Hasselback potatoes are the national dish of Scandinavia. They have a gorgeous accordion-like appearance and are a great party food or Christmas dish. At restaurants, I used to make them as an accompaniment to steak, but they are beyond the realm of an accompaniment.
This time I made it in the style of making and dipping in potato sauce for a luxurious potato flavor.
It is a simple dish that can be arranged in many ways.

5 potatoes
3 tablespoons EX olive oil
50 g butter
4 cloves
2 to 3 cloves garlic
salt, pepper, parsley
Potato sauce
1 potato
100 ml heavy cream
15 g butter
25 g cheese
