Oh my gosh! I save your vlogs for when I can just sit and enjoy and I realized when the August vlog video came out that I never got around to watching July 😮😮😮 so now I’m starting a mini marathon I guess!
Thank you for sharing your time in Rotterdam, the Market Hall was incredible. Your crochet bag turned out so lovely. I enjoy crochet too, and I like learning new stitches and patterns. Good luck meeting your goals for your upcoming shows.
Thank you, yes, Rotterdam had a lot to see and we didn't have much time. I am enjoying crochet too, just getting into granny squares!! It could be a big black hole for me to fall into!! 😂xx
Goodness, you continue to be such a whirlwind! Glad you're enjoying trying out so many different crafts. I haven't felted in quite a while, between knitting, sewing and building a bench and cutting table. There have been some long stretches of where the heat overwhelms and one just tries to find a way to stay cool. The top you're wearing is lovely by the way. Have a great month.
Thanks, yes, the heat can really affect my crafting, our hot spell seems to have finished so I have picked up my large temperature blanket again, it was too hot last week here. My top was from a charity/thrift store and I have had so much wear out of it, thanks for watching xx
Congratulations on selling both your items at Art week, well done. Thank you for taking the time to share your month with us , you are such a busy crafter. You have taken on so much but I’m sure it will be fruitful for you and you will be blessed by the experience as will we when we see your vlog 👍🏻😄. Take good care of yourself as well xxx❤️💕💐
Hi Val, thanks so much for your kind words as always, the Herdwick course is nearly done and I will email it over to you on Friday so you can be reminded on the horns position. I was over the moon to sell both cows at art week in the end, didn't think I was selling any but it always gives you that little bit of confidence when they sell. Thanks for watching and hope you are well xx
I always enjoy your vlogs! I love how you take us with you on your trips! So fun to see all the wonderful places you go. I loved your mushroom fingernails!
Glad you like them, I thought they were really sweet, yes, I had a few trips this month so it's good to make the vlog a bit more fun, thanks for watching xx
I’m so impressed with your crochet, needle punch, and dyeing! Such beautiful work. And as always, your needle felting is amazing! 🐑 What a sweet little foal you were scratching. Just adorable. 😍 We’ll be cheering you on as you get ready for your two big shows. 🎉
Another wonderful video, and your nails look beautiful. I miss needle felting so much, must find more time. I’m so excited to hear how both shows go. I’m so glad to hear that you are going to do both, it’s definitely a lot, but what an accomplishment at the end ❤
Thanks Shamma, yes, I really think I have to accept it as it's great just to get in to them, time will come for you to felt a bit more I'm sure, I also love it more after a little break too xx
Hi Pippa - good luck with making all your items for Yarndale etc. It's a lot to do but you seem to be making good progress. Love seeing what you've been up to as usual
Busy, busy, busy!!!! Nice images of Rotterdam, especially the images of the market hall (Markthal) not only popular with tourists. Too bad we couldn't meet there. Good luck with all your work!
Thanks so much, my son and I really enjoyed Rotterdam, very clean, friendly and very helpful people plus we stayed in a lovely apartment, thanks for watching the vlog xx
Yes, I am enjoying crochet because it is a bit faster than needle felting depending on your wool but it's also a lovely change too, thanks for watching xx
Funny you mention pumpkins! I wasn't going to start fall stuff but some of my FB friends are doing pumpkins this week on their lives so I figured I would join in and do one on my live this week. LOL
Hello from Kentucky. Girl, I related so much to this video. I had my favorite show cancel this year so, for some ridiculous reason, I added 4 more shows to my lineup for the rest of the year. I am constantly asking "Why do I do this to myself?" LOL I specifically added my next show, which is at the end of September, so I could sell pumpkins. I love making pumpkins, needle felted and wet felted. I also make lists of what I want to make for a show but I usually have a total price of pieces that I am aiming for. If I want $3,000 worth of product then I can choose if I want to make more smaller/cheaper pieces or larger more expensive ones. For me, it makes the deadline a little less stressful. Good Luck with your upcoming shows. You can do it!
Thanks and yes, my list has stressed me out a bit as I have been doing the online course for my Herdwick so had to ignore it for a few weeks. I am going to do some pumpkins because they are fast and will bring my number down. I have an aim to take £4000 of product but if it ends up lower then I guess it's still not that bad. My daughter always says "but you are in charge of your business" yet we still stress ourselves out with too much work! Good luck with all your shows, it's a lot of work but will be worth it when it's all done, thanks for watching xx
Love the work at the art day event I'm sure you will sell them at the art fairs will be thinking of you ❤ the foal was such a precious. Lives are fun I do one every Sunday 10am with Art and wellbeing on TicToc always welcome to join us 😊
Another enjoyable vlog thanks for your hard work in putting these together. Well done on selling a couple of items at the art week. Hope all goes well in August for you and your makes, hope you get that number down 😊
Thanks so much 😊 Yes, can't believe I actually sold both items in the end at art week, very relieved, the number is not much lower yet but just finishing a course, hope to start smashing it next week, thanks for watching xx
Incredible place definitely love to visit it especially all that yummy food be I'm my element lols the buildings are so interesting too 😊❤ you will be a busy lady as two Craft fairs is brave but good for you as you will learn a lot I'm sure exciting yes luv hugs 😊
Visited Rotterdam last autumn and loved it, the food market is awesome. I'm going to Arts in the Pen in a couple of weeks and will book Crafts in the Pen so will look out for you. Not sure what the difference is between the two. Good luck with your shows.
I think Art in the pen will only have pictures but not sure as I haven't been, hope you have a good time and see you at Craft in the pen, thanks for watching xx
I've made (well almost) one pumpkin, will be working on some fun gourds as well. And several Christmas balls. I'm just starting out, took my first needle felting class in June (we made really cute cactuses) and I'm taking another one at the local art studio in a couple of weeks where we'll be making some cute birds on birch cuts. I also have a partially finished herdwick that I need to finish, just not sure I like how the outer wool is looking. The wool you use.... is it combed or carded? The one I have is carded, and just looks a bit messy and I'm wondering if that's the reason why, or if I should just continue and it will look better once it's all filled in. Thank you so much for your videos❤ have so many projects in mind, wish there was more time in the day haha... oh I also made my first couple of etsy purchases, I got some amazing teeswater fleece from the uk that I can't wait to use on some future sheep projects, the locks are incredible.❤ much love from Canada!
Lovely to have your here from Canada, the wool I use is tops wool which gives a really nice coat effect. I have used carded sometimes for a coat but it is harder to make it look good. I am going to have to start thinking about pumpkins and Halloween very soon I think! Thanks for watching xx
Great video as always, lovely to hear you had such a great time travelling. And congrats on booking both events. You can do it, I believe in you! About something you mentioned at around 21 minutes ... if you want to share it with somneone the video needs to be "unlisted" not "private", or the other party cannot watch it. (You probably already know that and just misspoke, but as someone who made that mistake in the past, I just thought I share.) Wow, you manage to make a highlandcow that size in 1.5 hours? I need to time myself now...
Hi, yes, I think that Yarndale were asking for it to be private but yes, unlisted is the way it has to be so they can see it with the link. I bet you felt faster than you think, I always feel things take me longer until I actually time myself. Thanks for watching and I am focusing on the first show, that way it seems better plus I really do have six weeks in between. I'm sure it will be okay, I just want to have lots of stock but it is what it is, take care xx
As always, a wonderful vlog. I love your blue knit top! Pumpkins are everywhere here in the Asheville, NC, USA area. So I decided not to make them. I'm adding needle felted snowmen to my items. Around here they are popular thru January and February, yet not a lot of competition. ❤
Great idea! Especially if they are popular. Yes, I love that top, I got it in a charity/thrift shop and when I wear it to a wool show I always get asked if I crocheted it xx
We were very lucky to be able to go this year so I had to get some footage, it will be around the UK next year probably. I think I have to add pumpkins to my to do list now as lots of people have started! Thanks for watching xx
Really enjoyed you studio blog Philippa, thank you. Do you have a PDF for the multicolour seated highland cow you showed near the beginning of your blog? It was beside the alpaca ones xx
Hi, so on my course site on Thinkific I have a seated highland cow tutorial which might be what you are after, the link is in the description or on my website, thanks for watching xx
I see you are doing more dyeing. Is it because you want to get certain colors it is difficult to find elsewhere? Or is it because it saves money versus purchasing wool already dyed? Or is it just it’s fun? Have a great day!
Hi, yes, it's mainly for fun really to see what I can do but I am realising it is not very straight forward however some of the colours I do have been good so I may do a few more this month. Do you do any dyeing? xx
