That look on her face (.27) at the beginning! Hahaha. Lex isn't sure what to make of it. I love her reactions. But this is BY FAR one of their best songs. This song has so many surprises, breaks, it's completely unpredictable; it injects you with so much energy and you really have no choice but to let it take over. The guitar solos are mad, crazy all over the fret board... just perfection, in my opinion, of what a metal song should sound like. Rob and crew were unstoppable during this period of their career.

I knew you'd come around, Lex. Judas Priest are Metal Gods. There probably wouldn't be a Slayer without Priest. I've been listening to them since their 70s stuff (still my favorite Priest era, the Victim of Changes era). I bought this album on vinyl when it came out, then went to see them in concert when they toured to support it. Great White opened for them. Think it was about 1984. It was a LOUD concert. One of my friends who came with had just went to the doc that day to have her ears unplugged after years of not hearing well, and that was a big mistake. 🙉 She couldn't wait to leave, and was out of there before the encore. The rest of us almost left but then we heard the Harley Davidson fire up and stayed. 🙂

Nearly all symphonic bands use orchestral sounds in their tracks. Bands like Nightwish, Dimmu Borgir and Ayreon use this quite frequently. Every time I hear this song, I still picture the two of them side by side playing and moving in sync. It was a cool thing to see. Hard to believe I was in 8th grade when this album came out! EDITED: Also not to horn in on Judas Priest, but if you like the whole classical music and metal thing, you can check out some compositions of that some of the metal guitarists have done and played along with symphony orchestras. You gotta see them on this tour if you can. They’re also playing this song which is one I been dying to hear live! But the whole Defenders of the Faith album is a masterpiece.

I totally love Judas Priest! They and Scorpions are my all time favorites who are still around jamming from that late 60's early 70' time period. Lex when you say "Heavy Orchestra" I'll bet that you would like the Metallica S&M album!

Alice Cooper has small events at his youth community center in Phoenix. The center provides free lessons in art, music & production. Students who excel are rewarded with the opportunity to play along side big name talent. A few years back, pre-COVID, my niece's boyfriend at the time was one of those students. He got to play an event with Rob Halford. First, Rob's voice is as strong as it has ever been. But even more notable was the way he interacted with the kids rotating thru the set on various intruments. He encouraged them to get up front & rock the fxxk out as if they'd been jamming with him his entire career. Afterward, he did a meet & greet, pics, autographs, etc specifically for the kids. Someone of Halford's status doesn't need to participate in such events. The fact that he did with such vigor & encouragement is one of many reasons he is THE Metal God.

Love Lex's facial expressions on this one 😂! I was in high school when this came out and this tour was my first time seeing them. I was already a big fan but that show cemented their place WAY up on my list of favorites! 🤘🤘

This is one of my favorite songs of all time.....period. This was thrash before there was thrash. I loved Priest before this album.....but this took them to a totally different level. Lex got it, and it sounds like Brad did too......Gonna make him a headbanger yet.

Every song on Defenders is amazing. You should also do The Sentinel and for something different Love Bites. And Jawbreaker. Really every song on that record should be heard.

Hi There! First time viewer. I'm really impressed with your repertoire! Just watched Freewheel Burning & then Victims Of Changes as JUDAS PRIEST is still my all-time favourite band even without KK Downing. I have seen this group live more than anyone else. Afterwards, I played 3 Jinjer videos; Pisces and Judgement & Punishment [ including the one with Lexs ma] - all fabulous! If you like the feel, energy, vibe & and dual guitars of JP and the vocals of Tatianna, could I suggest Arch Enemys latest song Handshake with Hell as it is barnstormer which sort of combines the quality of the two. Many Thanks - Take Care!

This was my first concert in 1986 when I was 14. The crush of the sweaty crowd squished me off my feet and swayed 20 feet side to side and front to back w/o touching the floor. Then I ran out of weed and so I stole some from the cops confiscation table with 3 cops surrounding it. A cop car was also tipped over in the parking lot. In the newspaper the next day, the cops said how they were outnumbered. Concerts changed after that. Great show though. Hooked!

Now that's a good concert! Concert crowds used to go nuts! Even at my first Rush concert, the entire crowd on the floor rushed the stage (no pun intended) when they started to play Tom Sawyer.

I first saw Judas Priest in July of 1980, and I've seen them many times since. Every single show I could have wrung out my shirt afterwards. I swear, there were some concerts that I sweat so much I lost weight.

I'm a big time Judas Priest fan. You've not even began to scratch the surface on their music. The second song I ever learned to play on guitar was "Breaking the law" by J.P. I bet I know how to play more of their songs than any other band, with maybe the Scorpions as a close second. Glad to see you're still doing some of the old school metal stuff. love the videos.
