I have been looking for this song, this very exact song for years. I first heard this from a vhs of an old anime and i never could remember the anime it was from. Now thanks to your beautiful voice i can return to it. Thank you, so freaking much. This really, just really, made my day so much better.

you remember it from record of lodoss war: chronicles of the heroic knight. opening sequence. they hit jackpot on that intro. the actual anime was just only soso when compared to the original record of lodoss war. and then the third in the series was legend of crystania. i think. that one confused the hell outta me. i mustve not paid attention to the subtitles or watched it in the wrong order or something.

Know what...? At first I was like... Wtf is this? And then I gave it a go. And listened a bit longer. I hate covers, I really do hate english covers of asian songs. But this - this is good. Some of the lyrics are really good...others I just find a little wonky. Either way, it is a valiant attempt. You have a beautiful voice even if the vibrato is a bit much at times.

Interesting. Nice. But - I'm not sure. There is something missing. And too much of something else. Hard to express in words. I could point it out, but that would take ages and countless refreshes of the page to get the correct location times. Still, it is very well done.

The Japanese singer has a bit more of an edge to her voice. The English singer's voice doesn't have that edge, and she uses too much vibrato. This song is like most songs -- they're better when you don't know what exactly they're singing about. Understanding of the lyrics only decreases the mystery while adding narm, and narm is never a good thing. The lyrics are silly.

ianwestc I disagree. There isn't a mystery to solve just a language barrier. And while this English version isn't translated 100% accurately it still conveys what the song was about accurately. There are two English sung versions of this song. One got taken down a month ago but they are both emotional moving. And I think that is the intent. Not some mystery.

@BlackRose D I don't really have much to say on tone/pitch/etc voice. It's more about the translation. I didn't really say anything about the voice? But I can see how you could assume it. There is another English fan cover in SoundCloud. Pimpernel pirate wolf? I think. You might just have to search kiseki no umi English cover. But I'd like to see what you think about the voice in that

I applaud the effort, but vibrato and embellishment are two things that definitely don't belong in this song. It should be solemn, as if the artist were praying.
