@@tjrcuk I've just updated mine using the Chrome web flasher from egzumer but selecting the bin file I downloaded from the repository Quansheng_UV-K5/Firmware /UNIVERSAL FIRMWARE. Now to understand the menus and display 🤣
@@edwardfletcher7790 I have done quite a few video tutorials on these different firmwares now along with chirp & reception testing etc check out my playlist here : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LlvIIpqFMDI.html
I'm so glad I bought my UV-K5 for $20 months ago before all the price gouging started !! At least all the extra antennas & accessories are cheap ! These radios remind me of the early days with Nokia phones and their cases, ringtones & screen icon hacks 😁
It's not hard to find guys, a quick search will take you to it :), I also have a custom firmware section on my website bulletin board along with a downloads section for firmware, apps, files along with my quansheng uvk5-uvk6 recovery tool kit I have put together, the downloads section is only available for active posting/contributing members, link is in description & pinned comment.
Fagci Reborn was a bit disappointing for me tbh it's so early in it's development still after all this time! and has so many options missing also it has caused many peoples radios not to work correctly when reverting back to egzumer with no tx etc! including mine but I managed to sort the issue out in the end using my radio backups I make before flashing :) for me the only two firmwares which stand out right now are IJV & Egzumer for overall performance, I really like IJV for customisation & getting a bit more technical with settings etc also the fact you don't have to keep going in the menu to make changes on the fly it has one key direct access to change settings like modulation, agc, filters etc but I have a few of these radios now so I just use both but mostly IJV tbh :). Have you tried IJV 3.0 yourself yet?
I have just tried to flash the firmware, but it failed. I tried to turn on the radio, but it couldnt be turned on. When I tried to flash the radio again, the software notification said, "radio not detected". Is there any possibility that my radio can be normally turned on again? Thanks in advance 🙏🙏
Would you be able to show how to use it on chirp and import channels because when i tried to import channels i have on my other k6 to the k6 with ijv on chirp it said some of the channels are not supported??
@@manshster HI, yes tested it myself today and It did not transfer the narrow fm channels in my list this was using the latest py file 3_36 & 3.13 firmware, I only use a few active cb channels so I usually just enter them in manually tbh, but maybe the developer will fix this in a future py update...I am sure it will be addressed at some point :)
Why am i only able to hear the incoming signal if someone is calling when i hit the monitor button on the side button 1 ? And why it seem i cant transmit even if on screen it looks like i am ?
