Just ordered this and a 4x4 using your discount codes. Hoping this can hold me over for the next couple of years until fiber maybe makes it to my house. Thanks for all of your informative videos!
@@markolkowski7259 I am still trying to dial in the antenna direction, but even with a weak signal the speeds are faster, connection is more stable, and the modem doesn’t overheat and need to be restarted every day which is nice. Worth it for sure.
Me too. Price is a consideration even with the discount. I only have low bandwidth devices sipping off my Chester Cheetah Gateway right now so the mediocre speeds are not really a problem right now. I use a Verizon Cube for my heavy lifting and it seems to work great for my needs.
Owner of an M10K21 here. After about 8 months it continues to work the same as we got it, probably even better. Out here I have terrible service, so it cuts out a couple times a week, but it is 500x better than the T-Mobile router we were provided.
I thought about getting one of these routers, but I ended up installing a 5g modem + Wi-Fi 7 card in my NAS. Its motherboard has 2 10GE ports, so it was perfect to expand in this way without taking up any additional space.
Get the 4x4 Waveform out of the attic and outside and I am pretty confident that your upload speeds will improve. I am 2.5 miles from a tower and on my x62 Cudy P5 I am getting 300-600 Mbps down and 70+ Mbps up in 5G NSA with b66 and n41+n41 with an external 4x4 Waveform Antenna. I have a Suncomm SE06 Pro with the X65 on its way and can't wait to see the results.
Looks like they are Sold out already. Wow! Could you put links on the best 4 pair wire to from a router like this to the external antenna? Thanks Happy New Year 👍👍

As usual - excellent video! Quick question: I noticed the v2 was paced against the older T-Mobile gateway. Can I expect a significant difference in speed between the v2 and the newer G4SE gateway? Thanks in advance.
Okay, it appears both the V2 and the T-Mobile G4SE are using the SDX65. The performance improvement is negligible, at best. The juice wasn’t worth the squeeze in my case.
Enjoy all your reviews you do, thank you! Can you please review the Peplink B One 5G, would be great to see the performance and aggregation with 2 SIMs
That's an interesting one. I've tested a few Peplink devices (ru-vid.com/group/PL8d9FovK2dNTZR2vUJWyd6kmmDD6ediym) and I was never impressed with their 5G performance. I do like their speed fusion for some situations but ultimately its capped at 1-200mbps so it can help speed up slow connections but wont help on fast ones.
I'm in the Minnesota south metro and I have been running an RM521 (x65) from chestertech for a little over a month. I am approx 0.5 -> 1 mile away from my tower, using a waveform 4x4 with low loss antenna cables. My typical day-to-day speeds are 400/180 and my peak speeds are 550/195. My fastest speeds come when connected to N41 (100mhz) + N41 (40mhz) + N25 (20mhz) for a total of 160mhz of bandwidth. I'm really hoping with the 5G Sale Act that t-mobile will be able to activate the upcoming spectrum within the next few months. According to the online map that has been released about upcoming spectrum, some places are seeing over 100mhz of additional spectrum coming on top of already existing spectrum. We could potentially see areas totalling 260-300mhz of usable sub 6ghz spectrum become active in 2024. No idea if its actually going to translate to higher speeds though.

I just ordered the V2 using your code. :) Hope it improves my performance! Do I just have to take out the SIM in my Nokia trashcan and put it in the Chester Cheetah and power it up? Or are there specific settings that need to be done?

Thank you. I bought a Waveform 4X4 but T-Mobile has refused to provide or sell me a Arcadyan TMO-G4AR modem. Currently the Cheetah V2 is out of stock. I'd rather have the Arcadyan G4AR. Thoughts?
Mr. Mayer, can you give me some ideas on how to increase my lates new router T-Mobile ,at my location all I get is a good signal and sometimes goes up to very good . My location is right at the border of 5 and 4 area. Your help is appreciated tks. Mr Frank
Upload speeds are horrible. I had similar scores when i bought the Pepwave 5G router. I did some band locking and while i sacrificed some upload speed, i do have a 40gps upload now
Nate, ChesterTechRepairs is sold out of the SDX65’s, I’m too slow.. Have you ever reviewed the Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro 5G mmWave mobile hotspot router? uses the Snapdragon X65 modem, but it’s pricey at $1,000, however it is from a major manufacturer.. thoughts?
Yes, looks like he sold out due to this video! The modem is a Qualcomm so the netgear uses the same part. Personally I think for $1k M6 you get a fancy hotspot with a great modem but a compromised cellular and wifi antenna set. For mobile on the go use I can see the M6 making sense but for home use I'd definitely favor a "gateway" product like the Cheetah. Better wifi output, better cellullar stock antennas and better 4x4 external antenna options. If you want to spend more for a major brand, look at Peplink products like BR1 Pro 5G. But I don't think they offer X65 yet. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mErn0bERoj0.html
Nater. Great info! WHY doesn't T Mobile just have a NEW 5G Gateway built with the Qualcomm Snapdragon SDX65 chip powering it's modem? Perhaps a collaboration with Arcadian? I left T Mobile because they wouldn't update my '21 Nokia trashcan to the White '23 G4AR Gateway. Had to reset during shows EVERY night.
That is odd, T-Mobile swapped out modems easy. I've been a customer for almost 3 years with home internet. I'm on my 4-5th one now, Sagemcom, which is the most stable one I've tried. The G4AR is the only one I haven't tried.
@@mugen2002 Stragely I have both the T4GAR and Sagecom here and with the T4GAR my SINR is about 10 and on the Sagecom it's 40.. so overall I prefer the look of the T4GAR and the performance of the Sagecom.. For what that's worth.
Damn did they up the prices on these? I don't even see x65. I see x62 for $450 and SDX75 for $750. Pretty insane. I was thinking about getting x65. Not sure if sdx75 just a rename of x65. I would love to know what the heck is going on there.
I've been testing a SE06 Pro Max with x65 in it. Using 4x4 yagi directionals. Using band 41+41, RSRP-100. Getting 500-600 download average. But have gotten as high as 673 download and 30 upload. Wish I had a better signal. I can get better uploads using 71+25+41all in SA mode
Thanks for this good overview of high-end equipment. My question is somewhat off-topic however. I have a T-Mobile 5G home modem (KVD21) purely as a "Plan B" backup in case fiber goes down. (It hasn't once in the past year.) Paying $50/mo flat with no hardware cost other than the Waveform 2X2 roof antenna is reasonably OK as an insurance policy, but I wouldn't mind investing a few dollars into some hardware to reduce the ongoing "policy" expense. Do you have a recommendation for this scenario?
You are a perfect candidate to "downgrade" to the limited data TMHI for $10/mo ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wMtLwAlIQNk.html you will have to call and ask for it by name. Likely new line and then cancel existing.
@@NaterTater Thanks so much for answering my question. Sorry for the belated acknowledgement. The limited T-Mobile plan sounds perfect, but my understanding is that I'll have to return my current KVD21 and buy a device to take advantage of it. Do you have a recommendation for a reasonably-priced modem that has easily accessible ports to connect my Waveform MIMO 2x2? I don't need a lot of bells and whistles, since this will feed into my Asus RT-AX88U router and access points.
I ordered the SDX65 V1 (thanks for the code) and wondered if you knew which two antenna ports would be best to connect to my Waveform 2X2 MIMO leads. (The antenna is on the roof while the modem is in the basement, so none of the paddles will be of help here.)
Mr. Nate, are you using 2 different SIM cards for the version 2 and your saging com or just one SIM card from your T-Mobile on it. How would you hook them both together
Out of curiosity. If I were to get a phone line with unlimited 5g, could I use the sim from the phone plan in this 5g router to use it as a 5g home internet connection?
Do you think that the sim card you were using was using priority data on T-Mobile or could it be that you were being deprioritized? Like was it the 1st day in the billing cycle of a plan that has priority data?

Were you using a Home or Business SIM? I have a tower 3/4 of a mile from me and with the Sagemcom I have gotten 395 down and 78 up but but lately it is more like 266 down and 59 up. It would be nice to get the best possible with the Chester Cheetah. Not sure I need an outside antenna.
Hello Nater. I was wondering what the difference is between a Chester Modem vs. Invisagig vs NetBuddy? What are your thoughts on the others if you've had a chance to give them a look? Thanks and I appreciate your work.
I've tested the Invisagig too, it works well but is more expensive than the Chester and you additionally need your own wifi setup since IG doesn't have that. I have an issue with my gateway and 4x4 mimo switching towers and bands randomly while I’m streaming and crashing everything. What’s my most logical fix for this?
Mr Tater and viewers, I need your help deciding between 5G Cheetah AX3000 V2 vs GL.iNet GL-X3000 (Spitz AX) Both SDX62, similar price... Please help me decide...
Thank you Nate! Again! This is almost exactly what I was looking for. Finally was able to swap out my Arcadyan gateway for the G4SE, to remove the mess of wires connected to my waveform 4x4. But oddly with the G4SE I cannot connect to my preferred tower 1.5 miles away and only connect to a tower 3 miles in the exact 180° opposite direction. Makes me regret swapping. I want the X65 modem but don't think I need the AX3000 wifi. Do you think its worth just paying the extra $50 for it, or probably just fine sticking with the AX1800?
@@NaterTater Do you by chance know if the x3000 wifi has even better range too, or just that 3rd access point? And faster wifi speeds, or just higher top speeds?
I did notice some small improvements in signal metrics but I didnt do a back to back speed comparison. Certainly they help but nothing like a full external antenna.

@firebatrazerbat I haven't seen a case where the Cheetah is slower. Nothing cellular is guaranteed though, really depends on what signal you get at your house.
@@firebatrazerbat for most people they need to atleast experiment with turning off 5G SA and use 5G NSA. Hey have u ever tested the mofi 5500 rm520. I’m only getting 150mb down and 20 up but with the T-Mobile modem I’m getting 400 and 100 up. Any suggestions?
I have not been impressed with mofi in the past. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-CyZ-KEXn97U.html typically slower. Verify network mode (5g sa vs nsa) and bands you are on. Check for firmware updates as I know they are working to improve.9
Yea I’m debating on returning it and getting an external antenna or the Chester. Is the 450 5g Chester comparable to the $550 5g Chester, do you know or what’s the difference?
@stevestebo19 which Chesters are you asking about? There is Cheetah V1 with x62 or x65 and Cheetah V2 with x62 or x65. Also new and used ones and also other Chester router verisons like ninja, shield, etc.
@@NaterTater Looks like I need one with 220mhz (band N41 has 200mhz & B2 is 20Mhz) of bandwidth or more to take full advantage of the speeds. Thats probably why the mofi is slow.
Great video! I went ahead and bought the V2 Dual SIM. Quick question? My Stock T-Mobile 5G Home Internet Gateway has a Fan underneath of it especially in the Summer because it's up in our Attic because that's where it gets the best Signal and Speeds so does the Chester Cheetah V2 have a built-in Fan? Honestly for the Price it should but if not I have a Pedestal Fan that is constantly on in the Summer blowing Air around in the Attic and I keep the Windows open unless it's bad Weather so would that be enough to keep it cool? Or would you suggest buying a bigger Fan to put underneath of the Chester Cheetah Gateway just to be on the safe side? I'm not really sure what the Operating Temperature of the Chester Cheetah Gateways are but it can easily get around 100° or a little hotter in our Attic even with the Pedestal Fan going at High Speed and Windows open so not really sure if I should also invest in a Fan for underneath of the Chester Cheetah Gateway itself or not?
Is it possible to activate bridge mode with the V2? I want a „pure“ modem with external Antennas and 5G CA. Are there any other 5G Modems/Router with x65 and external antennas on the market?
They sell a Ninja V2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E-PAnz4HtUI.html that you can get the sdx65 in and it's the closest you can get to "modem only". It has no routing or wifi but it does assign dhcp to the single ethernet port.
Pretty Ballsy Nate! Has the Quectel SDX65 received FCC approval yet? Has Quectel even applied for approval subsequent to the tiff with congress? Can it even be sold at the retail level?
Guess my location is an anomaly, as I saw no difference between the nokia trashcan and the sdx65 dual sim v2 in speeds, both still connect to n41/b2 and get 150 down and about 10 up.
Did you try SA mode? Also sometimes the towers turn off some bands at different times of day for example my tower when I get good speed is because it use N41 +lte66 +lte2 but then it is a little slow because it only gets N41+B66
@@pilinke11 I've tried all 3 modes for 24 hours. NR5G-NSA seems to give the most consistent speeds. I've tried with and without waveform 4x4 mimo pointed towards the tower and with gives the best speeds. Towers about 3.5 miles away and checked a line of site mapping with no elevation blocking straight line of site.
I get almost 500 down and 120 up with just nsa on bands n71 and b66. I switched to SA on my invisagig, pulling bands n71 and n25, and get half those numbers. Tower configuration and capability seem to be the most important thing when it comes to speeds because I get better scores than most people I know who are using n41. I think it's because my tower is brand new and has a fresh fiber connection to it. As for why sa is worse for me, I have a feeling it's because tmobile doesn't assign much bandwidth to n25 yet because it should technically be a lot faster than n71.
@NaterTater Hey Nate. Such an amazing, informative channel, Thank you for your great content! Question for you. I have the ARC-XCI55AX using the Waveform 4X Antenna. First question- Is the Cheetah able to clone the IMEI and the ICC ID? The reason I ask, it seems like Verizon detects when using new hardware. Want to make sure I am able to use the Cheetah in place of my ARC-XCI55AX? Also will I see a significant increase in performance? I live in a rural area. I am able to pull 5G with the external. Thanks so much!
the Cheetah can revise IMEI but I havent seen ICC ID. the ARC-XCI55AX is an eSIM right? i take my verizon ASK gateway SIM out and use it in the cheetah but I dont think it can mimic eSIM. might be worth asking Alfredo at Chester Tech Repairs.
