Jimin’s addictive! The Jimin Effect is real!!! And his voice is like no other…that’s why he has the best voice in the group! He may not have a ‘big voice’ in the sense of what society tends to call it but he doesn’t need that - the power of his voice hits in a different way. Jimin’s solos before this album is quite diverse. Serendipity has an MV but the live performance is a must. Lie only has a live performance and is a must. This is my personal favorite. There’s also Filter which also is a live performance. His performances are captivating. Just like his brothers, Jimin has quite a few legendary solo performances & together w the group.

Thanks for reacting again to Jimin! This song is so catchy… I don’t think it’s left my head since I first heard it. The vibe is definitely 80s snythpop, very dreamy and lush. And he’s rocking the retro 80s mullet hair to match. The song is so upbeat, but it’s a sad bop. You nailed the meaning. Jimin has said it’s an escapism fantasy, written during a time when he was depressed and spiraling, and drinking way too much (by his own admission). He filled in some of the lyrical gaps with inspiration from a movie he liked (Like Crazy), because it had some of the same themes of loneliness and escapism that he was trying to express here. Might just be my favorite solo bts track, it’s such an ear worm. And the dance choreo elevates it even more!

@@nickforell1 me too! I’ve never heard anyone else with vocal tone quite like his. It really stands out. It’s not a strong, powerful voice like some of the other members have. But to me, it’s sort of the sprinkle of pixie dust that makes bts songs sound, well… like bts songs. Occasionally I’ll hear another kpop group do a bts cover, and even though they’re very talented, it just never sounds quite right. And then I realize, jimin’s not in the mix, THAT’S what’s missing. 🤣

Jimin's album tells a story about a specific time in his life, during the pandemic. We are taken along for the ride as Jimin shares what were his feelings and what he experienced during the pandemic. The album has a beginning and an end. Jimin has also shared on many interviews his story and why he made this album. This is his story to himself, which he shared with us.

Actually if you have the time for it (I know it's not a priority since Suga's album is about to be released (and it seems to be another masterpiece, I can't wait 🔥)), you can take a look at the rest of the album to see the link between the tracks and understand the whole timeline of his thoughts since the pandemic ^^ I also love the fact that he keeps changing the genres of his songs and it's always so good, Jimin never disappoints, ahhh this man... 😭💜

Jimin said the album reflects his emotions during the pandemic. I think this song reflects feeling stuck. The English lyrics are a bit different, and to me they seem to be about alcohol. The great thing about art is that we all can take something personal and different from it. BTW, we know very little about Jimin or any of the member's personal lives. ARMY just doesn't go there. We respect their privacy. A great video you may want to watch is by Boracity Magazine, and it's about how BTS and ARMY are changing fandom culture. 💜

What I really love about them is they just go around the boundaries. This is his first solo album he could have just settled for a generic pop hit. That will be popular and successful but he didn't, he took the risk, he faced his deepest thoughts in this album that's why it's called face, along with the tracks' title that tells a story. Face-off, alone, set me free, like crazy. Notice how thought provoking the titles as a whole. I really think Jimin succeeded to express his point. I actually avoided this whole album because I felt very UNEASY after hearing the songs. After forcing myself to listening to his songs everything made sense all songs grew on me. I realized the real point of it, facing yourself is very uncomfortable because we're used to running away. As I observed, his MV's are not for everyone who are very conservative he's literally putting every taboo in the kpop industry. There was never a BTS MV that has kissing scenes or at the bar. In his set me free, he showed his upper body with tattoos which are a taboo also for some people. And he used very heavy auto tunes to represent his dark self. A lot of people hate auto tunes. He knows hate will come at him, and he hates being on the cage of fearing hate, fearing people's opinions, people's expectations of him that why he's fighting to set him free. Free from people and free from himself. I believe this album will not be his last since it's very clear he hasn't found himself and his sound yet, but this album is a must for him to create a new sound. Just like Taylor swift's reputation album which was controversial but she needed that era to proceed to her legendary eras

The visuals are mud. There was mud in his apartment at the beginning mud coming out of the walls and mud on his hand at the end. Symbolizing being mired in a situation that's not good but not really wanting to be free of it. It's asking not to be awaken from his dream.

this video and the dance choreography for this song are... very interesting. jimin is a thoughtful, deliberate sort of guy, and it sort of seems like there's something he is trying to tell us without TELLING us... because he can't. lots of people are saying that the presentation of this song is queer-coded. there's the prominent photo of robert mapplethorpe on jimin's pants in the bathroom (mapplethorpe was a photographer, active in nyc in the 70s, best known for his photography of the underground gay scene). there's the bisexual lighting (especially on some of the live stages). the stickers on the bathroom wall include the bands queen (we all know freddy was a gay icon) and the kinks (singers of "lola"). then there's the way jimin and that girl moving through the club are reflections of one another, symbolizing jimin's anima--his feminine side. it's even more obvious if you watch the dance choreography. jimin and his female counterpart do a mirrored dance duet, where she is clearly meant to be his reflection, not his partner (if that weren't enough, this part is during the verse where he sings "my reflection within the mirror"). then throughout the rest of the song, the other male and female dancers pull him back and forth, and both the male and female dancers put their hands all over his body as well, in sort of intimate ways. i'm sure i'm forgetting some other details too... there's a lot. what's kind of funny is that a few of the korean broadcasts where he performed this song made him change up the choreography. they switched female and male dancers for some parts, and the male dancers didn't touch jimin in those performances, like they do in others. korean media is really, really conservative, so it sort of makes you wonder, what was so insidious that tripped the censors? but yeah. being lgbtq+ in korea is still not widely accepted-it's borderline illegal in some respects. being openly queer would essentially be career suicide for most korean celebrities, and for one about to enter into military service, potentially dangerous. therefore, there's a zero percent change jimin would (possibly ever) come out and announce anything. IF there were something to announce, of course. this could all be a coincidence. but to those who are paying attention, he sure seems to be giving a wink and a nod, with plenty of room for plausible deniability.

I am a staunch army and Jimin fan and my favorite BTS song is Jimin's "Serendipity" but.....this somg is just ok. The best song on his album is the "hidden" track called "Letter" which is his love song to Jungkook. The two have been in love with each other since they were 15...though they weren't 15 at the same time, but it worked out anyway.

Just so you know we don’t know much about their public life (which is healthy for everyone). We don’t know if anyone is gay or anything (not that is matters). In Korea not knowing celebrities public life is very normal (for idols sometimes dating rumors can cause huge problems, sometimes end their career). We do know some have siblings. We know Jimin’s father owns a restaurant. Jin’s cousins I believe owns a restaurant (I believe Jin is part owners). Jhope’s sister is an influencer…besides this that is pretty much all we know. Even some of the members parents and siblings we don’t know what they look like (or just old pictures)… Edit: you should watch: how BTS army changed fandom culture by boracity magazine

Jimin's father owns a cafe. Jimin has a younger brother. Jin has an older brother that own a restaurant (he is also "recently" married and made Jin an uncle). We do actually know a bit more: sites like Allkpop, Koreaboo, twt and youtube have collected all the facts (+ wikipedia) Some of their families are more public and get mentioned in songs, at concerts, their social media, interviews and "scandels" (someone tried to call the police on JK for "advertising" his brothers clothes... except JK never did and is allowed to wear what he wants - but it is probably good that he left the position he had in his brothers company) We have a grasp of all their siblings - because they are at least vaguely mentioned - but I never bothered to know their names or went out to search for them online - it's some facts that are sidlined. But it is good that fans don't NEED to know that. Those are just tidbits my brain caught on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@@amberpearce710 Nothing wrong with that. I think that is the way it should be. It's one of my flaws that that is interesting to me and saying different would be a lie. It's also good to know that they are loved by their families even as some of them were not that happy with their decisions in the beginning. That is not surprising if you know the SK context. Like I said there is a bit information out there that comes up on and of. I just hate when people talk badly about them. They may have - in the beginning - thought they lost a son but they got 6 more and a few co-parents. I love that they all built healthy relationships. 💜

Wild Flower by RM is a good one for great lyrics. Mellow song. Beautiful MV. Arson and also More for JHope. Amazing MVs. Daechwita by Suga is epic! Also MV like a movie! Singularity for V! Breathtaking! I'm not sure about JK. Everyone likes Euphoria. Im not a fan of dance practice videos personally, unless you are really into just dancing. Because you see the dances in MVs and live, and it's way better so 🤷🏼‍♀️

I also think a live performance is way better than the dance practice, it's the whole think, the singing/rapping and dancing. In the MV most of the time you only have a little part of the choreo, that is why people watch dance practice/ live performances. A good example is this, where Jimin has no choreo at all in the music video, while in the live perf he has full choreography. Also, for Jungkook, I love the song "My time"

If you want to watch something and want to avoid having RU-vid shut you down a good way to try it is to go to another reactors Channel call enjoy BTS more she puts up bits and pieces of just about all their performances with English translations and they are pretty darn good there are some other reactors that use her stuff she doesn't charge anything for it because it's a way to see what you want to see without having RU-vid have conniption fits

It is his new solo title track for his solo album D-day that is dropping tonight at midnight EST. Agust d is actually Suga d t backwards. d t standing for Daegu town Yoongi's hometown.
