Necessary products:
- Potatoes - 0.800-1.00 kg.
- Ground beef mixture or beef - 500 g.
- Onion - 1 head
- Oil - 5 tbsp.
- Salt - 1-2 tsp.
- Red pepper - 2 tsp.
- Ground black pepper - to taste
- Savory - 1 tsp.
For topping
- Eggs - 3 pieces
- Yogurt - 200-250 g.
- Baking soda - half tsp.
White flour - 1 tbsp.
- Salt
Method of preparation:
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into small cubes. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of oil and 2-3 tablespoons of pureed tomatoes into a pan, put the potatoes and mix them. Place the tray in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the onion into small pieces, heat 5 tbsp. oil in a pot and fry the chopped onion in it for a minute.
- After a minute, add the minced meat and fry on moderate heat until it becomes crumbs for about 5 minutes.
- After about 5 minutes, add 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of red pepper, black pepper, savory and the remaining tomatoes.
- After about 15 minutes, take the potatoes out of the oven and mix them with the fried minced meat. Pour a glass of warm water - about 200 ml - into the pot in which we prepared the minced meat, and pour it into the pan. Mix the whole mixture well and put it to bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
Potting mix:
- First we beat eggs. Add the baking soda to the yogurt and mix. Add this mixture to the beaten eggs and mix again. Finally, add the flour and salt. We stir the mixture until a homogeneous mixture. It is important that the products used are at room temperature.
- After removing the tray from the oven, apply the topping on the baked moussaka, return the dish to the oven and bake until golden for about 15 minutes.
- After removing the tray, leave for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
If desired, it is served with yogurt.
