Hi, I have the Zoom H1. In this video I see that it can be used with an iPhone (for video recordings) INSTEAD of a lavalier mic. Would you recommend using both, a lavalier AND the H1, with the H1 as an interface to the iphone, for even better quality? ( I know the H5 can be used as an interface, but can the H1 do the same thing?) Thanks!
Igor confuses later in the video. I had a nightmare trying to sync audio. So I’m trying to find the easiest way to sync audio and edit. If I record a video (using iPhone) with the h1n plugged in as my audio when I edit I’ll just have to edit the video or I’ll still have to edit the audio file? Or the zoom audio will replace the iphones audio? I hope this makes sense?
Not sure if this video is still being monitored for comments, but I’m not clear on what you were using on your iPhone to record yourself? Was it just the camera?
This is great! It also works on a Tascam DR-05X. I've been testing a lot of equipment for students doing online music lessons and for them to make recordings, and these recorders are a great option for them that is not too expensive.
Very cool So does this bypass the phone microphone, and use the h1 audio automatically in the video saved on iphone? That would reduce the headache of having to sync video and audio on pc, youl help me a lot for an upcoming audio project if you can confirm this. I think this was what your saying but not sure. Thanks!
Hi, how about the headphones? The mic is working but i cannot hear my voice on the headphones, i am using iphone headphones. The problem is i want to be able to hear my voice when talking through using the zoom H1N. Can you please help? I’ve used 4 pin splitter but not working
Would you put headphones into the zoom? I need to listen to my voice that’s playing on the video while recording audio) (vocal looping apps and Acapella apps)
I have also the same problem as other users. I went to a music shop and we got all the gear and the iPhone records both (from the iphone and the h1n) is there a possibility to cut off the mic from the iphone? Anyone?
GOOD TO KNOW EVERYBODY: A MINI JACK TRRS INPUT USED ON PHONES CAN ONLY RECORD MONO so u loose the stereo ability of a zoom H1 device. Alternative solutions for stereo recordings with your phone? Haven't figured that out yet.
I get much better quality using my zoom into my laptop using the usb mini out on the zoom connected to the usb on the laptop. When you hook up the zoom lights up and is powered by the laptop..no batteries in zoom required...it toggles between usb card and usb audio...hit the big button when it flashes on "usb audio"...then you got a pretty high quality stereo usb mic. Wondering whether doing this into an ios device using usb to lightening adapter would work??? Anyone knows?
I think iPhone tries to auto-level the input when you use trrs. That's why it sounds so bad. You may try lightning to usb adapter from apple (with external power) and connect it to zoom, so the ios will use H1 as an external audio device and rely on it's settings
I tried to connect zoom h1n with samsung note 10 using gold plated usb c - aux 3.5mm male cable, surprisingly, the original samsung note 10 recorder sound better and louder than zoom h1n+samsung note 10.
@@TSTechGear So, I just need this, in order to record video with my iPhone & audio with my Zoom H1? If this would work, I'd be so happy! :-D www.apple.com/be-nl/shop/product/MD821ZM/A/lightning-naar-usb-camera-adapter
So basically when you press the record button on your iPhone you also have to press the record button the Zoom at the same time with an audio cable connected between the two. Makes no sense. You can do the same thing without using the cable.
For everyone interested in. I purchased a microphone / headphone splitter cable and a USB c Type to Usb OTG cable for my Huawei P30 lite. The result was positive in both cases using the Zoom H4n. In practice I can operate the Zoom as a preamplifier and send the signal to the phone: in the case of the analog connection the signal is sent via the headphone output of the zoom, in the case of the USB, making the Zoom work as an Audio Interface I / O (option of the menu). All of which saved me the purchase of an expensive Irig duo. Hope this help.
@@077di6 the great, most important difference is that with the cable, I can't get stereo recording, also if I enabled stereo rec in my app and with my Huawey P30 lite. With Usb a totally stereo recording is possible. As per quality I haven't noticed a real quality difference, but, I presume, digital vs analog has its importance, so I tend to beleive that Usb is a winner also for this side. Hope this help.
@@sandermashi8689 so can you explain what's the ideal routing for stereo sound? Zoom recorder - usb to type c otg cable - Huawei phone Is this the way or is there any other cable needed?
@@exuberance8876 Hi! check this video I made explaining this. If there are any doubts, feel free to ask. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qdKbYdWY4KY.html
You said you were going to prove your Zoom to iPhone connection worked. I didn’t see proof. You tapped on the mic to show that you were using it to record but you didn’t show what it was connected to while you were tapping. I want to see the tapping registering on the iPhone. You said you inserted the SD card from the Zoom into your computer. That’s not using the iPhone to record from the Zoom. If your method of recording from the Zoom mic to your iPhone is authentic then you should do another video and go more into detail because if your method is authentic then it is revolutionary.
If you would like to do this correctly (eg in stereo NOT MONO): buy a mobile audio interface: doing some research brought me to: iRig Stream This will enable stereo input for live streaming!
Better microphone = better audio quality. or maybe you missunderstood the video. Im not saying recording audio files ON the h1. Just using the better mic
If anyone is reading this comment I pray that prosper and achieve all of your goals also 👉 Never apologize for your success or your prosperity 💯 #DebtFreeTy Great video. I think I’m going to order the mic . It sounds fantastic. 💪
