I have a 2009 Maxima and the dealership said my power steering pump needs replacing it wasn't a line dripping, but the pump itself.

Just changed out the power steering high pressure line on my 2010 myself at home. you will have to remove it from the underside but you will not have to remove any components just the hose and the attaching brackets. A tough job but not a hard job and yes those lines will eventually fail in the maxima.

My leak on my 09' maxima is coming from the same spot. So was lmthe leak from the hose or the power steering pressure switch?

Wow yeah just saw this comment, i had bought a new presser switch, still leaked heavily. Would you mind telling me if it is the hose, why dose the it leak straight from the switch? (Shooting straight lines) so confusing.

@@november7332 the shop I went to looked at my 06 maxima and said the leak is "by the pressure switch" or something like that. I even asked for a quote to replace the PS switch and they gave me a quote. But the way he worded it, it kind of sounded like it was maybe where the switch meets something else so the hose. So maybe it's really just the hose that's dripping but it looks like its coming from the switch. I think I can handle the replacement on my own but depending on how difficult it is to replace the hose, maybe I'll just do both 🤷‍♀️

fill it up with power steering fluid, start the car, and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you stand there and watch where it's leaking from.

I have a small power steering pump leak that's hardly noticeable it may drip, but my reservoir has not lowered how bad of a problem could this be.

Personally, I wouldn't even worry about it unless it's leaking onto the belt or something hot.

Hi 👋🏼 I have the same leaking problem I replaced the high pressure hose , serpentine belt , & the tensioner pulley & it’s still leaking. ….please help I’m frustrated

The customer had someone else replace the hose, but that is what you're going to have to do.

I have the issue but it was coming from the sensor I changed the sensor and it’s still leaking from the same place and I don’t see anything leaking from the hose

@@reco377 This one LOOKS like it's coming from the sensor, but it was actually the hose. Be sure to check that.

Thanks the car had two leaks the rack n pinion and now the high pressure hose..thx for the video!..I replaced the rack twice thinking it was the rack!!

This one was the switch. You might want to check the pump or the other line

If it's leaking from the same area, check the high pressure line and sensor.

This is what Jim Whaleys told me about my 2010 Nissan Maxima SV yesterday. Power steering hose and sensor is leaking causing a whining sound on my pump. Cost is 750 total but damn thats high. So I'm waiting

Astral Auto Repairs I see it dripping from under the bolt . That goes through the line into the pump .. so what that sound like ?

Clean up the entire area, have someone start the car and turn the steering wheel back and forth while you see exactly where it's coming from.
