Thank you for all your sweet comments! 🥰 We’re inviting all our patrons to an open house this summer as well so if you want to come and see the boat IRL, join the crew 😊
26:53 we call it a saw-zaw - pronounced just how it sounds - comes from the term " saws all " but tiger saw is a nice alternative - a chainsaw would probably have been the faster option anyway
We all couldn’t be more proud of you. And I know you are immensely proud of yourselves, can see it shining thru the fatigue. The part with 😅Vera pulling on the boat was perfect. I was hoping you would stage a scene where you two are pretending to lift one side of the boat and you say, “better get Vera to help”.
I would love to be able to be there but I have 2 problems about that, firstly I am writing from Brisbane ,Australia and second I am a 74yo invalid in a wheelchair 🤣! But you may be sure that I will be with you in spirit if not flesh! Be assured that I will be following your progress with your brave project. She is going to be such a thing of beauty and a fantastic way for Vera to grow!
Johan is one of those guys that is confident he can do just about anything. And his confidence is properly placed because he is talented, very thoughtful, patient in planning, and humble enough to learn from others. Good job
All you young people out there, who may be looking to find partners and settle down etc, watch and listen to these two people. This is what a healthy, respectful, loving relationship looks like, 100%.
That's the coolest project on the internet. There's a guy converting an Old DURACELL race boat into a cruiser, which is cool as well, but building a 50fter from scratch that's on another level.
Meticulous planning, execution and then huge sense of exhaustion and mental relief. With time running out before the onset of rain, it was such a relief when Vera came back to quickly move the hull back under cover.😀😀😀
Johan's meticulous planning, and covering for virtually ANY contingency payed off! That was a very smooth hull-flip, with no damages-- or even threats of damages! Smooth as butter! I know it's gratifying knowing the hull is safely back in the barn, flipped, and ready for the next steps. That was incredible!
What a wonderful job of engineering, Johan -- and I had to laugh there near the end when Vera thought that she could hop on her bicycle, throw the straps over the handle bars, and pull the boat back into the barn! Well done, you two! 💞😉
Simply amazing. I’ve been watching sailing channels for over 10 years now. This is the most impressive diy engineering feat I’ve ever seen. Congratulations to you both! 👏 👏 👏
One of the most impressive things I have seen in a long time - especially when you consider it was carried out largely by 2 people. I’ve enjoyed the careful and methodical work carried out so far and this is definitely a vessel I would sail on in any conditions without hesitation
Your smiles were priceless and they should be. That was an epic turn. Ran III is now upright for the duration of her life. I am so happy for you guys!!!! 🏆🏆🏆
Amazing job turning the hull over. We are so impressed that it's just the two of you doing this. We've been watching your channel from the beginning and also love seeing Vera, what a sweetheart she is. Jenny from Tasmania.
I can't believe I'm the only person on the edge of their seat watching this video from the other side of the world! There are no words to describe what the 2 of you did and have done! The intellect, the research, the skill, the tenacity, the drive, the stress, planning, and pushing your hands, arms, shoulders, knees, legs, back, and neck, beyond pain, all culminating in the Perfect Controlled roll of a Hull so big and heavy you look like ants standing next to it!! Halahleuia and Congratulations!! Well Done!!🎉🎉🎉.....I have no doubt Vera started the pull back into the barn! Way to go Vera!!🎉❤❤❤
You must be so proud. You are a flash-back to a time when a husband and wife worked closely together to accomplish a mission while raising a family. Well wishes as you move forward in your love affair.
that was brilliant.....and a joy to watch, basically 2 people turned 8 tons of boat over by themselves, using pullies, levers, rollers and blocks...fantastic.....now if any one asks you, How did the Egyptians move all those large stones around, you will say just the same way we moved our boat. Ran lll looks so beautiful, can't wait to see her in the water
One of the most amazing feats I have ever seen two people complete. Wow she is wide and will make a comfortable, secure and sea worthy home. Beautiful shape to the hull
Been watching since when you decided to sell RAN for RAN II. I am so happy for you, you both put your heart into this build so far, and now the interesting part can begin. I won't be long before I am again watching Johan scratching his head pondering his next solar system, take a break guys, enjoy the summer a bit as a family, Vera won't be this age again...I have grandchildren her age and up to 15...the time flies by.
The procedure looked very professional. There was no doubt in my mind it was to succeed... Well done... A wise man once said: Congratulations your boat is 70% finished, now get on with the other 70%...
Truly incredible! If I could applaud a room full of people I would. Craftsmanship at its best and what a beautiful hull. I can't wait for an azure blue sea to showcase this beautiful design.
When things were less than optimal but had to get done my late father would say “you can’t argue with success”. I think that applies here. Carry on. You have a beautiful boat on your hands!
Wow, full respect for doing that! Not just the physical effort but the thought before hand and the stress of actual doing it!! Amazing what can be done! Great video.
My uncle, who was an electrical engineer, once said, "I enjoy being an electrical engineer. It's a challenging profession, and it has provided a good life for my family. But I cannot help but believe in my heart of hearts that the true purpose of engineering is to move really big things."
When you first started this project we wrote you & you told us to faith in you. We looked in the dictionary to find the right words to express how we feel after seeing everything you guys have done. No words can be found because what you have done is out truly out of this world congratulations to an amazing couple 🌹❤️👍🌴
Just incredible!! You two can do whatever you set your minds to. Johan is a brilliant engineer, mechanic, carpenter, and overall professional. I can’t wait to see the next stage!
Wow - I can't say how impressed I am at how well you planned all that and that you managed to do it all on your own. I'd never have attempted it. Well done.
Have been watching you for years and was always impressed with Johan ability to learn and execute on something he hasn’t done before. This is at a whole new level. I am utterly amazed at how you did this. Both of you should be very proud of what you have done. Excited to see the interior of the boat build out.
So now we know how they built the pyramids - they had a couple of resourceful Swedes show them how to do it. Amazing process to flip this big and bulky object using only 2 people.
FANTASTIC!! WHAT ELSE TO SAY? I was so tense during the operations. I even cried a bit, such was the emotion. Very very very good. A real turning point!😉 Congratulations and a big hugh.
I find this more interesting than any of the 200 sailing channels that at sometime all show the same thing, perhaps with the exception of Sailing Florence.
Absolutely AMAZING!! The planning, the engineering and the execution of this feat!! Congratulations 👏 🎉 👏. And WE mustn't forget our salutations to a few heroic, volunteer trees; they were amazing, too! You two look so tiny, next to her while she is on her side. There is a good deal of living space there and I look so forward to seeing her interior layout! What a stellar accomplishment so far!!!
Amazing, amazing, amazing achievement guys. You planned carefully and the result was everything went well. You have also given the world a history lesson, demonstrating how to undertake complex rigging and moving of large and heavy items with no machinery. Whenever someone asks how did they build the pyramids, Stonehenge or ancient cathedrals your video should be used to provide a lesson on how it was done.
Wow! The engineering requires a competent understanding of physics. I am so impressed how easy you made it look! Amazing job! Congratulations on turning her over!!!🎉😊
This video was definitely worth the wait. Wow! What a process! But with all the preparations you made beforehand, you pulled it off seamlessly! Thanks for sharing this with all of us. It was something I've never seen before.
I had to be a part of this remarkable history in the making, just by leaving a little comment amongst many others. I recall watching you prepare for your first voyage together in the very cold weather all those years ago, I have watched all your videos to current day. The most chill sailing Chanel with extremely genuine people. This was just mind blowing to watch, let alone the massive efforts leading up to this moment. I would really like to become a patreon, we need to see this big girl get splashed and more adventurous travels to continue.. congratulations on this amazing Milestone..
When the boat was in the barn you could not truly appreciate just how big your boat is. It’s enormous! I have greater respect for you and appreciation of just how much work you put in. It will be one amazing boat!
To accomplish after thinking and planning is very satisfying, to do so based on your own, is a testament to your mettle, to watch this take place is the enjoyment of the feats that people are capable of. You are to be admired by those of us who are watchers rather than doers.
The Naval architect created a beautiful hull shape! The stern width makes me a little envious because of the amount of room it creates versus the old boat designs. Congratulations you two on flipping the hull. Impressive.
Well it doesn't get any better than that, a very challenging job, safely completed because of careful planning, common sense and an excellent companion. Thanks for sharing, a job well done.
You guys have come so far together it’s great to see how teamwork from my husband and wife can solve any problem. They put their mind to after getting that boat outside. I’m amazed at the size of it. It just grows so fast so big. Hope you get some rest you deserve it, take time for each other. Look forward to your next episodes.
The hull is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a masterpiece in terms of composite boat construction, it looks so stiff! Flipping that hull with mostly just the two of you is quite an achievement, but in my opinion the greatest achievement is the partnership between both of you. Building such a strong faith in your wife/husband is the cornerstone for big realizations. Congratulations to you two, it’s an immense pleasure to watch your channel.
I have been very imressed with every stage of the hull build so far, but the thought and engineering of the frames to roll the hull over has been the most impressive so far. Fantastic job turning the hull over and telling the story. You two are quite the team.
Your saga makes me understand a Viking Long boat was a Family effort, regardless of the legends, Thank you for sharing, as an engineer, I felt every creak and grown of the wood and fiber, I wish you luck and happiness
In a word, unbelievable! The planing and preparation must have been intense for the two of you, but you pulled it off. The quality of your video was superb and I can’t believe you were able to get that much content WHILE rolling the hull. Amazing! Can’t wait for the next episode after you get some well deserved rest.
Didn’t think I would be interested in the building of a boat but have found it quite interesting and admire your skill and perseverance. I’ll admit sometimes I’ve skimmed through some episodes but this one was really exciting! Congratulations.
I love the way you use everything around you to do the hard tasks. like trees, cars, etc. It is inventive and resourceful. I try to do that also - on much smaller projects.
Finally, what everyone has been anticipating. You have done a wonderful job and it is awesome your plans worked perfectly. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished. Can't wait to see what comes next.
You have to "love it when a plan comes together" and what a superb plan it was, which you importantly safely executed. The hull outside, especially seeing the stern, really put the scale of this boat in perspective. The transome is so much wider than I appreciated.
Great job on the move and outstanding video. You are a great team I was a docking officer in a floating drydock and was very impressed with your professionalism in this move. I can hardly wait to see the innovations you develop in the rest of this great project.
I have seen your labours for sometime now! But today I have witnessed one of the most extraordinary feats I that have ever watched happen! Sir ( not used lightly) and madame you have accomplished a glorious feat of engineering; flawlessly because of the talented people you are! Bravo
Congratulations on such a well planned operation - I am very impressed and watching this process was so very interesting & inspiring - my Wife & I did a really nice project together this weekend and, at least for me, it is like a Date. My appreciation for her and how well we work together feels so good in the Soul. You two seem to have that extra special vibe of deep respect for each other that makes a Marriage extra wonderful. Life is Good - thank you for sharing your inspiring journey
Can only imagine how great that feeling must have been to get the hull back into the shed after the successful flip. I watched this with huge respect and admiration for the great job you're doing. Filming on top of all that work is no mean feat! Bra gjort! 🎉
What an Amazing feat that was and the perfect video to come up to date on after binging the whole build. Im looking forward to every weekend for the next 4 years to see how she comes along. A truly inspiring relationship aswell. Much love from New Zealand
ALL I can say is WOW! Great Job. And look at l the money you saved. Can't wait tell next week's video. Thank You Again for a Great video 📹 this week. So until next time ⏲️, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and cheers 🍻
Congratulations on this milestone. The two of you are a tremendous team. It is amazing what you can accomplish when you have a well thought out plan and coordinated effort. Well done!
So proud of you guys, Juan you are a genius in how you figured out how to do this turn!! Using what you had, trees, cars, etc. absolutely genius. You two deserve a well earned vacation! Hugs from Arizona, USA 🥰🙋♀️🌹
