I can see now how well prepared they were to play and march in California during the Rose Bowl parade and to entertain at the other venues as well. The "Orange Devils" are a superb organization capable of great feats in music and dancing! Watched them on TV and RU-vid of their performances in The United States. Been a fan every since I discovered them on RU-vid. Each and every musician is Great! Hats off to the bands instructors for their innovations in music and dance.

I went out and had my own orange devil uniform made....only kidding, but, I would love a KTSHS Band t-shirt, so when people ask me who they are, I can direct them to the thousands of RU-vid videos and get another fan addicted to the KTSHS Band experience, these kids are truly amazing...the KTSHS Band is a well oiled machine, every part working in unison, just an amazing high school band...come to NYC and amaze us...
This is one of the best performances of Tachibana. Surely it was one of the preparations for the USA tour. Thank you for recording it and deep respect for the girls and boys of the group.
I just found these guys by accident a few weeks ago and by God am i hooked. Honestly were do these guys get their energy from. They must be hours and hours of practicing to get to this standard. Am actually surprised if they do any School work lol. Honestly you guys you're parents and school must be very very proud of you all. Just keep up the great work. You are the most talented people that I've ever seen and you guys have brought a brand new level to the brass music. Again guys keep up the brilliant fabulous wonderful music. And all the best from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
There are literally hundreds of Tachibana videos if not thousands. You may encounter some of their practices and and it's tough work for these kids. I've been watching their videos for months now and I just can't stop smiling whenever I see new ones. Kyoto Tacibana is just great. Enjoy watching their videos.

I'm asking this of someone who out there in the YT universe who speaks Japanese: exactly what does the woman announcer have to say at the beginning that requires 2.-3/4 minutes of our time? I can hear her talking about heading to the Rose Bowl. I get that. I think I could say a few nice words while mentioning the parade in under 30 seconds. The Japanese seem to love very lengthy speeches. Former band leader Tanaka was a prime example of it, as you see at 7:00.
Here is a summary of what the announcer was talking during the introduction of the band: 🔸A very popular maching band representing Japan. These are the members of the Kyoto Tachibana High School Brass Band. 🔸The band has a 51 year history. 🔸The band represented Asia in the 2012 Rose Parade and next year (2018) will again be participating. 🔸She mentioned the band winning the NHK Brass band battle and the TV program "Journey of a Brass Band". 🔸The school is located on the hill of Fushimi-Momoyama, in the southern part of Kyoto. 🔸116 years since its founding, the school has been co-educational for 18 years. 🔸Since its founding in 1961, the band's motto is "Full of energy, smiles, and dreams". 🔸The band has currently 113 members. 🔸They have been wearing the familiar orange uniform for over 44 years. 🔸In recent years they have been playing swing jazz while dancing intensely. 🔸Conducted and guided by Hiroyuki Tanaka.
