Japan lost its focus on the third set. I guess pressure to close the match got them so hard. Egypt read their attacks well and their counter attacks definitely a problem for Japan.

What a jaw dropping comeback we have witnessed from a team that gets only 0.1% of what the japanese team gets..I really wonder how far the Egyptians can go ahead if the balance can get even financially and technically but life is unfair

This is the Egyptian team. It was difficult in its final match against Algeria. It created many chances. It is a respectable team. I hope it wins in the upcoming matches.

I feel like a completely healthy and well prepared team Japan that does not underestimate their opponents could easily get really far in Paris but that is something Nippon has to realize on their own.

Most of the bets were stacked in favor of the samurai, and no one expected Egypt to win even by one set, but the spirit of determination and fighting among the Pharaohs was much stronger than Japan and its huge fans. The victory is historic for Egyptian volleyball, and the heroes of this victory gave a lesson in self-confidence despite the lack of technical and tactical strength. Thank you very much Egypt for this impressive match. Overall the africain volleyball has the potential to be good in the future, the only handicap is the fact that local and national leagues are low average level, no intense competition between the teams and the first 2 wealthiest teams will pick the talented, therefore leaving the other teams struggling. The lack of strong infrastructure, no academy , no funds for investment and lack of experienced well seasoned instructors and coaches, all of the above reasons are the main factors why the African volleyball didn’t improve and has always incapable of competing in high tournaments in causing problems to big teams.

We have won it this time It was a matter of consistency and now we have good young team despite the retirement of Ahmed salah and injury of Ahmed shafik we still managed to win. Hope we build on this result
