Very quiet ru-vid.comUgkx_hHgTlzH3uk31Fe2RVS3xEbXHGaN_z5T2. Timer and auto functions work very well.3. Doesn't stick out into the room as much as I thought it would!4. Definitely watch a youtube video of some sort for installation as the written directions can be difficult to interpret for certain types of windows (as was my case.)Because our windows slant outwards, the bracket didn't seem like it was going to work right. My friend was able to create some additional bracing and it works fine.
From someone that has been restaurant industry my entire life, but has done construction for a couple years. My first day I threw up working my ass off but kept going and ended up being Forman because I was trusted by the owner. I knew enough, but I loved that the guys respected me enough to know that they knew more and still would teach me! I was reciprocal in how they were treated! I am still incredibly anal about drywall and can spot a bad seam from a mile away because i learned from a perfectionist... Its a gift and a curse! But thank you for these videos!
I have a small job around a gas fireplace soon. Hoping to get some pointers off this video. Never heard of the primer you are using. Thanks for helping teach people and giving confidence to tackle jobs.
For the yellowing, white grout guy: it could be the sealer that is yellowing the white grout. A lot of sealers will yellow over time so get a sealer that guarantees to stay clear (won't yellow).
I like how you said you don't know everything. Nobody does. I can't stand when people act like they know more than they do. And they don't know how to turn the laser on so they use a 6' level to do layout for siding on an entire house. Starting from a new spot on every wall and not from the low point. Smh😢. Keep doing your thing brotha. Ive been in construction for 24 years and I learn new stuff all the time, even from younger less experienced people. There is no shame in that.
Hey partner just wanted to throw out there that gypsum based SLU (Self Leveling Underlayment) would be something like gyp crete, which is gypsum concrete, not sure that specific primer is good to use on actual wall board. I’m sure it will work just fine also not trying to hate, just a drywall contractor here trying to help out a fellow tradesman.
I am not an expert and don't claim to be one. But I can install floor tile no issues. But I have mad respect for someone who installs large wall tile that looks good. A relative of mine had a bathroom redone. It was large wall tile. It was really nice tile she picked out, but the installation was chit. You could visibly see the unevenness everywhere. They did not even put a sealer over the grout..... I told her that no sealer was a disaster waiting to happen. I went to Lowes and got sealer and did it myself.
Mastic does not get re-activated when moisture/water contacts it, that is an old wives' tale, but one many tile installers hold true, but at the same time you cannot use mastic in submerged applications. You should avoid use mastic on shower bases/mud-pans or on floors, (especially concrete floors) but it is perfectly fine on walls. EDIT: I wouldnt use it on LFT tiles though. Normal sized ceramic tile under 12" it is fine. Dont use Mastic on glass or natural stone either. Glass doesnt allow it to breathe, so it takes forever to dry and can bleed into your grout.
I love the longer live it is so satisfying!!! I was just going to say that!!😂 I am working on homework at night and apprentice tile setter by day! You guys are awesome I turned my boss onto you guys . We dig
@@WINNI.Designs I’m not having kids because I want to be able to bang more whores and get high when I please. Cheers from a young house flipper in Florida, I learn a lot from your videos
I like the longer streams. and also it gives you the content to break it up into smaller parts in the future. So much in one vid is amazing. Also time stamps. Great work in all ways guys!
This is the situation I am in, a glass shower next to bathtub. The bathtub has window above it and dry wall on two sides. Being the bigger bathtub, kids tend to use it and wet the walls around, I am looking to tile them to waterproof it.
Man with very nice cutters and saws can’t buy $50 suction cup to move large tiles into place 😂 Kidding, love that large format cutter. Bummer if you ever get a bad cut. Happens at 1:00:42. In ruby videos what you do is lightly tamp down with the breaker bar, then break at the other end. Your creating a little stress fracture at that end.
Hey zippy,I'd love to see how you set up your work van or truck. How you set up your tools and the placement you choose to be able to load each specific job..I've been trying to come up wt better organization for tools for easy access and keeping a cleaner work van.You seem to be witty wt organization so Maybe a small video on truck n tool placement in a work vehicle wt some ideas you have to better. I speant(wasted 4 hours )cleaning out my van and attempting to organize it better.🤷♂️ Johnny From Abbella tile north nj.👍25 year + tiler.
Hi, I noticed that you used mud and taped up the seems like with any other drywall job. On other videos I've watched some guys just thinset over the seems with no tape before tile . I'm repairing a hole in a shower wall, do you recommend that I mud and tape like any other drywall patch or since it's getting tiled can I thinsetting the whole thing can skip the mud and tape step
Love the videos man… But i always have some rags on top or the side of my dewalt machine. So when I cut the tile I dry it off after. So it won’t be dripping inside the house.
Great work, i like your work style simple smooth n stressless,! Yes slowly done also productive n don right!!! Good job buddy !! yea some guys finish whole room one day with plumbing but leave imperfections n room for error. I had some people in the past who would’ve definitely been mad about the Grout line that didn’t match up at 41 minutes and 20 seconds in your video I worked for and worked with tile people so anal. Smdh never praised some else yet quick to point out a discrepancy loud n proud smh. Takes 5 to 15 minutes to fix a mistake in the middle of the install rather than look at it for the next 5 to 50 years. In the end result wall is still looking great!👍
So i have purple board hung in a bathroom shower. (Taped and blocked) can i just use the ruber paint to make a water barrier and then tile over top? Or do i have to put up concrete board?
I'd never do it because you're going to have hundreds of pounds hanging off of paper coated gypsum. I have a hard time believing that it would last very long
Not saying it's proper, but I have demoed 15+ year old tile showers installed right over green board. No waterproofing. Just thinset and tile. It can last forever. I've seen it.
Been following this whole bathroom remodel i fw it, but u said u only focus on bathrooms but on ig u did a fire place it was firee. Never again/no time soon??
Love your channel! You helped me out A LOT on my first tile job. I got a question? If I’m going to be doing a fireplace new framing and walls for the tv to hang and electric fireplace (basically like a foot in depth and like 8x8ft high and length) and I want to tile over it can I use just drywall or does it have to be green drywall or cement board?? I’m really lost on that since is not a shower I was just thinking of the regular drywall but I really don’t know… and do I have to prime it, like you did??
If you don’t have room to move the tile side to side why wouldn’t you make your grout strokes on the horizontal and then you could move the tile up and down that inch?
Working with your kids how cute. yah when they get to working age they will not want anything to to with that, bro's before dad come on dude. It was that way with my dad and with my son. He's 28 now and live in Washington state I live in Idaho. he calls to get tips on how to do carpentry. and shows me what he is working.
Is drywall strong enough to hold the tiles? My builder uses cement boards to back up the tiles, even outside of the shower area. He said cement boards are stronger and more water resistant than regular drywalls. I wonder if regular drywalls can hold the same amount of weight
Its not regular drywall hes using. Its Green Board. Green Board has a bunch of fiberglass added to the gypsum to make it stronger. As long as you are not using Green Board in a tub or shower area it is fine.
I’m no expert but I think your using the wrong scoring wheel for porcelain tile. Your supposed to use the smaller one. The larger one is for glass tile. Read the instructions that came with the cutter.
I don't think your idea to score the wall is that great. You're damaging the only thing about drywall able to hold the tile. Without paper, drywall is barely harder than chalk.... Drywall is an engineered system. Even when installing, you don't want your screws to pierce through the paper because it lowers the strength. Just saying....Cool video though.
If you watched his thoroughness of ANY of his videos and compare it to ANY and MOST OTHER TILE HACKS out there you would NOT be pissed off.. . But since the country is nothing but Beta Bitches and Leftist beta soy boy cowards then Your peoples comments are expected..
