💦 We are heading back to Virginia on the hunt for hot springs! We spent some time in Virginia a few years ago, but there were a few things we still wanted to check off our list. ✅
But before we hit the road, we had to do some RV maintenance. We have come across a few very useful tools on amazon. Here are the links!

Bolar Mtn Rec Area
Close to the WV border, this campground lies on Lake Moomaw. There is almost no cell service here, as well as no potable water! So download maps and shows ahead of time, and make sure you fill up with fresh water.
Hot Springs, VA
Most of our activities revolved around the town of Hot Springs in Bath County. There are restaurants, shops and a brewery! It is also a great hub if you need a reliable cell phone signal.
Bolar Springs
This spring flows into a man-made pool. It isn’t so much of a “hot” spring as it is a “warm” spring, but at 73° it was refreshing nonetheless.

Fall Springs Falls
While this is a natural hot springs, you are not able to access the water itself. But it does form a beautiful waterfall. The falls are 80 feet tall and the springs are 77°.
Humpback Bridge
This is the oldest covered bridge in VA built in 1857, and the oldest remaining bridge of it’s type in the country! Humpback bridges are 4 feet taller in the center - hence the name. Check out the surrounding park, and maybe have a picnic.
Warm Springs Pool
Now owned and refurbished by the Omni Homestead, Warm Spring Pools was built in 1761 and is the oldest hot spring spa structure in the country. It also used to be a favorite of Thomas Jefferson! The pools were $30/ 50 minutes/ person.
Blowing Springs
We attempted to find Blowing Springs, where air blows through cracks in the rocks at 58°. We had a great time along Back Creek, which has many, many swimming holes along it! After further research, you may only be able to access if you are staying within Blowing Springs Campground. The whole area is absolutely beautiful!

Lake Moomaw
Is a beautiful lake surrounded by mountain views. Some of the best lake views we have seen on the East Coast! We had a great time unwinding, sunbathing, and paddle boarding. We even found our own island and did a dj! Check it out in a few weeks! 🪩 💃 🕺
👋 Hi! We are Thomas and Victoria, and we have been on the road as full-time RV'ers for almost 3 years now. In 2020 we sold our stuff and bought a truck and RV (all within 5 months) without having ever previously RVing. We are joined by our Adventure Puppies - Oreo and Barley - in our Kodiak Ultimate travel trailer. We hope you get some value out of our full-time RV living experience! Subscribe and follow along with our adventures, mistakes, and mishaps.
