LOVE Greg's take on her - I would definitely pay to see him interrogate her. He doesn't fall for the emotional "connection" she tries to use to score a con. It is impressive to see his responses to her and it is confirmation that he can see through narcissists.

Mark was onto something when he said “contrarian”, but it’s more. I think she sees everyone as her opponent and will never show any pain or regret ever. That’s the definition of winning for her. Basically, “your punishment and jabs are not even acknowledged. So I’m going to get back to my same behaviors and you can’t change that. I don’t acknowledge your authority and I’m the one in charge. You mad? Good”. Her only regret is being caught.
@citytrees1752

All of that is why I love her.
@L8MeGuess
@L8MeGuess 2 года назад
@@citytrees1752 Anna, is that you? Lol.. All of that ⬆️ shouldn’t be why someone should love her. Because she’s an awful excuse for a rebel or an immigrant. Instead, look up to real rebels with a greater mission. Her attitude is no social commentary, it’s just a pitiful “sour grapes” defense from her. Sad to see Mark joining the sour grapes club.
@L8MeGuess
@L8MeGuess 2 года назад
@@citytrees1752 All of that ⬆️ is in fact why no immigration judge will let her stay in the US. There are plenty of desperate, real refugees in need, and asylum seekers, and qualified hard working professionals who are fighting to migrate (perhaps like her own parents 😔) to a new country - that provides freedoms that Russia will not. She shows zero empathy toward such people, insinuating they’re just not smart enough. 🤦‍♀️ They are striving through hardship to be a valued part of the solution in these places. 🤗 You should save your love for them. And not waste it on this criminal excuse for an immigrant. She doesn’t have to agree with the system, she can enjoy free speech and criticize it all she wants, but she will NOT migrate to US to defraud the loopholes of the existing system. 🙅‍♀️ She’s such a liar that even if she married someone for a green card, the judges will sniff out the fraud. Deport her already. Maybe Mark can sponsor her and take her to London, where maybe he’d like to admire the spectacle of her exploiting Britain 😉. (No hate, Mark, I understand a sweet flirty face can be irresistible to certain people. There’s no mystery there)

I disagree with this. He is perhaps correct when he is referring to the scale of deception Anna displayed. But there are a lot of incidences of people being scammed due to being overly trusting and trying to help (e.g. think of people that lie about having cancer and receive money/trips/etc). It is true that every action we take is based on a motivation.

Speaking of Anna, going into flirtation subconsciously, and out of habit, I saw a documentary about a woman with dementia. Her dementia was very advanced, but people would be confused because she would chat and flirt effortlessly. Her patterns of flirtation were so deeply embedded that she was able to continue them though she did not have basic mental capabilities. Fascinating.

your conversation at 1:38 about her assertion that prison benefited her is Dead On. She plainly wants her enemies to see their strikes upon her simply glanced off. The old saying "success is the best revenge" is relevant here. She wants to display her current success and glory to all her detractors and pursuers - to show them their efforts to punish her have done nothing but put more coins into her coffers - so to speak... that their arrows have not only bounced off - but they've been gathered up and are now safely stored in her quiver.... she's a real piece of work...
@moirad328

She gives off the appearance that she doesn't care what people think of her, but her Achilles heel and her motivation is her vanity. The appearance of wealth is important to her... as is physical appearance. I just read that when she was getting ready to appear in court one day and one of her designer outfits was not pressed, she had a meltdown and refused to appear in her prison uniform... until the judge ordered her to appear. So although she protests that she does not care... she very much does, but it's in a specific area (looks and image). Her worth is wrapped up in her appearance. Maybe all her cons were just to get money to facilitate the upkeep of that appearance... the appearance of wealth and her physical looks.

Anna is Russian by birth, with Russian parents, born in a small town near Moscow. Her parents moved to Germany for work whilst she was still school age and the family took German citizenship. It is said she is Russian - German but she is actually Russian by birth and parents. I am British, have moved to France and taken citizenship but that does not make me British-French, I am British born and bred, I just have French citizenship to live here re brexit. She apparently did not get on well with the German Language hence did not do well in German School. She went to UK to finish her education. She moved to New York with an internship for a French fashion magazine and her parents had to subsidise her rent etc in New York. So this is how she got to New York and has always struggled for money until her money making scheme in USA. Hope that helps people re her background. She is a piece of work.

That much moving around at a young age would also help explain her muddled accent. I was raised by my southern grandmother in the Midwest, then moved to southern California at 14. My accent doesn't fit in anywhere, really. Kinda like hers.

Fantastic! A bunch of friends worked on the miniseries “Inventing Anna” and said it was crazy watching Julia Garner nail Anna’s strange dialect and cadence. Anna Delvey has a lot in common with the fraud who called himself Clark Rockefeller. He would be a nice companion piece to Delvey: both opportunists and cons, originally from Germany, delusions of grandeur. They even had a similar look.

Mark is completely fanboying over Anna and for no good reason. In 1:11:33 when Anna laughs at the interviewer's question, she is (as Scott says) backed into a corner and she is laughing to gain psychological dominance over the situation. There is really nothing smart about that, it is just a very common tactic of deflecting in an uncomfortable situation. If she had kept her cool and given a smart response, then I would understand Mark's fanboying. She only laughed to appear as if she is unaffected by the situation because pretty much everything Anna has done in the interview is about perception management and Mark fell for it, just like all other Anna's victims - hook, line and sinker.

She says she doesn’t need approval but I believe that is exactly what she needs. Did she not invent her whole persona based on the fact that her school mates looked down in her and the way she dressed? I feel she decided to become someone who people looked up to, a rich heiress part was perfect for her. My thoughts, for what they are worth!! (if that is actually even true about the school mates)

This is by far one of my favorite of all of your broadcasts. I like that Mark offers a European perspective of New Yorkers that is extremely accurate. Chase had a fun award, and some off-the-cuff fun remarks, which showed the whole group‘s excellent sense of humor, and Scott‘s insightful quips. Simile uses “like” or “as”. Metaphor (m for minus ‘like’ or ‘as’). And, Greg’s discussion of past interrogation experiences, techniques used and razor-sharp critique of Anna’s possible failed flirtation. Really well done.

I feel crazy after watching this analysis; I didn’t find anything about her attractive or flirtatious at all; it felt like she was uncomfortable in all the interviews, losing the plot occasionally (why is being in one’s 20s a discredit? why did she randomly start laughing and ask the guy, who was not amused, why he found it amusing?) and difficult/offputting to watch. She honestly looked socially awkward to me.

The banter here boys is HYSTERICAL!! Mark, is clearly impressed with this smug B , but then she did give Meryl Streep something to study. So you're forgiven Mark😁 then Chase, with his award winner, is at his most animated ever, and we're eating it up. Scott, normally the cut up, is watching the boys go wild and probably wonders what they are drinking. Greg, ever the lean mean machine, is hanging on by a thread, not to bust up and join the party. They rein it in, but oh what fun we had! Thus far, this is my absolute FAVORITE! You guys give me hope for the future.. LIARS BEWARE! The boys are back in town.🤩

Well, time will tell how she will use what she learned in prison. 99.99/100% chance she learned a lot of new con tricks to add to her repertoire. Her depravity is beginning to show in her eyes, attitude and botoxed swollen face. I assume she is being paid for her story on Netflix (?) .
