The Enoshima Electric Railway, which connects Fujisawa and Kamakura in Kanagawa Prefecture, has rails that run almost east-west.
Therefore, trains heading to Fujisawa from Kamakura Station, which is located on the west side, will have the sun on their backs in the morning.
In this video, I boarded the train leaving Kamakura Station just after 8 a.m. and took a cab view of the train to Kugenuma Station.
In the cab view of the train heading west, you can see Enoshima in the direction of travel. The snow-capped mountain visible beyond Enoshima is Mt. Fuji.
Parts along the way, inside tunnels, and when the train is stopped at the station are omitted. I apologize for the fact that the driver's gloves are visible in the photo.
The sound of the Typhon at 11 minutes and 15 seconds is probably the driver returning greetings to the child who waved toward the train.

What a fabulous journey, love the way the line threads its way between the buildings.

Even with this, no accidents have occurred. The railway is a very close connection to the local residents.

Oh my god. To see that theres no need for security fences along the track shows how japanese people really respect their train system ❤👍

Isn't it good? There are many houses along that line that have rails right in front of their entrances. That railway has been like that ever since it opened. This is a traditional work.

However, this is the only railway line that can be used without fences.

A really great ride through a variety of urban scenery. I got a kick out of that race with the garbage truck. He looked like he was beating the train until the grade crossing tripped him up. I got a chuckle there.

It was an emotional car chase. But everyone who lives along this railway line respects this little train.

Both those who live near the railroad and those who travel to it respect this small railroad.

There it is again, my favorite Japanese route 👍 You did everything right with the early morning drive: just like in the late afternoon hours, the light is pleasant because of its warmth and softness, which means that the pictures are much more interesting than with the hard shadows when the sun is high!

Thank you for your comment. This route runs almost east-west. Therefore, in the morning, the view of the cab of the train heading west will be bright, and Enoshima will also be clearly visible. However, what I need to note more than that is the congestion rate. Around noon, there are a lot of tourists, and I have to be careful. However, there are a lot of tourists, so everyone is happy.

Travelers from within Japan also enjoy the scenery of this section. Many women are raising their voices.

Was the driver using the shisa kanko, 指差喚呼 'pointing and calling' method? Looking at the reflection of his gloves, it seemed so at times. In my work , I've adopted this to reduce mistakes when I'm leaving an empty house, the doors are locked, power is off etc. It really works!

Japanese train drivers generally enforce the finger call(指差喚呼). It has been recognized as having a great effect on safety confirmation, and has become popular among private railways. However, veteran crew members tend to ignore this (maybe out of embarrassment?), but this is not something that fans are comfortable watching. I feel that there are differences depending on the company as to whether they do the finger call as usual or omit it because it's embarrassing. It depends on the training provided by each company.

आपकी टिप्पणी के लिए धन्यवाद। यह एक छोटा रेलवे है जिसकी कुल लंबाई 10 किमी है जिसे जापान में बहुत से लोग पसंद करते हैं।

obrigado. Eu gostaria de dirigir um trem de verdade em uma ferrovia de verdade uma vez. Parece ser difícil em dias de chuva ou neve. Especialmente em descidas na neve. A vista da janela em um dia ensolarado sempre me deixa tranquila.

The underground track at 20:59, where does it leads to? Or is it used for maintenance purposes? Or maybe for transferring another rolling stock onto the main track?
@14ikesan12
@14ikesan12 3 дня назад
Thank you for your comment. The track you pointed out does not connect in any direction and ends here. Currently, most trains on this line are four-car trains, but 50 years ago, many trains ran with only one car, and at that time, trains were kept on several tracks at Enoshima Station. It seems that most of them are now used for construction work.

One small detail i noticed at 16:26, how does the track's interchange change that fast? The train could've derailed.
@14ikesan12
@14ikesan12 Месяц назад
The footage of the junction is real-time, with no editing shortcuts. This junction uses spring points at both ends of the switch, allowing trains to depart without waiting for the switch to open. A spring point is a device that uses the force of a spring to keep the track open in one direction at all times. Therefore, trains cannot be split into two directions, but trains entering from the side where the tracks are split can pass trains from either direction. Once a train has passed, the spring force returns the switch to its default open direction. Once a train coming from the opposite direction passes the switch, the waiting train can depart immediately without having to operate the switch. There will be no derailment.
