【吐槽】It's 2020 ...COME ON! Xiao (Mary) Chuo (Sue), You Win! 

The falling into the ML arms and then staring into their eyes for eternity makes me laugh every time it's literally in every historical romance drama

I knowing nothing or even care about the drama...but I love her ranting!!! So here I am. Hehehehe.

I am tired of every drama having accidental kisses of the actors falling on each other, AH!!!! I cringe everytime I see that scene!

"It is literally pressing the audiences head into shit pond and forcing them to eat it." I actually spit out my drink laughing.

Avenue X: it makes no sense! *opens fan and flaps more aggressively* I love how she is just so done with it so each time she opens the fan she flaps it more aggressively then the last time 😂 I love her rants. Also beautiful hair pins!!!

It's a drama that indeed does get better as it goes, but the overly forced narrative of the script kept insisting that the FL "isn't like any other girl". I was completely unsold in this narrative as the FL has only shown how childish and self-centered she had been with her actions...which is masked as bravery??

It looks like your rant more worthy of my attention than the actual drama itself

If they wanted to keep the "Mary Sue" wish-fulfilling angle they could've just did a historically accurate take on Xiao Chuo and not do the Every Man Loves Her Love Triangle again? Like, she was a dowager empress that lead entire armies? She kicked pretty much every kingdom's ass in her general vicinity? The Song emperor had to go "I will give you 20k silver and 10k silk every year and acknowledge you as my aunt so can you please stop hitting us I am literally begging you" to get her to stop. Give us some of that

I could smell the Mary Sue coming from miles away for this one lol, I couldn't even finish the first episode.

I think it gets slightly better in the later episodes, but still full of tropes and nonsense. You know it’s not great when you want the female lead to fall in love with the emperor and forget about her ‘true love’...

This is the sort of thing that goes through my head when I watch some Kdramas. How could such a script be chosen for production and not be questioned on plausibility? How could the actors act in such nonsensical scenes etc etc. Recent case in point is a drama in which a girl who was in a coma for a couple of weeks, wakes up and, within a few hours, appears in court as a witness and in a wheel chair! WTF.

Every time she slaps the folding fan into her hand, presumably open-palmed though off-screen, I become more and more enamored. I want a folding fan, too!

I felt the same way, I legit had to stop watching because I was going to throw my phone away. I don’t understand why they have so many shit dramas, like... there are so many good books that can be made into dramas.

I haven't even watched this but I like listening to AvenueX rant lol

I feel like every Legend of XXXXX with big female lead will always end up either Mary Sue-ish or total Mary Sue

I didn't make it through the first episode. I have tried to watch 3 different costume dramas starring Tiffany Tang and could not finish any of them.

Just got to the end “and actually watch a drama worth your time” in a cloudy voice was the icing on the cake!!! AvenueX 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I mean what do you expect though ? This is Tang Yan drama. As pretty as she is, she usually choose a Mary Sue character when she played the Lead role. Even weiyang who supposed to be strong and full vengeance on the book, became a Mary Sue on the drama. I suspect her acting ability is the one to blame as well. She is a one note actress.

Hilarious...I had the same reaction when I started watching the drama. These rants are worth having these bad dramas hit the airwaves. Good job Avenue X, intellectual and entertaining. So fun!

Never heard of this show and probably won't watch it, but I love watching your rant vids hahaha. Also I'm really sick of the scenes where the guy saves the girl from falling, then they stare intensely at each other for 10 years -.-

why why why Tang Yan always have to pick such bad character and bad script. hopefully one day she will try to challenge herself but I doubt it. Some reason she doesn't have the 'shit my pants are on fire' desire to improve her acting and be seen as an actual actor like some other idols. She's really not much better than Angelababy at this point, which is sad because she's been in the industry for so long and her acting in Chinese Paladin wasn't bad. She needs to do a grey/villain character or an emo one lol. I'm so sick of her Mary Sue but I'm not allergic to her face (yet) just super disappointed. Girl need to get out of her box.

To be honest I dropped this from I watched the trailer but my mother continued and she has nothing but ill feelings for this drama.

I like the drama. It's getting better and better after episode 10. There is absolutely no chemistry between the two leads but I like the political parts of the drama.

The legend of Xiao Chuo is awesome. It's entertaining, like the Story of Yanxi Palace. It's Entertainment and a darn good one that gets better and better. I love the legend of xiao chuo.

I made it to ep. 43 and a lot of crappy things happened as the story progress. like ep 40 when the king was very sick and met a beautiful girl, fell inlove with her became his concubine and impregnate her in that condition without telling the queen... man you are dying and still has the ability... hats off to mingyi 😂

I crawled my way back to Avenue x. Why I didn’t watch her review before wasting my time to watch this drama, I’ll never know. I’m so mad that I wasted precious brain cells. Ah! my poor brain. I don’t usually rant about Chinese dramas because I know what to expect. But this! This one made me cry because of how bad it was. I didn’t think it was possible to cry because a drama was so bad!!! And a kind of suggestions, can you make video recommendations about good chinese novels like The Bad Kids or even Priest novels and other kinds of novels?

I really wished tang yan played more serious roles. Her only role where I really liked her was when she played zixuan from chinese palladin 3. That role gave her so much range. I dont know why she or her team chose to let her play these mary xue characters

Having watched some of the later episodes (and clips of episodes), you are spot on. So much variation from logic and what could have reasonably happened. There are so many points where I have asked out loud, what the heck!? And I’m sure that would continue if I continue watching it.

Wow, I started watching this with such high hopes since I loved Princess Weiyoung, but yeah the first episode made her character seem ignorant. Even later everyone just rescues when she gets in trouble and the romance is kind of underdeveloped, but I love Tiffany Tang, so I'm watching it on double speed with my hand on the fast forward button. Great rant AvenueX, love watching you tear it apart! : )

My favorite actress is (Tiffany tang yan) when she played the strong intelligent female lead . the drama called "The princess weiyoung" omgosh i was like...yes! Best drama ever. I fell in love with her acting. But N E WAYZ...I was looking foward to this. But honestly..I couldn't even finish the 1st episode 😭 I tried to keep watching it hopefully it will get better. I was a bit confused. I believe every first episode should capture your attention. To make you want to see what will happen to the next episode. But unfortunately it didn't. So I have to pass on it 😞

sometimes i think the drama's we see is a reflection of what ppl think. the production companies are obviously here to make money. they want to hire actors/actresses that ppl likes. they want stories that ppl want to hear. etc etc. there is so much mary sue, probably because there is a huge demand for mary sue in society. I WAS considering going along with the storyline for the actors but mainly because it about a part of Chinese history and culture that I'm not too familiar with. Would you recommend another drama that has better representation?

This drama is SO GOOD hehehe the real historical narrative behind it is fascinating. The sisters' connection is emotional and Tiffany Thang is gorgeous. It has many mistakes, but then again, most c dramas have it. (The characters make up and big hairdos even while they are in bed is the worst for me). Yan Yan becomes a truly intelligent character early on, as soon as shes is not, you know, 15 years old. It kept me and my family hooked. Its worth watching and reading about the real historical figures!
