Really? This Is What Gets Made in 2023? - Love Heals (I Don't See How It Can Heal ANYTHING) [CC] 

I dislike when dramas use Africa (or a departicularlized African-coded place) as a plot backdrop for a setting where “war, chaos, and bloodshed” can take place, instead of finding ways for these characters to practice their skills in their own country.

This is how I want to rant about this drama

I hated, hated, hated this drama. My precious time was wasted. I could have been cleaning the cat litter instead. THANK YOU for telling it as it is. 😤

I watched the first episode which was full of red flags and then I saw this one clip where she makes him a lunchbox and he throws it away....and I was like nope there is no way the guy is redeemable and decided not gonna watch this drama for the sake of my mental health and precious time.

Best rant line: "This girl has no bottom line of self-esteem." Thank you. I thought about checking this drama out but definitely won't.

Finally! You voices out my same concern. These "sacrificing yourself to the one you love" type of drama is really not my cup of tea. That is why I dropped Lighter and Princess after Li Xun pushed Zhu Yin away lol. It's 2023! And we don't need the characters who are will to "sacrifice" theirselves and mental heath for the idea of "I can fix him" type of attitude!

As you say, any woman who makes it into med school, has to have self-confidence. As I once told one of the female internists at the hospital, we both work at, "You (a woman) have to be twice as good (as the men) to even be considered half as good in their eyes." And it's true - even today. Our female cardio-vascular surgeon is ten times as good as her male counterparts, and yet even some of the more idiotic patients think that the men are better - just because they are men. So, there is absolutely no room whatsoever for a namby-pamby woman in medicine. And to be accepted to John Hopkins - no doctor in their right mind would turn that down. So glad I watched this video by you, before wasting time on this drama. I had thought I'd give it a try, but as a healthcare provider I know it would just drive me bat-crap crazy. And life is way too short for that.

After they got together the God knows what time....I dropped it. The main lead was all the things you shouldn't marry

The way female roles are written in c-dramas always make my blood boil, is that how they really view women? they're either sweet and foolishly naive and only can live for the male lead, or they are just overbearing. i'm still waiting for a good female lead role i can be proud of. i couldnt continue with this drama cos the male lead just didnt respect the female lead, i dropped it!

The ending really made my blood boiling 🫠🫠🫠. One of the worst of the worst endings I have ever seen in my entire drama watching career. I got cringe at few first episodes, but ignored them cuz PGY & WCR’s chemistry are so cute (just my feelings). It was so funny that I got the nostalgic feeling while watching Love Heals just like you said, K-drama in the 2000s. Yet the ending was unacceptable. The worst ending to me was the one from Memories of Alhambra, but Love Heals really reached another level of ridiculousness 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Oh well another drama to cross out from my list. I hate exactly this type of drama. My life is already full of crap, i don't need to add unnecessary stress and wasting my time with this type of story.

So many times I've wanted to rant about the same kinds of things in dramas. I can't believe that this kind of story still gets made and people watch it and make ridiculous excuses for why people do things that make no sense. Thank you for actually being a voice of reason about relationship dramas, so that I don't waste my time with things that would make me want to pull my hair out.

I lasted till they got back together because... I really don't know actually. I kept watching and it made me feel bad. I think the whole atmosphere of this drama was off. The ML wasnt deserving to be a ML. The longer I kept watching the more I disliked him. I want to add my story to your rant. I always wanted to settle down with somebody, have my own home. So I met this very cute and caring guy and we married and I moved to his side of the town and arranged everything in my life to fit into his plans. Little time later I got sick and depressed and I went into this dark time of my life which only got better when I got therapy and reclaimed my life. I started a new job, we moved to another environment and started a new chapter of our marriage. We are married for 8.5 years now and last year was our first happy year. So even if the guy loves you back, it literally just isnt healthy to give up everything for him.

Ha ha ha ha! I just love Avenue X’s rants. She gives voice to the rest of us who are silent sufferers. I don’t really watch dramas titled “love” and after this rant, I hope there is some law requiring those who write and produce idiotic dramas to be hauled up and answer for stupid plots. Since the unfortunate Wang Yibo was ticked off for being "desperately illiterate" after a single botched interview, the same scrutiny should be given to nonsensical scripts! 🤣🤣🤣

The worst thing was that they never revealed if he also forgot his son due to amnesia… that is such a major plot hole

I remember in one scene, the guy's ex asks the FL whether she thinks that the guy was taking her as the ex's replacement and the FL just discards the idea- like, girl! Even the other girl can understand what's happening and you cannot? How did you end up going to a medical school? Also, later in one episode, the guy finds out that FL is not really pregnant, and just decides to fly off to the US even after telling the girl that he wasn't going to accept the offer! That was my last straw!

I have been watching asian dramas (cdtamas, kdramas, jdramas, lakorns) for the past 10 years. And I've never EVER seen such a bad drama as this one. Can I sue them for wasting 36+ hours of my life? It was a mess with useless plots, dumb decisions, weak female lead, and THE WORST ending I have seen so far. The male lead was so bad written that the writers gave up in the end and thought: scr@w it, let's give him amnesia and a new persona and end it like this. I won't watch anything those writers do for the time being, unless I want to destroy the tiny bit of sanity I have left after watching this mess.

LAWL!!! I laughed along your rant! I didn't watch this drama but it was popular enough for the cut scenes to pop up on my feed during airing period. Among the praises, I came across this feed about an episode in which the female lead went hysterical with the "oh no u don't love me since u hired someone to arrange the proposal ceremony for u" and that what she asked for was unrealistic since the male lead was supposed to be a rough and unromantic guy . Up to that point, i hadn't watched a single episode but I already had a bad impression on it because it sounded just too teenish to be a relationship between 2 adults. Ofc, i didn't even consider watching the drama afterwards. My brain cells were saved xD

The only time I got a glimpse of this drama was when I was coming across that one scene where he threw away the lunch box she made for him and he didn’t even look sorry at all when she took it to clean as her tears were flowing down… that scene alone made me so angry and I felt so bad for her like omg he didn’t deserve her at all >_

I feel you completly. I grew up in much different culture, in my country average age of having first child is at 30, I had my first at 37... So, I was quite often buffled by behaviour patterns that are promoted not only in Cdramas but in Asian dramas in general. I find this patterns quite toxic and am asking myself what messages does this send to the women, because they are mostly the object of intoxication. Thou, that cold CEO and other cliches about what man should be like, are not kind to them, also. I think this builds up an atmosphere where human values and relationships are highy urealistic and for worst, highly unhealthy. I actually watched only two episodes of this drama, found it uninteresting and didn't bother to see how it ended. Your video just confirmed that I didn't miss anything.

Omg Avenue, I love this rant so much because that how I feel about so many contemporary story that comes out of Eastern story telling…. Let’s be frank China, Korea, Thailand and Japan love having this female characters with no backbone. I mean it was cute for a minute, but when the standard for a main female is to be a Mary sue. As a mom with girl and as a woman myself I get so upset when see it sometimes. And. I also dropped this drama 😂 because the set up bugged me because my husband and I are also both doctors and I don’t see myself groveling to him like that like wtf … and I also got annoyed at the Africa part just like so many people ranted about why Always use Africa as a backward backyard for all these people to go play heroes. Some part of rural China are in way more dire need. Oh let me stop ranting too 😂 because it’s starting to feel personal. But I do share and totally understand the anger you were displaying in this rant.

And get this! That john university storyline? Male lead doesn't know, even after the drama ends that she gave up going to that school for him! That and all the misery the female lead went through alone in the first marriage they don't pay off any of it! Male lead NEVER apologized for the hurt he caused or even ADDRESSED his own behavior at any point. Female lead had to tell him herself why they got divorced at one point, he couldn't understand why, or tried to self reflect at any point. So how can we as viewers trust that this man had any character development at all?

This drama's concept sounds pretty similar to the K-Drama Emergency Couple. It's pretty old now (2014), but it's about a couple who divorces and meet again years later as interns at the same hospital. I wouldn't say it's a great drama, but the personalities of the main couple make so much more sense than what Love Heals sounds like.

I also feared for my mental health so I skipped a couple episodes and watched the ending. The ending wasn't even good 😭😭😭

What's wrong with Love Heals? Let me count the ways... watched up to ep. 15 and I couldn't believe how bad and demeaning this was, of course left it unfinished. On this one you are spot on!

I haven't watched the drama but I love the ranting. But I watched a similar drama yesterday. Boy-Girl were couple in college - broke up - met after few years - made up - broke up again - got back together AGAINNN...🤯 Luckily was only 7-8 min per ep. Saved myself from becoming bald

I bailed on this drama at episode 12. I usually finish what I start, but this one had me going “nope, nope, nope” Couldn’t take it 🙄

And what year are we in????? The guy thinks of himself as a semi-God and there's no ounce of remorse in him.. Annndd... her family and friend are encouraging her to get back to him cause u know he was her ex and they are "familiar" with each other!!! I mean excuse me!!!! The guy is like a cold ice stone and he's always right!!!😂 when the lawyer guy appeared I was begging with every ounce for her to look at him and choose him, but I knew it's not gonna happen so I stopped.... sight what's more is that I read that the last 6 episodes were a total failure disaster... I thanked God I stopped watching it..😊

I literally finished watching this a couple hours ago and even by ep 25 I was already ranting to my friend. By ep 32 I'd about had it, so I'd watch an ep, rant about it, then go watch another. By the end of ep 36, I was so angry I could hardly type so I sent a voice message instead. I honestly only watched this for the director but I wish I could get back the 3 days I spent watching this. I can't believe stories with dumb plot twists like this still exist.

This sounds like the kind of drama you would watch because you need to be angry at the world .... just sayin .....

I sometimes watch a crappy drama so i can curse at it, lash out my life frustration. I watch lethal man for this reason, plus both main characters are eye candy.

Kudos to director, male lead, female lead and supporting actors, and to the child actor. They all redeemed a crappy story with their great acting and good looks. There are many cute, funny, sad scenes that made me laugh and cry. I rewatch these scenes many times. It's suitable for dinner time or pre bedtime entertainment. 😁

I think many of our first love, that love we were so ready to do everything for(with an 'I'll be the person to fix him' conscious or subconscious thought) might have been someone like Ning Zhi Qian but at the end of the day, after being exhausted of it(because everything has a breaking point when unheard and unappreciated) we would actually want someone like Peng Guan Ying or some 'with not an epic storyline of chasing each other in circles' like Ding-Cheng couples and such like that
