In 1980 I installed Nitrous on my Z-28 Camaro .. manual shift .. 110 HP booster.. Had to have the throttle down and the switch on .. It worked just fine that way .. but now I want to put an LS Motor in it with a Haltech Controller and run E-85 ect..

These truly ARE the best Tutorials on RU-vid!!! Scotty you're a Madman! I wish I could pick your brain. I'm an old school Rodder... In fact I turned 56 this morning! Nitrous back in the 80's was an analog wet system. The most complex I got... You know how a Holley vacuum Secondary Carb works. I'd have a switch on the Throttle, stage one... Then a second switch on the Secondary Throttle lever. When the Vacuum Motor opened the Secondaries beyond about 30%, the second switch activated. That was our "2 Stage".... And about as complicated as Street systems got back then! 😁 Carmine ✈🚂🚙

great tech talk! Thankyou. I spent a long time and a few pistons setting up my kit a 'few' years back and got amazing results. I used lpg instead of petrol, the engine responded so well using nitrous! Currently my 78 yr old mother runs her Mustang GT on a 150 shot at the strip.

I'm cheating a little bit, I am using the nitrous function to operate a solenoid to close a spool assist valve on a divided turbine housing! 😎 Edit: yes I could have done a conditional generic channel but this way adds way more functionality and tuning options

i would like to know how some teams use nitrous as an turbo anti lag strategy do we follow the same steps as in your video or we need a different automated nitrous strategy using speed sensors, throttle sensors and turbo pressure?

He sort of mentioned doing it by setting up the enable parameters such that the kit will be active between manifold pressures of say -2psi to 10psi and maybe the rpms to 2500-4500 or where ever is appropriate/necessary for lighting off your turbo.

Scotty Is there anyway the nitrious injection can be automatically injected based on a certain throttle or only in certain load-points in the map, so the user doesn't have to press a button on the dash to turn it on. This could be useful for people who want to run a very much larger turbo on a smaller engine who simply want it to spool quicker, using nitrious simply to get the turbo to begin spooling in a area of the map where it simply does nothing when you mash the gas.

A question about Nitrous Oxide in Australia. I heard it is diluted with Sulfur Dioxide slightly. Is this done for any other reason other than kill the party?

dazaspc, I believe all non medical grade nitrous oxide has sulfur in it, same in the US.

Just adding to the others: sulfur dioxide smell like rotten eggs. Yes, that makes it very uncomfortable to attempt to use as a recreational drug, but it also makes it very unlikely that you blow yourself up by accident.

There is some good programming levels there. So it would be possible to run a system rather than a turbo or charger just for times when you want more power without the physical hardware of forced injection?

Unlike a turbo or a supercharger setup, a nitrous system will only work when it's asked (programmed) to. So you can drive around with a Nitrous system without using it at all and only enable it on say track days.

Just so everyone understands.... ... nitrous is very easy to use!!! .....As in all power upgrades... all you have to do is follow the manufacturers recommendations EXACTLY and you won't have a problem!!! I have put 30+ 10lb bottles at 150hp through my stock bottom end sbc with no problems at all!!! Just saying!!!
