This is a unique vegan dish, traditional for winter. Sauerkraut provides a lot of vitamin C
and other nutritional elements for the body.
600 grams of sauerkraut
1 cup of rice - 150 grams
1 onion
1 teaspoon of mint
1 tablespoon of paprika
6 tablespoons sunflower (olive) oil
Preparation method
1. Cut the sauerkraut. Place in a saucepan and cover with washed rice.
2. Pour cold water up to the level of the cabbage without covering it. Bring to a boil. Once it boils, simmer for about 15 minutes.
3. Finely chop the onion. Pour the oil into a pan and sauté the chopped onion for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
4. Remove the pan from the heat and sprinkle the onion with paprika. Add 200 ml. of hot water. Stir and immediately put in the pot with the cabbage.
5. Stew for another 15 minutes over low heat without stirring.
6. Finally add the mint and stir the dish. Simmer under the lid for 5 minutes and it is ready to serve.
