Ingredients for varza a la Cluj:
2 kg of sauerkraut;
1-1.2 kg mixed meat, pork-beef;
300 g rice;
4 medium-sized onions, finely chopped;
400-500 ml tomato juice;
4 tablespoons lard or 60-80 ml sunflower oil;
smoked sausage (optional);
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper;
1 tablespoon dried thyme;
1 teaspoon sweet paprika;
Optional: 200 g sour cream and two tomatoes for the final appearance;
