After he lost Proof Eminem went hard with the drugs to the point where he overdosed and almost died, if he would have waited 2 hours longer to get to the hospital he would have died. This song was to let others going through a drug addiction or anything hard in their life they weren't alone and they can get through it and could reach out to him. Eminem has helped to very well known artists get sober one being T.I in which T.I has spoken openly about reaching out to Eminem and him being there for him 100% and also Ems partner in crime Royce da 5'9 when he was ready to stop drinking Eminem was there for him also 100%. Fun fact: as people try and call Eminem a homophobe truly not knowing the man that was there for him to help him get clean and sober and still to this day is Eminem's sponsor is Elton John and they both have admitted that Eminem can call Elton any time day or night and he'll always be there for him.
Yes he took a break when Proof died and he almost died in 2006 to 2009 when he came back with his album Relapse wish is Amazing in my opinion but critic hated it, if you guys are into Hardcore Horror you should check it out is a concept album tho, so is better doing it from the first Skit 🔥👌

Production note: Em will use "layered tracks" meaning he will "layer his voice" before he will use auto-tune. it adds more "bass/treble" to his actual voice, while being able to add a "chorus singing" sound at the same time. It is an OLD recording/producing trick that will bring a new range of "depth" to an instrument and a new sense of 'range' to the vocals. Which is strange because it is really nothing more than one single 'take' and then messing with the soundboards settings multiple times to change the overall 'sound' and then taking all those 'sounds' and mixing them back together into 'one piece'. So, that is why the chorus of the song when he IS in fact singing sounds so different from his singing voice on other tracks.
Seriously Em’s most important song in modern day as of 2010-2021 is Not Afraid this song introduced us to what Em was becoming he evolved and became better than what he was not just as a Hip Hop Artist/Rapper but overall as a human being Em is a better man than he was Em inspires me till this day and when Not Afraid came out I felt a sense of maturity from Em frfr Sobriety was the best thing to happen to Em’s life Em could’ve went out sad but he rose from those ashes and is back to being the man he was always chasing and is continuing to do what he loves and that’s having a stable life while continue doing his passion which is Hip Hop which he’s The Goat Of👊🏽🐐🙌🏽✨🎯💯(Also everytime I listen to Not Afraid I feel motivated and joyful yet emotional cause Em put his soul into this track and the choir was a nice touch as well to this track)

It means crown as in "king" and getting capped is in getting shot, crowned as in wearing a crown and instead wearing a normal hat(cap), but also is a reference to dental work where you can get a crown or a cap and both are just terms for metal added to teeth. a true genius and freaky smart lyricist
Eminems Image was the blonde hair Lex, in the later days he stopped dyeing it. Em had an addiction to prescription drugs which he references quite a bit through the 2000s, then he released a couple of albums that underwhelmed for most because he was doped up. 2-3 albums through the 2010s from a dude who has a ton of music is what people base the whole "EM fell off" bull crap. Lex start listening for those bars because he only gets more dense and intricate with the word play as he matures. By the time you get to the "Music to be murdered by" albums, dude is a complete alien.
IMO the GOAT. This definitely was a turning point for him where he basically cleaned up and matured. His album Relapse (the one before this) is easily considered his worst, it was a mess, Lol. Then another one of his albums got shit on; Revival. Which wasn't bad IMO, just different. Ever since then, he basically stopped playing around and started giving fans the Eminem they wanted again but on a new level.

Eminem is pretty vocal about his dislike for autotune. On a lot of his tracks he’ll use a hook from someone who can sing. On others he layers his vocals to create a better ‘singing’ effect without having to rely on autotune.

now to get a good picture of what happened between Encore and Relapse, do these 3 songs "De Javu" - "Caste & Arose" , "Castle" & "Arose" are 2 songs but do the lyrics version where his fans put them both next to each other . of course there are more songs about that time but these 3 are the best in story telling about that "dark place" of his . also check out "Difficult" and "Going Through Changes" , it really provide more to the story as a whole .
