Oh my goodness Scott! My best friend's fridge runs a LOT, and seemingly loud from what I can tell. I'm gonna go pay a visit, suggest this video, and that we inspect and clean under that fridge!!! As much as I was about throw up seeing all that dust come out in this video demonstration, thank you SO MUCH for posting this! Please excuse me while I go take some gravol... lol Fawn 🤢🤣

Normally that isnt the cause of that particular problem. That usually indicates faulty hardware. The most common cause is a bad starter relay. Its a cheap & easy fix if you can find the correct replacement.

guess it would be too much trouble to put a mesh screen on the front grille... like my computer case has. lol I am having to clean mine but it is zig zag in fashion so I will have to try compressed air.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel hey I changed my thermostat on my fridge, same fridge as in the video. It worked fine for few months but now it's not cooling much. The back of the freezer is completely frozen on the bottom. (By the coils).. what could be making it freeze like that? It seems that the fridge is constantly on also. Please if you know how I can fix it. Could you please let me know. Thank you

trying this after finally figuring out how to thoroughly clear ice from back of coils inside freezer. Refrigerator now running constantly so trying this. Will try business card trick next but fridge is only 5 years old.

Hi Thomas , That’s due to the defrost system having failed. Look for a video on how to change the defrost thermostat . It’s not too hard to do.

Use to clean the opening on the old refrigerator. But I don’t see that on this refrigerator. I do put the vacuum tube and vacuum under the front and sides once or twice a month. I keep a rug to catch fur and dust from blowing under it. But not block air. The ice make in the frig is a joke! No one should every waste their money on in the door ice- when the ice make is NOT in the freezer.

I was going to use a can of compressed air but I didn't have any so I used a leaf blower. worked great!! but had to vacuum my entire kitchen afterwards. lol

I found that a vacuum cleaner nozzle, held in front of a small leaf blower's in-take, will suck much of the dust in, before it is sent hither and yon around the kitchen. Also use vac and blower in tandem when cleaning the lower section of clothes dryer.

I checked all the things you show and it still runs all the time. I just put in a new defrost heater and it came with a new temp switch in line with the heater so what more can you tell me to check? 7/27/2017

i have a 10 year old Kenmore refrig and i removed that lower cover you were talking about, but theres no condenser behind it. What now

You can pull it away from the wall and remove the lower back panel to clear out all the dust.

If the fridge is that bad wouldn't one want to check that the heat/ac ducting isnt in the same condition .

My side by side frigidaire (frs23h5asb6) is not cooling properly (freezer side 30 degrees, fridg side 40) I changed out the defrost thermostat and the defrost timer. The defrost heater is working as are the fans but the freezer side still freezes over and the frigid. constantly runs. I vacuumed and cleaned the condenser coils. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Oh, and the compressor is working, if I touch it, it is warm to the touch but not hot and I can feel vibration.

I would say some of the refrigerant has leaked out and it can’t get cold enough. Freezer should be 0 degrees.

Why wouldn't you vacuum before brushing it? MUCH quicker cleaning that way! Use the long tube attachment, then brush and vacuum again.

You can grab one at the hardware store for 7.00. They’re called refrigerator brushes or coil brushes.
