I this video I answer a question for William Oliva. William asked if the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1600 can scan documents and save them as individual files. Check out the video for more.
You solved my dilemma of how to scan multiple recipe cards at once and split them into separate files. Thank you! Will save me LOTS of time as I preserve my mom’s billion or so recipes for the family! Your channel is an excellent resource, thanks again.
I'm thrilled to hear that the video helped you with scanning your recipe cards! Preserving family recipes is such an important task, and I'm glad my channel could assist you in that endeavor. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out anytime. Happy scanning!
Hi, I've looked at all the specs and your videos on the Scan Snap ix1600 and can't find defiantly if it will scan a 11" x 17" document. I have a scan snap now but its too small for that size. Can anyone answer that? Thanks
Hi Sean, Thank you for your videos. They are very informative. I tried researching the ix 1600 manual regarding how to scan a single side of a double sided paper and was not able to find the answer. How do you do this without having to scan both sides of the document and then deleting the 2nd side?
There are lot of cool pdf tools out there pdf toolkit, itext, etc. Collating and separating documents can be done also afterwards. My approach is to sort out the single ones in one go and then the multi sided documents. If you have more than 30 pages to organise, prefer to make them single pdfs as collation can be done flexible later.
Hi Sandro. It's true. There is a lot of great software out there. I have been using Adobe Acrobat for a long time and I think that it's worth it, but to each there own, and many of the tools are free. Thank you for sharing all of that. I appreciate it. 😊👍
Hi Sean, always nice video and very informative. Can you show how to configure scan to email on ix1300. I always got a message saying “email program not set up”. I don’t use outlook but I use gmail and yahoo mail. Why it doesn’t show a box where I can enter my email address? Can you make a video on this? Appreciate that.
I have the IX1600 and tried using the scan receipts profile and found it would not give me the option to make it searchable. I tried playing with the settings and no luck. So feeling frustrated I reached out to Ricoh and spoke with an agent who said it should work by default to have a searchable pdf. I let the agent tap into my computer and he too could not get it to work. He reached out to his higher up tier 3 support and then called me back. (great service Rob) Well the bad news is this is a known issue and they did not have a fix for me but siad it may be addressed in the future. All their videos seem to show what I wanted was built in. The agent told me I could use scan a document instead if using the receipts profile. Well at this point I am thinking of looking at other brands. Are you aware of this issue?
I have an iX1600, and performed the latest firmware update, ScanSnap Home software running on MacOS 13.1. I want the scenario you showed first (Each "sheet" is a PDF document... if front and back, it is a 2 page document, otherwise one page document). However, mine is acting like your jpeg example where each non-blank page results in a separate PDF document. I verified all my settings are the same as what is visible on the video. Did they change how this works? If so, any ideas for making it work like your first example. Thanks
Hi Sean, I'm new to you (as of today) - great video on "scan each page". In February, I replaced my ix500 for the ix1600. Software is clearly an upgrade but I'm having trouble finding the 'simple answer' to some questions. For example, how do I set the "scan backup" or "scans saved to" a certain folder? I have been cutting/pasting files into a "saved folder" but it's tedious. Is there an "auto" setting to make this happen without me having to do it 'manually'? Also, once I've saved scans to my folder on a separate drive, should I or could I delete all the scans in ScanSnap Home? Meanwhile, I'll start this weekend going thru your videos for more tips. Thank you for making these available to us! Jim B.
Hi Jim. Thank you very much for the kind words. Please excuse my delay in getting back to you. Congratulations on replacing your iX500 with an iX1600. I hope that you are loving it. Did you find the answers to your questions in the ScanSnap Home software? There are settings to choose your scan location for each profile so ideally this is what you mean and you do not need to keep manually cutting and pasting files. In my experience, if you delete scans from ScanSnap Home, this doesn't necessarily delete the file itself; it just removes it from ScanSnap Home, which is something of an overlay to the standard operating system explorer software, and helps with organizing scans. I hope this helps and that perhaps you found the answers in some of my other videos. 🙂👍
Hi John. I made a video on this in relation to the iX1300 but I believe that it works the same for the iX1600. Please take a look: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VVdeA8WUWAE.html. 👍
Hi Rachel. Please excuse the delay in my response. The holiday season was busy for me. Do you still want an answer to this? I believe that it should be easy enough to achieve the effect you are looking for within the ScanSnap Home software. Please let me know and I can perhaps make a video to walk you through it. 🙂
Hi sean, Today i setting up the scansnap ix1600. was scanned to page 10 -1 as down to up. If i choosed the rotate arrows still nothing solutions please help me Thanks
Hey there! Are you still experiencing this issue? Have you tried checking the settings to ensure everything is configured correctly? If the rotate arrows aren't working, there might be a setting that needs adjustment. Have you ensured that your software is up-to-date? I updated my software yesterday and find that it sometimes helps with issues.
Hmm. That's odd. If you set the output format to .JPEG, it should stay that way and export to .JPEG (not. PDF). I've never had an issue with that. Is it still not working properly?
Hi Luis. Do you mean like separator pages with patch codes? If so, I don't think that the ScanSnap series (including the iX1600) can do that. I think you would need something like the fi-8170. If you want to take a look, I made a review video which you can check out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ipdo6Gt62z0.html
Our old scansnap scanners let us scan batches of checks to one file. Now it scans them to separate pages. How can I get them to scan all to one page or one file now?
Hi there. I think that you can indeed add pages to an existing PDF using the ScanSnap Home software, though I haven't tried it recently. I think it is possible to simply drag-and-drop pages into a document. I'm on vacation right now and I'm away from my office but if you like, I can try it when I get home and let you know. 😊
