Hi dr. Ben I was wondering why you didn’t use hot air gun to detach BMS from battery. It’s much easier to operate for me. I’m not sure about overheating other components on BMS board but it’s really short time and controlled temperature?

JCID-V1S Pro programmer is used for iPhone screen original color, Face ID, battery, receiver FPC cable vibration data reading and writing repair, DFU purple screen mode, etc.

Excellent video Dr Ben. I have used this JC tag method to replace my iphone 12 Pro Max battery that was at 73% and so was showing the service message 'your battery health is significantly degraded'. I replaced the battery and set the health to 100% and cycle count to zero. Even though the health is showing as 100%, the service message is still there? Why is this and how do I remove it? Thanks

Hey Ben amazing video I really love your job. My question is. Do I have to keep the tag on flex inside the phone after I reprogram the BMS board?. I have the qianli programmer and i2c (I’ve done the job in an iPhone 12 and 11 which require the tag on flex). Too many opinions on the topic. I even asked qianli and they said that I have to keep it in the phone permanently. Others are saying that you can remove it and use it again. What’s your opinion? Thanks.

Unless you have shares in JC you can remove the flex safely afterwards! It works and keeps working without the flex. Also after updates.

You can either leave it inside the phone (correct way) or take it out but if you do so, you can have problems like battery going into maintence even above 79%. That's the only problem I've notice

I replace BMS all the time and i never use the tag on flex, i just reset the original BMS with the V1S to 0 cycle and the battery state to 103% like Apple does and it work. I didn't get why you use the flex tag... The flex tag is use if you do NOT replace the BMS you just write the old battery on it and put the flex on the new one so the logic board will read the flex who work as the BMS instead.

Thank You for the video! Do you use low melt 138C soldering wire here or something else? I would rather use solder as well, you can achieve better connection this way compared to spot welding imho.

Hello Dr. Ben I've replaced thousands of battery so far. At first I used to do just like you but I've lost some BMS on the way and I supposed it was because of the heat Applied to the board. After that I've started using spot welder (but it sucks since it's harder to make it stick kkkkkk). Do you have some informations about it?

Have always seen spot welding and have always done spot welding for these core batteries but never seen the using solder paste to connect it to the battery board 😳

It’s not a paste. It’s a special solder wire.

Iphone 11. iOS 16.5. I rewired the chip, and overwritten the information on the jcid chip. But it was 74%, on a new battery it shows the same 74%. What could be the reason ? 🙏🏼

I tried this for the first time with an iPhone 11 Pro battery and a JC V1SE. When I attach the tag on flex to the programmer and try to “activate” it, I get the error “no repair cable detected”. What am I doing wrong, or is there something wrong with the V1SE? Thanks for the help!

@@henriksvensson2836 No I never did. I think it didn't work because my JC V1SE does not have the wifi module installed. I believe if the programmer is connected to wifi, the process should work.

Regarding your suggestion at the end... I wouldn't put an iPhone 12 battery in an iPhone 12 mini, if I were you... unless you want to connect (battery +) to (board GND) and (board +) to (battery -). Something bad is bound to happen.

@@RESQREPAIR Yes, sorry, I misheard. My bad. However, my comment was not meant aggressively or to make fun, I'm not sure that kind of response is needed. I was just trying to prevent people from putting the wrong battery in and damaging their devices. I guess the more general advice I wanted to give was to check parts compatibility before you take a part from a device and connect it to another.
