A Michaelangelo of our ages, a supremely talented visionary artist with masterful skill and a humbleness to match. He unrelentlessly shared his talent with the world through his exhibitions that opened and inspired millions through his magical brush strokes and immense imagination. Never in our lives will we experience this kind of artistic talent again at this scale and level. His work and illustrations will live on forever through time; they will be studied, discussed, collected, and talked about for centuries ! May you RIParadise, Master Kim Jung-Gi, illustrator extraodinaire !!
At the beginning of watching Kim's drawing, I was astonished by his skill. But after watching more and more his drawing videos, I am more astonished by his imagination.
He draws like he's just brushing his teeth or something.. it's like what his mind thinks, he projects them onto the paper. What a Grand Master you are! Amazing!!
***** and how about the saturation variation to show depth and atmosphere with nothing but black ink? with the argument above, i really think you are right at stating different gifts for each people.
felix Jr. Urot but if you look carefully, you see that the perspective is not realistic. you see the front people from above and the houses in the background from underneath. its a "trained" perspective.
Not to discredit him in anyway because this is incredibly amazing, but I'm sure he has drawn this specific piece before and is just drawing from memory. There is no way he is just coming up with the perspective and composition, as well as all the various ideas, of the piece on the fly.
Rest In Peace JUNG GI KIM Honestly this was one of the most beautiful and creative art that i have ever seen. He was totally a phenomenal artist whom no one can win. May he Rest In Peace
This man made me want to never stop drawing, and I can’t thank him enough for it. Nor will I ever have the chance.. I can’t believe how early his story ended. My heart aches so badly. Rest in Peace, Legend.
OMG!!! with all the intricate details, how could he possibly draw all those characters inter mingling with each other, in various angles and realistic expressions in such a complicated scenes without even the benefit of pre-sketching it???
The reason this masterpiece could be created is that Kim Jung Gi possesses an unbelievable drawing talent combined with an incredible sense of perspective and a photographic memory. When it comes to drawing, Kim Jung Gi is pure genius!
Please note - this man, Kim Jung Gi, is now 39, and entered art school when he was 19. Calling his art a "gift" is insulting, he draws like that thanks to 20 years ( ! ) of constant hard work. What you're seeing is the ultimate proof that working hard and constant practice pays off. Personally as an artist, this is the ultimate motivational video to me, since it makes me realize that if I practice enough, I might be a fraction as badass as this guy - then it all would be worth it.
shinobody It is true that basically anyone could become pro-level at art if they work hard enough. It is a skill like any other that can be taught and learned, with enough practice. However, KJG is not simply pro-level, he is a "once in a generation" prodigy. His mind is simply wired perfectly to do this sort of thing, in a way that almost nobody else can equal.
+shinburner Spot on thoughts :) And this applies not just for drawing and art, but it also applies to those who want to be scientists, doctors, engineers, architects, sports, craftspeople, etc, etc. The key is to practice and being persistent and not give up.
+Bruce K I totally agree with you. Even with sacrifice and hard not everybody will become a new Einstein or Mozart. Genius is a reality and that's why humility is even harder to admit for a lot of people that dream to be prodigies. Sorry for the bad english it's not my mother tong.
Everything in this work is impressive! He begins to sketch a cow, and suddenly the cow is perfectly connected to the rest, as he would have big part of this complex composition in his mind while drawing.
Tremendo artista.👏👏👏😔😔❤️
This is why its great that everyone in the world is different. Different ideas different talents, different styles. Everything! His drawing is so strange but it really sucks you in.
i am crying right now amazing man if he lived in the middle ages he would have transmitted alot of valuable information , but i am happy he is here with us
I can't stop watching this guy. He doesn't use any of the normal art techniques. No frame work sketches, no eraser, no perspective guide lines, no anything. Just a pen and paper. Truly astounding to see.
To a pro artist like myself, this straight onto the paper, highly finished art is nothing short of miraculous... And still... the word brush and ink champion.
he doesnt even draw like any regular/traditional professional draftsman. he doesnt build or construct the drawings in a manner that most artists do. he has the images ready in his mind and just "put" them there, in parts. he's (was) a machine.
He is world best draftsman, every drawing session is the greatest gift to me; once saw Picasso drawing on glass and camera observed him, there I was convinced never anyone could do better....I was wrong !!! I could try 1000 years and wouldn't reach...
I don't know how to say exactly what I want to say in english, so let me say it in spanish. Me parece sencillamente impresionante.
Translation: He is one of the best draftsman that I've seen in my life, outside of art books. The capacity for creating figures in various poses, with such different anatomy, the quality of the strokes, and how every line transmits movement and play's in favor of the drawing itself. The simplicity of the technique and in turn the complexity of the drawing. I find it simply impressive.
Woah ! You just made my day ! That's awesome, the way you're able to render such modernity using only classic figures :D And the perspective is insane !
