Winning the bundesliga for the 1st time with a club like Leverkusen who hasn't won a trophy in 30 years against a mighty Bayern Munich who doesn't know what it feels like to lose a title in a decade has to be the greatest achievement ever in football history. Congratulations Bayer Leverkusen. When my Borussia Dortmund absolutely BOTTLED the Bundesliga title last year, I lost all hope of the Bundesliga not being the Bayernliga. And then Xabi Alonso comes out of the woodworks and turns this Europa League standard Leverkusen team into one of the BEST teams in recent European football history, all without losing a SINGLE. This team played the way Xabi used to play, always finding a great passing lane, one that creates a chance... I know about Boniface in offensive command or Wirtz in the middle and all the other players that need a ton of praise, but how envy am I, as a brazilian, of Álex Grimaldo. We used to produce left backs that were offensive weapons by the dozens here, someone that goes to the offense, crosses and shoots well. Congrats to Bayer, watrched them having some good teams that could not get through, especially in the days of Stefan Kiessling. He was on the stands today.
