I've never had someone do this to me at work, altho Ive only worked at 3 different companies so far. I havent had someone actually hate me but, when I dont get along with someone, we tend to just ignore each other and minimize contact with each other. We still try to keep ourselves professional whenever we had to talk. Also, when I or them would have to give out souvenirs, we would still give each other. That old lady must really really hate her and I have to wonder how that happened.
that old lady is feeling inferior when theres prettier and more capable person than her. thus she bully her, worst thing in japan is bully culture in work environment is tolerable and being assumed as common because most of them just want to avoid trouble and letting the bully do their deed without any problem
