@lavikagupta2631 There's something wrong. If your arrival date is 27th, it should not be possible to submit MDAC on the 24th. It can only be submitted between 25th and 27th. It looks like due to some error, the website let you submit the form, but since it was submitted before the permitted date, you did not get the mail. What you can do now is to submit another MDAC. It is fine. You will get acknowledgement mail this time.

@user-lw6ot9wo5x I just saw the AYIMUN website, and it looks like you can attend that event as a tourist. You are not going there to work or study in a college or university. So, with an Indian passport, and travelling in August 2024, you will get a visa free entry.

@MrSankethgupta It is not necessary to submit MDAC before leaving India. It can be done from Singapore. And the arrival date on MDAC has to be the actual travel date. If you need to change the date on MDAC, just submit a new MDAC and ignore the one submitted earlier.

@abhisheksharma-dv1oe Just take a print of the MDAC Slip from the "Check Registration" page on the website. Immigration officer in Malaysia will ask for it. The visit pass is the immigration stamp they will put on your passport.

@elizabethbenny207 I traveled to Malaysia in December 2023 and arrived at Subang airport in KL. There, I did not see any kiosk. I can't say about KLIA. I am next going to KL on 22nd March (this month), and will land at KLIA. But perhaps you need the info sooner. What I can suggest is, try submitting MDAC on your mobile phone. It will work.

Regards entry or exit through land border crossings, my understanding is that entry via a land border crossing should be possible, as long as we can show an air ticket for leaving Malaysia. They will not accept a plan to leave Malaysia by land. They will insist on a confirmed air ticket. All documents required will be the same, even when entering via a land border.

@mohammadparvez7482 The immigration process at a land border will be the same as at an airport. If you have an air ticket for leaving Malaysia, that is perfect. Other than that, they will see your passport, hotel booking, and the funds you are carrying. They will ask the purpose of visit and how many days you will stay. That should be it.

@bijeeshbalakrishnan887 I assume you have an Indian passport. Yes, it looks possible. You can clear immigration (with visa free status) and enter Malaysia. While filling MDAC, choose the type of accommodation as "Others", and then write the name and address of the airport as accommodation address.

Hi thanks for this useful content otherwise I wouldn’t know about the digital card. I am travelling to Malaysia on dec16 then travelling to Indonesia on dec19. My questions are.. 1. I am arriving on KuL and I didn’t plan anything for my trip, my idea is to develop the itinerary after reaching Malaysia. How can I show the full accommodation? Because I might travel to another place like Ipoh if I want to. 2. I am going to stay for 3day only. How much should I carry with me? Can I carry half Malaysian and half usd to show the proof of fund? Because I can use the usd in Indonesia.

Hi. They will ask for hotel, so make two bookings. First one you will use, and second one that will have free cancellation option. Cancel the second booking after clearing immigration and then make a new one as per your need. About the money, it is allowed to carry a mix of currencies. How much to carry for 3 days, there is no fixed requirement and they accept debit/credit cards also as proof of funds. I suggest total value equal to 500 USD in cash to show for proof of funds along with the cards you have.

Hi. Looks like a Fly-Thru booking. I don't think you have to clear immigration at KLIA. Hence, no need for MDAC.

@hardiknehal The deciding factor is, whether you will have to clear immigration or not. Usually, a transit between KLIA and KLIA2 requires clearing immigration. If that is the case, then yes, you will have to submit MDAC.

@saboorabdulkadar2447 RM 1000 may be enough to meet expenses during your short stay in Malaysia. However, showing proof of funds to immigration officials is a different thing. Because Malaysia immigration also accept international credit and debit cards as proof of funds, your cards along with 1000 RM in cash may be acceptable. Many times, they don't even ask visitors to show money. I have visited Malaysia several times, and was never asked to show funds. But why I suggest 500 USD, is so that in case there is any questioning, there will not be any problem. It is your decision.

Thanks for this video. We're a family of 04, I have good travel history but rest of the members have a fresh passport. We are traveling to KL for 2 days and then traveling to Phuket from there. @premjit43 Thank you 😊. They send an email after successful submission, which may take some time to arrive. Print that email. A print-out is required. They ask for it during immigration. Also, by using the Check Registration option, you will get the details of all the MDAC submitted by you in the past. There is a PDF link to download the MDAC Slip for each of the trips.

You may also try contacting Air Asia transfer desk who will assist by collecting and rebooking your checked baggage if you have a confirmed ticket to fly out in the next few hours. I have done this a few of months ago when I missed my connecting flight out of KL and rebooked another flight while siting in the transit hotel ( in the airside of KLIA). The transfer desk got my onward flight details, collected my luggage from the belt and rebooked my luggage to the new flight. This was done when the MDAC policy was not implemented( in Oct 2023) as I needed a pre-approved visa to clear immigration.

@rnj9436 I need a clarification. For your return flight to India from KL, do you have to check in for the flight after landing in KL? It is like this. If you have to check in, that means you have to clear immigration to reach the check in counters. Or will you be able to board that flight from the transit area itself? So, MDAC will be required twice if you have to clear immigration twice in KL. About the hotel address for the second entry, it is not required. You may write the name and address of the airport where accommodation details are to be entered.

@royfortheworld If two people are traveling together, then only one hotel room can be booked, which will be shared. About the payment for the hotel, if your booking confirmation says the room is yet to be paid, then it can create a problem. If it does not say payment pending, then it is ok. About two blank pages in the passport, I will make it clear that the official requirement for entering Malaysia is three blank pages. If you travel with only two blank pages, you are doing so by taking a risk. Please consult someone else about that before you travel.

@royfortheworld The US visa does not make any difference. You must understand that from my position, I can only inform you of the rules. The decision has to be yours. Actually, if your trip has only one destination, Malaysia, then there will be a maximum of four immigration stamps - two at origin and two at Malaysian immigration. And if that is true, then practically speaking, two blank pages are enough. And if everything else is in order, an immigration officer may allow it. If and when questioned about it, you only have to say that you did not know three pages were needed. If you like, you can take the risk. But just know that you are taking responsibility too. I also have a suggestion. At the origin of your trip, request the immigration officer to put the stamp on a previously used page. They can do it. And it saves a blank page.

@user-eg6gw5us5c No experience with that so far. However, you may try registering a new MDAC with the correct information. Because the system should allot a new PIN for the second MDAC, I think it will be searchable in the "Check Registration" Tab. I am suggesting this considering the advice Malaysia Immigration people give when someone enters wrong information in the eVisa application. They say, submit a new application. So, perhaps a new MDAC will work. Please let me know what happens.

@abhishekchoudhary830 Multiple entry to Malaysia is allowed during the validity of the visa free policy. However, the length of stay cannot exceed 30 days during each entry. And, entry into Malaysia is subject to immigration checks. If anyone asks why you are visiting twice in a short period of time, then you should have a ready and acceptable answer.

@balajivel1891 Malaysia immigration officials accept credit and debit cards also as proof of funds. They will not ask you to show the balance in the account. But it is always better to carry some cash as well. In case an immigration official asks to see the money you are carrying, it will look better if you say, I have this much cash and some more money in the bank. If possible, carry a currency equal to 100 USD per day of your stay in Malaysia. It can be in SGD, MYR, or any other popular currency.

@user-ij3kk5so5n I'm not sure about this. If I were you, for the purpose of clearing immigration, I would use a regular hotel booking. There has been news of Penang banning Airbnb, and because of that, an official in Malaysia may not look at an Airbnb booking so kindly. You may book two different hotels. The first one where you will stay for a couple of days, and the second one (with free cancellation option) which you may cancel after clearing immigration.

Otherwise, to work or study in Malaysia, you will have to use a proper visa, which I think is called a "Visa with Reference".

@RoshanShanbhag Malaysia immigration accept credit and debit cards as proof of funds. And they ask about funds only when they have a doubt about the visitor. Generally, they do not ask. However, I still suggest that you carry some currency while traveling to Malaysia. That currency can be MYR or SGD or another popular currency that can be converted to MYR after arrival into Malaysia. That way, if someone asks about funds, you can show the currency you have along with your cards.

You can visit twice within a short period to take a return flight. Just remember to submit MDAC separately for both visits. If you have passport from a different country, then let me know.

@IndianTripper If you have an Indian passport, you only have to clear immigration. There is no visa needed, on arrival or otherwise. However, if you will enter Malaysia twice, you have to submit MDAC twice, once for each entry. There is no problem with entering Malaysia twice within a short period if you are visiting multiple countries in a single trip.

@vishnumohan9956 Immigration officials in Malaysia do not insist on proof of funds when a genuine tourist is visiting. And credit/debit cards are also considered as valid proof of funds. Still, I always suggest that carrying cash equal to approximately 500 USD per person is a good practice.

@susantakaran760 As well as I know, Malaysia immigration will not accept your plan to leave for Singapore by bus. You will have to produce an air ticket for leaving Malaysia. In your case, an air ticket from KL to Singapore. They will see both your air tickets, KL to SIN and SIN to India. On the Digital arrival card, you may enter the date of departure when you are leaving for Singapore.

@utthecoolguy While the visa free policy is in force, multiple entry to Malaysia will also be allowed and all visits will be visa free. You just have to clear immigration every time, unless you can board your connecting flight from the transit area itself. Since you will be entering Malaysia twice just to take a return flight to India, it is perfectly alright. Nothing else is to be done. But if an immigration officer asks, you just have to tell them that your return flight to India is via Malaysia.

The letter will have your name, address, passport number, and your brother's name, address, passport number, phone number, and visa or residence status in Malaysia. It can be a direct flight from India to any international airport in Malaysia, or a flight from any other country to any international airport in Malaysia. After entering Malaysia, domestic travel within Malaysia is permitted as well.

For staying with family, just take an invitation letter having details of family member staying in Malaysia, and your name & passport number. Other docs as mentioned in the video. About money, it depends on the duration of stay. Carry cash and cards approximately equal to 100 USD per day of stay. Other than that, follow the video.

I have not seen any sample invitation letter, but it just has to contain your friend's name, address, phone number, and residence or visa status in Malaysia, and also your name, address, and passport number. About funds, when you are not carrying hotel booking, it is better to carry some currency. They accept cards as valid proof of funds, but do carry some cash. The currency can be MYR, SGD, etc. I recommend a value equal to 500 USD per person. And do have a ready reply if the immigration officer asks about the purpose of your visit.

@ManiSkandan You have to download it. After you submit the card, they send an email with your PIN number. After you get the PIN, go to the MDAC website and click on Check Registration. On the page that opens, enter passport number, PIN number, and select country. When you enter all the info and click submit, the another page will open with MDAC slip. There is a PDF icon at the bottom of that page. Click the icon, and save the pdf. Print that pdf before travel.

And while announcing the visa free policy, they did not mention any restriction on entry or exit points. My understanding is that it is possible to travel to Malaysia by road, and avail of a visa free entry. However, I have a different doubt. When entering Singapore, or if applying for a Singapore visa, you may have to provide an air ticket for exiting Singapore. How do you plan to manage that? I am not aware if they accept an air ticket ex-Malaysia while permitting entry into Singapore. About leaving Malaysia to return to India, yes you can fly out from Penang or Langkawi, etc.

I assume your kid has his own passport, but even then, a written permission/declaration from both parents will be required. I read that there is a Child Travel Consent Form required in India. Download Grab (Taxi) and RedBus apps for travel, and those two accept card payments. And if you need more cash, Malaysian ATMs do not charge any fees for cash withdrawal. However, if you want to bring more cash for everyday spends, you can.

I am Indian passport holder and planning to travel from India to Thailand via Malaysia and will be stay in Malaysia for 3 days, then fly back to Thailand .My return flight ticket is from Thailand to India. Am I eligible for visa free travel to Malaysia or I have to apply for E-Visa?

@narugaru If you are entering Malaysia on or before December 31, 2024, you will get visa free entry. It is ok to return to India via Thailand.

Singapore citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents or holders of Singapore Long Term Visa Passes do not need to apply for a Malaysia visa. Others will either need visa or visa exemption based on the country of citizenship. If you have Indian passport, you can enter Malaysia via land border, but will need an air ticket to exit Malaysia within 30 days including the days of arrival and departure. All requirements mentioned in the video will apply.

@4UQ80 I can see there is a bug in their software. Just now, when the calendar date is 2nd Feb, the MDAC calendar is permitting only 2nd and 3rd Feb. It is not letting me select 4th Feb. Maybe try again in the morning.

@4UQ80 You may try even on 2nd. If it does not allow, then try on 3rd. My guess is, the problem will resolve in a few hours, and you will be able to submit it.

@nehareddy4651 So, it will be like this: After landing in Malaysia, clear immigration, collect bags, check in for the second flight, clear immigration, and board the flight to India. With an Indian passport, you will not need visa up to December 31, 2024. But MDAC will be required. While submitting MDAC, instead of writing the name and address of a hotel, write the name and address of the airport. Another thing, AirAsia in Malaysia will require you to self check in and self deposit your bags. If you are doing it for the first time, it can be tricky. Be prepared for that.

@acphotofactory526 I visited in December 2023, and the immigration stamp on my passport reads "permitted to enter and remain in West Malaysia and Sabah for 30 days ..." It looks like East Malaysia in general is out of bounds. However, about Sarawak, I read online that they give a local visa on arrival, if you already have a Malaysia visa or have legally entered Malaysia. Please check about that from another source.

Hi. If you are traveling before Dec 31st, then just clear immigration and spend your time in a hotel. No visa is needed. The same rules and requirements shown in this video will apply.

@mohangaddam133 It is better to carry a mix of currency and card balance. It is advisable to carry funds between 500 and 700 USD for a short stay, and more if you will be staying longer. For card balance, carry record of transactions and current balance in printed form.

@rshlala In Malaysia, they even accept credit and debit cards as proof of funds. However, I still suggest carrying currency equal to 500 USD. If you can't find MYR at a good rate, then try taking SGD.

The last port of embarkation is from where you boarded the flight to Malaysia. If you are boarding a flight from Phuket and reach KL, then the last port of embarkation is Phuket.
