I have the Nokia and just hooked up a Waveform 4X4. Much better speeds. I've looked and am having a hard time finding the best order for the cables to connect to in the gateway. Appreciate your channel.

Here. This document from WaveForm takes the guess work out of it. www.waveform.com/a/b/guides/hotspots/t-mobile-5g-gateway-nokia The Antennas were labeled L1-L4 and if you look 80% down in the document, it will show you the leads on the radio and the leads on the antenna with their recommended configuration.

@PeterC408 Thank you for that. Any relation to "The Green Grocer"? It's been a few years but when I see your name I think of him.

One of the problems I was having was that the new G4SE T-mobile modem does not support ip passthrough or standard bridge mode to set up a ddns on an internet router behind the modem like you showed in your other video. The AT&T provided modem supports these features but the AT&T network performance is much worse.

Yes, you are right. Although the TMHI service is amazing, these first generation gateways leave a lot to be desired. Basic features like band locking, DLNA, port forwarding and VPN are missing. This one of the failures. IMHO TMHI is the best 5G solution out. Verizon chose bands that perform great but are lacking in coverage. They also limited their Home Internet customers to 100Mbps (which may be smart in the long run). The problem with AT&T is that they totally missed the boat and catching up will be difficult because the frequencies used are offered by FCC auction and they missed out. T-Mobile had a plan, executed it well by grabbing Mid-band and Low-band frequencies realizing they could get the speed back through aggregation. As 5G grows I think their choices are going to pay off big time for this smallest of the 3 companies.

These are great solutions, but the prices are so high that it is chapter to get cable. However, I understand that not everyone has access to cable, or if T-Mobile gives you a free 5G router It might be a cheaper and faster alternative. I recently got a second-hand Three 4G Plus router, that I think has been unlocked by the eBay seller. Unfortunately, I'm only getting band 20 (800MHz) 4G, but is not too bad. As Vodafone has quite a large chunk of 800MHz spectrum so get about 40Meg down. However, I'm told the rougher is capable of 600 Meg if you are in a decent area. What I do like is the 5GHz WiFi which joins 4 bands together, and seems to support a lot of bands as some routers just do band 80 along with all your nabours and get slow WiFi.

Is it possible to use a VPN with TM gateway? I just noticed you answered my question, on the video before this one. Thanks again.

The ZTE MC7010CA is 100 bucks and is an outdoor one like the Yeacomm but it only works with tmobile phone or data Sims. No ttl setting but it will probably also works with the business line cuz it has apn settings. Sorry if this posted more than once youtube didn't like my edits

@@quarantainment293 it only works with data or phone sims with unlimited data it’s a Canadian modem that works in the US with T-Mobile, you can’t use a tmhi sim unless it’s business

Do you have the info to make the InvisGig see the TMO SIM? I'm thinking of buying one because I keep having inactivity with my refurbed Nokia gateway which requires a reboot a couple of times a day.
@PeterC408
@PeterC408 8 месяцев назад
Yes. To enable any of these devices to work with the TMHI SIM, you need to set the IMEI value and the APN. I also set the gateway to be 192.168.12.1 (just like the original unit). Then you put the original unit in a drawer, they can't both be on the same network. This works with consumer and business SIMs and has been well tested. That said, there may be other, less expensive option, for you. How many WiFi devices are you trying to support? Does your unit get HOT!? If so, it could be having thermal issues. One of the things I tried early on was using the Nokia unit as a modem only. I used my own WiFi router and it allowed the unit to run much cooler. You don't really need to turn it off, just change the SSID name and stop using it. The load of supporting many WiFi devices make this unit get hot and glitch (fail).

Thanks for responding! I only have about 25 or so wifi devices and I am using the Nokia gateway as a modem only. I have the wifi turned off and I have it plugged into a Synology RT6600 AX6600 router. It runs warm but not hot. I just lose connectivity 2-3 times a day and sometimes it is just for a few minutes. Othertimes I turn the gateway off and on and everything is fine. When it's "out", it's still showing a signal, but no devices are able to contact the internet on either 2.4ghz or 5ghz. When it's running normally, I get a great speeds typically 200+ down/15 up. I just wish it was more st able. I have had this service for several years and this problem just started happening in the last 4-5 months. It's driving me nuts trying to figure it out. I've replaced the gateway (with a refurb), replaced the SIM, and got the newer Synology (I was using the previous Synology router. Not sure what to try next other than another gateway. Any ideas?@@PeterC408

Well, this does sound like an issue that I was having back in 2021. The unit would simply cut out for a bit and then usually fix it self. I found a fix that turned out to help out and I used it successfully for several months but then it seemed to have fixed itself... I assumed that T-Mobile had seen my video (or found the same issue organically). Needless to say, changing the MTU packet size did make it much more stable. I am interested to know your experience. Keep in mind, we want to change the WAN packet size and not the LAN packet size, (some people used a different router and it had that option). Here is that video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SRW4E-z-x54.html

Looks like I left a message on that video last year ;o) I was using an older Synology then and couldn't find where to set the MTU size and I can't find it on this newer one either... UGH. Googling isn't helping. Now I wish I wouldn't have gone with another Synology...@@PeterC408
