I loved this video Lynn!! I used to do so much solo traveling and I'm glad you've made this resource for everyone else who wants to travel solo but might be a bit apprehensive. Staying in hostels is definitely THE BEST way to meet other people! I *always* filtered with common rooms on hostelworld and kinda just sat around and waited until people showed up hehe ^_^. I also stayed at a hostel once where they had free shots every night, and that was such a fun and easy tway o meet people as well. My favorite tip for women solo travelers is to pick women-only dorms. I think the extra price is totally worth the money! Most women staying in women-only rooms are, from my experience, are very respectful and also always friendly and down to do explore with you :)
tysm kelley!! I was surprised I got asked haha but now I have something to point at for next time. hostels with a built-in bar are so fun!! I also tend to go with women-only rooms.
My tip would be to find a hobby you like that you can do on vacation - archery, rock-climbing, golf or even creative writing. They will usually have a class nearby to join and meet some people. And those walking tours and cookery classes are great fun🙂
