Personally, with both Milwaukee's XC batteries and Dewalt's XR batteries, I've found charging to be almost an afterthought even in a professional setting where I'm slamming screws for 8 hours straight. I would at most need two to stay busy, because unless I was just holding the trigger full-time, I'll never burn through them faster than they charge. This even goes for my Milwaukee chainsaw; I worried I'd need more batteries to keep it running, but keeping one on the charger is pretty sufficient. Sometimes I have to take a 5 minute break to let the charger catch up... Dang. Lol

Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ru-vid.comUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. @HandymanHertz
@HandymanHertz 4 месяца назад
In my opinion, best value is not a brand. It all depends how much you use them. If you use them a little bit, the best value is not the best and most expensive tool. But, my opinion, the rigid and kobalt brand would be a solid choice. I would call them midtier with good warranties. If you don't use a much you can get away with Ryobi or craftsman. You get what you pay for, so it all depends on how much you use them. What brands do you have over there for options? To be honest, I would wait for a really good sale and buy a good brand, but that takes work and diligence. Also, buy them in multi tool kits (preferable on sale) instead of bare tools to get the best value.

Meanwhile the drills from both of those lines are shaking their heads because neither struggles at all to drive that hardware. And no they don't break your wrist under high torque as long as you're not holding it in a way that your hand will be stuck to it if it catches in the orientation you're running it in. I've been working with drills for a long time, and I've never broken a wrist... While drilling anyway. Looked like a dumbass a few times, but one with two working wrists. Just sayin'. If you don't have to use an impact, they're sufficient for lots of jobs, but not the best for any of them.
@HandymanHertz
@HandymanHertz 11 месяцев назад
A drill wouldn’t sink down one of these lag screw all of the way. Aren’t you aware that impacts have wayyyy more torque than drills? You should look up the specs or do a real life torque comparison. Let me know your results.
@Disktoaster
@Disktoaster 11 месяцев назад
@@HandymanHertz I'd say I've done one or two. I work a construction job where we each buy and supply our own tools, I've seen the specs and used multiple generations of pretty much every tool line out there. Professional-grade drills (pretty much anything in the 18-24v range) dominate at lag driving. Zip them down tight in about 5-6 seconds. I can explain the discrepancy between the numbers and the reality, though: An impact may measure over 1500 in-lbs of "peak torque," and its drill counterpart may measure in the 1200 range. But an impact is only generating that torque instaneously when the hammer inside impacts the drive shaft, and then it's spending most of its time generating little to no torque while it waits for the hammer to smack again and give it another 1/60 of a turn. While it's doing that, the wood fibers which flexed around the lag are springing back, pulling the cutting threads away from the fibers they just cut when, and pinching the shank and threads in place, meaning a lot of the next strike is going to be required to break the lag free again, and what little inertia is left will make inconsequential progress on any given strike. A drill is generating well-over half the instaneous torque, but steadily. So if it goes forward 1/60 of a turn, it's immediately starting the next 1/60, and the wood fibers we've cut are retaining their orientation down-cut on the threads, letting it pass much more smoothly, because the force hasn't let up yet. The only time it'll spring back say, 1/120th of a turn, is when it's sunk or you stop halfway through driving it to adjust your grip. Granted, this is also why they break people's wrists, but if you use them right, they won't do that either. I've driven thousands of lags and never had an injury from it except maybe slipping off and punching my workpiece, getting a little skinned knuckle or something, which I also do with impacts, lol

The average lifespan of a battery operated tool is 2 years. The homeowner would never get his moneys worth out of such a tool. Battery operated tools are for daily use on a job, not occasional use on home projects.

This has got to be one of the most laughable and untrue comments I've seen on my videos.

Yeah, Maybe. Although I'm not really sure how from a physics perspective.

Man, I'm so sick and tired of people having screaming matches about what color of drill is better. Like they're all the same. They're just different colors. They have minor differences. They're literally just like vehicles. They all function the same. They're all overpriced and they just look different. It doesn't matter what big name brand tool you use. They're all pretty damn similar.

Sounds like you don’t have any experience with tools. Walmart Hart brand is not equal to Festool. Just as Jaguar reliability is not the same as a Toyota Camry. Don’t believe me? Go look at resale value, reliability ratings, and reputation. So, they are all not the same.

Man I'm so sick and tired of dramatic jerkoffs in the RU-vid comment section.. Who was screaming in this or any videos? And why the fuck would you be watching these videos?

ordinary Milwaukee batteries are simply lousy, they do not allow you to give full continuous power... and only at peak momentarily

Interesting, is this from testing or from experience?
