Nice choice! “Defenders of the faith ” is my favourite Priest’album. It’s metal of metal. Next, try “Jawbreaker”.

My first concert was Defenders of the Faith at 16. First saw them on MTV in 1980 been the soundtrack of my life for the past 43yrs.

They (Glenn and KK) have been playing for so long that they actually sound like one!

My favorite track from this album, so damn killer. I was a muscle car guy back in the 80s, so this became one of my anthems (along with "Speed Demon" by Keel, give that a try, it's fast & cool too). Glad you're into it, thanks!

Great song! High energy, blazing guitar work by K. K. Downing & Glenn Tipton, and scorching lyrics by Rob Halford. With Ian Hill on Bass, and Dave Holland on drums, this song is my favorite on the album, but the whole album is top notch. I was 18 when that album came out, and on the album cover is the Metallion, and I had drawn a two sided picture of his head which I had hanging from the rear view mirror of my car. Great job, Cadence! 👍

Reaction videos are just awesome... I was just thrown out of high school in 84. I had this on cassette tape and so I would play side A and then side B so much that the tape curled around the inside of my Walkman... All the kids ever wore were various concert Ts and you could count on JP, Kiss, VH, GnR, AC/DC, Rush, LZ, Rolling Stones... So great to see someone that was my age then reacting today. Remember, there was no interwebs, just some magazines and some TV shows. Kids didn't have all that much money and most people in the 80ies were coked out... Hard to believe that we all got so old... LOL however we all still rock even Rob Halford and the fellas of JP....

Cadence you should try and see them live on their 2024 tour. Catch them before it's to late, it maybe their last tour.

5:05 --the overdone outro was a staple of metal, especially in live performances. it was like they didn't know when to stop. looking back, (i'm 60) it's comical how those bands would just keep "finishing" the song as long as they could keep the audience cheering back at them. it was all part of the fun and excess of the metal scene. each band wanted to outdo all the others, so they were always striving for something bigger, louder, and more spectacular. sort of like the way the cadillac tail fin kept getting bigger for a few years in the 50's until the car looked like a space ship.
