, I’ve even done the Hokey Cokey and turned around and that hasn’t helped 😂 Eufy aren’t any help, any idea what I can do to get the disk formatted please?
When replacing the hard drive, did you lose your trained AI models for detecting familiar people? I hope that replacing the hard drive does not cause the loss of those models. I am facing the same situation and before performing a disk replacement I do not experience a loss of my people detection models.
@JeanYvesBouguet I don't think so but that's good question. I know there is a 8GB flash storage on the home base and I assume that might be storing that data.
My S330 can read license plates during the day but not at night. I played with the three settings for night vision. Any ideas? I tried to reach out to support by email. They never respond,
Didn’t help .. trying to contact support to see if they can teak the settings for night vision to keep the shutter open longer Set your video camera to a lower f-stop, such as f/1.2 or f/2.8. This wider aperture lets allows more light to reach the sensor. It also limits depth of field, so keeping subjects in focus is more complex. For scenes with lots of movement, add extra lighting and use f/5.6 instead
The only reason to do SSD in this use is if the homebase is near a place where you could hear it and be annoyed by the hard drive (like bedroom). It will constantly be making slight vibration/clicking noises.
@justme19852 right. SSD can offer faster read/write speeds but you don't need that for real time recording and you'll also likely be limited by the network connection (wifi or ethernet) so the HDD isn't the bottleneck.
@@NaterTater This makes sense but I'm curious if using an HDD vs SSD effects recording for wireless cameras that records only when motion is detected. I would assume that recordings are buffered using the internal memory then writes it to the drive? I'm glad you upgraded to a 5TB 2.5-inch HDD drive because i was curious if it would even fit. Also are there any noticeable heat issues created from the drive constantly running? Again, i would assume the internal memory would mitigate the need for the drive to be constantly writing. Lastly, your video suggests that the usb port is for archive backup only and cannot be used for real time recording?
Can Nater Tater or others comment on the issues of privacy with Eufy cameras. I was just about to purchase several Dufy cameras and after reading some reviews, I saw several issues with privacy and security - unencrypted video streams, data sent to Eufy cloud. Has this been addressed/fixed? Thanks.
In my opinion it was all overblown for attention. Eufy has always touted the ability to be local, no monthly fees and secure. However it was discovered that when you option to get a thumbnail of the camera when a motion alert happens then that thumbnail goes to the eufy cloud to then get pushed to your phone for the notification. They then delete that thumbnail but people see that as an issue. If I felt truly concerned I wouldnt have a few dozen Eufy cams at my property.
I have the e340 and homebase 3 and only have one camera so I'm trying to decide what size hard drive to buy. I don't think the app is very good. I don't think it's designed very well. If I try to record live it seems to only record and save to my phone and not to the home base 3, but if it detects motion and records by itself then it will save it to the home base I think. I can't tell where it's being saved to. I look under events and it shows videos but it doesn't tell me where it's stored at. The video doorbell has 8 gbs of on-board storage. The home base also doesn't ring when I press the doorbell. I hear the doorbell when I press the button on the doorbell but it doesn't ring on the homebase. There is also a lot of motion outside my door so I think I need to buy an extra battery just in case.
All those are adjustable settings. Clicking record on the live view screen stores it to your phone but I'm pretty sure there is an option to always record live views (to home base). The home base can be the doorbell chime, mine is.
i bought EUFA also bought a 6 t hard drive. i can record events if they occur also can manually record on my i phone by pressing record button , how do i get it to manually record to the eufa base hard drive in the base unit manually recording not just by events occurring but by me saying record what i see on the camera at that time of turning on camera but not by event happening, hope that makes some sense
eufy security eufyCam S300(eufyCam 3C)3-Cam Kit, Security Camera Outdoor Wireless, 4K Camera, Expandable Local Storage, Face Recognition AI, Spotlight, Color Night Vision, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi
i can get it to wotk on iphone but how to make it record on demand using ipad or alexa on desk top computer using the new 6t hard drive located inside eufa base unit not security events but events i call for
One thing to note… old school HDD which are super cheap these days … are way way noisy since it’s got moving parts… so if your home base is in your bedroom (which mine is) you’ll hear it … also they run warmer so the fan kicks on to cool it down… I’ve been using a Samsung 4tb SSD and it is super quiet little pricey at $350 but super quiet.
@@NaterTater Disregard! I feel so silly, I was rushing it and wasn't aligning the screws that is has on the side. Once again thank you very much for your time and hasty replies!
Are you having problems since you have seven cameras recording and 4K to one homebase three I do I have to reduce it down to 2K only so that way I do not have any laggy issue only experience laggy issue when I run the cameras in 4K specially with more than four cameras at the same timejust wanna know your input on that
I don't but 4 of my cams are using my home wifi system to get a stronger signal instead of the home base wireless signal. See ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yqxhujxtFSI.html
@@NaterTater i’m just trying to figure this out because three are on Wi-Fi three are on homebase. Do you have an auto mode or Pacific 4K? Only I reached out to eufy I have a mess system, strong Wi-Fi gigabyte Internet through Spectrum trying to figure out a simple fix to where I can have all my cameras in 4K quality
Well shoot, I was hoping this was about an external hard drive or mini server that I could store my dirt bike videos on and people could access them to watch. Next video maybe????
Hey Nate, i’m really hoping you or other community members can help with my little knowledge of home internet but am trying my best to learn how I could improve my own with youtube channels like your own My question is what would it look like now, connecting a mesh system, router, or modem to a T-mobile Nokia Gateway, and what’s recommended now. I understand there’s better internet plans and gateways, however, this is what I have now in my situation and I am trying to do the best with what I have. Any comment or help is appreciated. I’m a person who loves to learn, even if it’s harsh criticism & if you’re a person in a similar situation, hopefully comments also help you like me.
@@NaterTater I have a new question after watching your video, but it’s pretty basic in the sense that I am still learning. Let’s say I purchase an ASUS router, connect that to my gateway, and also purchase their ROG mesh system and set them as APs for the router, would that be possible? Would that be the best solution for my gateway?
