This is the most authentic day in the life video ever! This perfectly captures what being an underdog is like. Even with all the big town's hustle and bustle, she still tries her hardest for a minimum wage job, and does so with a smile on her face. Major props to her. Hope she achieves her dreams. And thanks for highlighting the dreamers of your country. It's very inspiring.
some commenters are very rude. This video was very well produced. your english was well spoken and easy to understand, subtitles and camerawork was top notch. i was interested by ayano's story the whole way through, and i feel you managed to capture a true reflection of her personality. to achieve all this in 15 minutes is not easy, you are an incredible creator!!
This video is shocking to see. She works for so long for barely 45 dollars? And she has almost no money for food. She eats so little. I hope good things will come for her soon
Just because usa keeps printing money increasing cost of living doesn't mean that the rest of the world should follow suit and forget about other countries. Japanese economy is stagnant for few decades if u do research u would know y.
Eh.. 45 bucks 2 years ago (it seems your comment is that old) is actually veeeeery good in Japan. The cost of living in the us is just ridiculous. Even now it is not that bad.
@@Geekoo85 Hi, wow indeed my comment is that old but no I am not from the US. Don't know why you assumed that. And earning 45 dollars (I think they translated the currency like that) for an entire day of work more than 8 hours is not that much? (If I recall correctly) Or at least it is not where I am from but as you said it can be a normal amount for others.
Just so y’all are aware she doesn’t have to live that tight that’s a calculated decision she’s making to be as efficient and economical as possible. Apartments in Tokyo that size are like 3 or $400 a month. $45/30 days in a month is $1350. Shawty not broke she just not playing bout that singing career. This is just a different example of what dedication looks like.
I had a woman call me on the phone during her order twice. The first time to double check I wasn't an idiot and I would get all of her precious sauces (she way over requested sauces for her order size). The second time because the restaurant was slow and she wanted to make sure I wasn't taking a break during her order. Then for the first time ever I accidentally delivered to her neighbor. And she calls me again for an apology. She gets the apology only to give me a bad rating anyway. I think she got off on it. Even with all the service, waiting time, and the $2.50 pay with no tip I was receiving it is understandable that she would give me a bad rating. I guess it just bothers me because I would never act like she did. It is a bit of a Chinese finger trap for me psychologically. I need to start treating people with less respect so that when they in turn treat me with low respect I do not hate them as much for it. America has additional anxiety inducing things too like homeless people asking you for money at a ton of places. And with all the gun owners here I sometimes wonder during late night orders if everyone in the customer's house is aware that I am making a food delivery. One time I made a delivery to a house and it said not to leave it at the door but after a minute with no response someone opened a metal slit to look at me and I said that I had their order and I got no response. I think there was a solid chance someone was on the other side of that door holding a weapon.
I am Italian and I have been for tourism in Japan for 5 times turning it from north to south. The looks I met, the rush of the salary men and many other people I met, could easily be someone like her. It must be really hard to work so hard, to try to reach your goal, make a thousand sacrifices, with the sun or the rain without ever stopping. This girl fully represents the strength of the Japanese people, proud and stubborn, but kind and respectful. I love this country, their culture and those who live there who are always willing to help you. Can't wait to go back.
I currently work as a Doordash driver in Seattle. I drive my car about 6 hours a day or slightly less and make usually at least $100. I’m shocked how much less she makes in Tokyo, but perhaps it’s different because of the lack of a tipping culture in Japan. Tips account for about 45-50% of my earnings so without that, it would be very difficult. I’m impressed by her drive and work ethic. I’m sure it’ll pay off when she accomplishes her dream.
this girl is literally me. i am an uber eats driver also chasing a music related dream. but i dont lug around that GIANT bag on my back and have the luxury and comfort of driving a car. im never going to complain ever again. shes a soldier
It is wonderful and heartbroken at the same time. I feel sorry for her. She deserves better than that. I hope she will have a better life, she is such a hard worker.
it makes me sad, her lunch just a bread. her work needs a lot of energy, i hope someday u gain something big and ur dream comes true. hang in there sister.
Honestly everyone commenting how depressing this is. She’s up keeping her hustle and making it happen for her. It keeps her in the moment and she probably enjoys the smaller things in life than most people we know . She’s also a singer so the amount of heart she holds surpasses most Americans.
Wow, may God bless Ayano and help her dreams come true. Watching her work so hard made me want to cry. Keep going Ayano. You can do it!! I don’t even know you but I feel proud of you and I hope you become a famous singer soon.
I love her hustle and still had a heart to help feed the homeless. I usually don't sub to anyone's channel but I had to show some love. Props to her hard work ethic and never feeling sorry for herself. If I ever visit Japan, I'm buying this girl a bicycle. 😂
Ayano is really cute and hardworking, she deserves all the better in her life! I'm sure if she tried expanding her singing business internationally she would get a lot of support. Also, if I understood correctly, she was the one that design the t-shirt as merch for her singing band/group which is pretty cool. I could see that as an opportunity to make some money over the internet with design.
15 dollars a day for bike rentals adds up fast. She should really just buy a used bicycle and then pay a small monthly fee to store it at the train station. That bike rental alone ate up a quarter of her income, and she does that every day.
I'm curious about that too. I think having a bicycle costs less in the long run. 2 to 3 days of earnings could literally buy her a standard bicycle. but what if she wants to find work somewhere other than shibuya? i'm not familiar with transport regulations in japan. are bicycles allowed on trains?
She's working hard I hope she succeeds and becomes a singer/idol that she wants to. I seen the other video and just glad she's happy with her life because this looks very stressful for me. She's got a great personality to be happy with what she has and I think it's awesome how she's such a nice bubbly person even though for most people if they had to do what Ayano do, they would probably feel worn out with the work and stress. I hope her youtube channel takes off too to give her some extra income.
I loved how instead of throwing bentos away at her old job, she chose to have compassion and give them to homeless people instead. Hope her career takes off.
As a fellow food delivery driver, I TRULY admire her work ethics. If she does this in America, she would be living WAY more comfortably and make WAY more money.
I agree! Im food delivery too. I was surprise when made 100$ just for one night for 4hrs. Then i decided to stick to this job no boss, flexible time, and make money as much as you want.
Well she really is hard-working but thing main thing she is missing the tricks she isn't aware. Well see we might think food delivery is just like just deliver the food and earn money but it's not. If you know the tricks and tips how to maximise the earning believe me it will help really good. Work hard is good but without having common sense make it bad no matter what. Makes sense. 🙂
I'm in tears. 🥺🥺 Look how hardworking she is. This is a refreshing video I have watched from A Day In A Life. 🥺🥺 I hope you will reach your dreams and goals. 💖💖
Thank you for making this content for everyone. I was feeling a bit anxious about my future today, and watching this makes me feel like I can get to where I want...Ayano is a true hustler. I hope her hard work and can-do spirit brings the success she wants in her life.
I go back to this video for inspiration. I left my job, feeling burn out for working for someone else and unappreciated. Now I work for myself and strive to make my own businesses.
It's a good gig I feel the same way,so I have been driving for Uber for almost 8 years, depending on your City you can make good income plus you don't have a Boss I can easily make 1500 a week with only 40 hours driving.
Great job on your videos Mr. Ken Honda. I started watching these last month and found them interesting. I wish this young lady all the best in her future and hope she achieves her dreams.
I like this video, there are certain other videos that are highly focused on professionals, this shows the daily grind of a working class person. Interesting to see.
This is not a part-time job, she worked the entire day 😅. I’m impressed with her hard work, but she does not look like she is eating healthy (perhaps I’m wrong). I hope you get what you are looking for someday, with all your hard work, you deserve it.
Nowadays many Japanese girls go into the AV entertainment businesses where they can earn between USD 10000 to USD 30000 per video. This UBER delivery girl gets a lousy pay but I have so much respect for her. Hope her wishes will come true.
So just be a porn star is what you're saying? I guess a lot of people love Asian porn.... Late stage capitalism = slut yourself out for money LOL. I guess that's where the world is headed, then.
After watching 3 of your videos I realised that life in Japan isn’t what I had imagine. Many people are still living on the poverty line. We have many people in my country (the uk) who complains with a higher salary and local government supports.
She worked 12 hrs for $46, thats less than $4 per hr, she needs a better job, I would not feel lucky living in Japan with those circumstances, and living in a closet
I’m sincerely hoping that some of the earnings of her videos goes to her. She is just living a day’s wage at a time. 😢 hope you can read this comment. Because she deserves some little help. She’s hardworking woman. ❤
This is awful! She works almost 12 hours a day and only makes $60!? How are people praising this? Delivery services need to pay better and not just rely on tips from customers.
If we counts hours she worked around 9 hour thirty minutes which is not exactly true since she is working in her convenient schedule and not a work schedule she was provide, if she was working full time at a place she would have got 960 yen multiplied by 9 hours and 30 minutes, I think she earned quite a bit frankly. ( I am not a english native so it got quite long)
Also remember Japan as a culture do not tip! It's an expectation all employees will do their best job they possibly can all the time. And cause of the very high population in Tokyo competition is high all for the $8 minimum wage.
It's a little sad knowing this video of her daily life is going to make the channel owner more money than she sees in months. She works her butt off to make $45 and the channel owner who filmed her will make thousands off of what is currently 375k views
You guys don’t factor in the amount of work it takes to produce a single video. This is not a huge channel (yet) compared to other channels. Not all videos on this channel are super successful either. They don’t have many videos, and this one is by far the most popular one. It’s hard to tell exactly how much a video generates in terms of money, but in my experience 1,000,000 views have sometimes earned roughly 1000$. I think there are different factors involved as well, so it’s not necessarily 100% accurate. This video is by far their most successful one to date, and they have not produced many others. There are lots of costs involved as well. One of my other channels has 70k subs but I only get a couple of hundred dollars every few months. I use that money to help pay some of the people who assist me. Unless you’re regularly putting out videos like once or two a week and they consistently generate at least 1mil views , then the money is not so special. When the channel grows, you also might need to hire extra help, so even though there’s more money, that extra money goes to the assistants. The point is , generating income from YT is not as easy as people think it is. Last but not least, who knows, maybe they did discuss some kind of compensation, they also do promote her own channel
@@nateg5505 it’s like that for all RU-vidrs. They sit back film some shit and make money while the people they film doesn’t. Stop subbing stop giving to their patreon skip their ads. Do everything you can to keep them broke.
Wow I'm literally the same age as her and do uber eats as well. $40 is bare minimum because gas is like $15 for a half tank for me. My goal is usually $120 or more. I hope she makes it big one day.
She loses money daily by the rental fees of the bike. And with no tips, this sucks. By investing 200 dollars for a bike, she'd save money on the rental fees by the 20th day, then everything else is profit. Pretty woman, hard worker.
@@ayde92829 I like both of your arguments....and also true. Not being able to take the bike on the train, and saving money is a poor person's demise when everything is so expensive.
She is a very hard-working lady 🤗 I hope she never gives up on chasing her dream. I also like singin and playing some music with my guitar too but unfortunately I don't really have time to enjoy my hobby because my studies and work get all the time that I have. By the way, is there any link or her music where I can hear her singing more?
Hi Joe, please go subscribe her RU-vid channel in the description to see her performance and cheer her up directly! There are her other social media too!
I see a lot of videos from Japan, and there is something nutritionally wrong here - they all work extra hard, but eat foods that seem to lack nutrition (too much of processed food from convenience stores) - I hope things shape up well for Ayano - that girl put in some real hard work !!
yeah, this is not a part time job. hopefully things get better for her. but in reality, while it is possible to become a popular singer, it is almost imposible to do so unless she got a really outstanding talent
Wow! Much credit to her. She’s such a hard worker. It’s tough to make money at that job. It’s a sad given how successful and profitable Uber is. Seems like their workers are not getting their fair share.
Damn that girl is dedicated, however Uber really are ruthless. I estimated she was delivering for 8-9 hours that day for $60, that equals $7.50 per hour. After taking off her bike rental it's a bit over $5 per hour. Hope she can make some coin off her music and get away from uber
The struggle is real. A reminder that we all deal with and struggle with things, some common, others not. I have to ask, why not buy a bike..?? I guess she lives far from the city..? So frugal, humble and hardworking. I hope Ayano makes her dreams into reality in some way.
*_John 3.16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”_* _Jesus Christ loves you. Only Jesus Christ saves. Repent and be saved. God bless you, and the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you and your family._ ---
Wow. her day is super intense, she is amazing. Congratulations on the strength and focus. But please don't forget to take care of yourself. I'm feeling a little lazy compared to her, really thank you for waking me up with your pace of life.
Kinda feel sorry for her. She's working very hard and still chasing her dream. I can relate to her in some ways. Some people commenting are really disrespectful and that's a shame.
No shame in having a dream, even if it's a really long shot and I admire her determination. Every shot you don't take will miss. But let's be realistic being alive requires some planning and covering costs. That's hard work and for 45USD? What if the singing doesn't work? Even in 10 years? Look at some old timers like Susan Boyle who only found success later in life. This lady here can't keep delivering. She needs to cover herself if that happens. I hope she succeeds but also finds some better work. Good video in general.
I would buy a cheap bike or one that at least not as comfortable so she is not spending $15 a day She is a woman who knows the true value of money , I hope she gets what she wants
The way I understand Ayano is beyond! I’m a full time gig worker who is also working on her dreams and I see my day in her day. Gambatte Ayano! I wish you all your dreams come true!
I like such hardworking citizens like Ayano, who got dream to pursue. I;ve never worked Uber Eats but I could understand she could enjoy free time between work hours. She seems running strong and biking around Tokyo places. I think she could join rickshaw training and become PT shafu. It would be a plus if she practices singing songs while pulling rickshaw to entertain customers.
