Ken it’s ok to struggle as long as you use your sources and just don’t USE! 14 years off meth I still struggle. I suffer from autoimmune diseases and now because of an epidural in my neck I have nerve damage down my arms into my hands on top of my arthritis pain and I struggle especially when my diseases are flared up. I stay in pain 24/7 go to pain management and take narcotic pain meds which I’m very careful! So I understand how your feeling! My whole life has changed I get depressed my anxiety is bad but I make a gratitude list! My mom is my best friend she has dementia and I take care of her I miss her so much! I can’t do much right now I do what I can! That’s all we can do! Im so proud of you ! You hang in there keep your head up! I am with you on the sleep I don’t sleep much at all! Praying for you!!! Keep up the good work!!!
First, let me say I am so sorry you are in pain, I hope you can get some answers and relief soon. I am sending you a virtual hug! Proud of you for hanging on to your sobriety with all you have, you are stronger than you know!!!
The needling and pain, yes! I am 40+ yrs free of heroin. I know exactly what you are talking about. Right now I am battling breast cancer and chemotherapy has caused neuropathy in my fingers and toes! The pain is awful, when I started to shake my hands for relief my life long girl friend said “you used to do that when you got clean” and WOW that flashback was powerful. So Ken, relax and ride it out. You have got this! One day, one minute, sometimes just a few seconds at a time. So much love and support flowing to you right now!
Glad you are staying on track. I would get a treadmill and walk a mile or two daily. It doesn't have to be a speed walk, but movement is so beneficial - sleep, joints, muscles, etc. It would help you sleep also. Good luck!
Ken, when you described your pain it sounded exactly like carpal tunnel, I had the same thing... pain like needles poking, and numbness, I too always shook my hands for relief. There is a surgery for it however, my doctor put me on the 5,4,3,2,1 steroids pack, and that really really helped me avoid that. -Totally understand your frustration and pain!
I have the large heat press from htvront and used it to iron my sheets... (that wasnt why i got it though lol) it worked really well. Faithful Designs by Christy did a vid of a special press charity event she did in partnership with them where she showed how she made the tumblers and answered questions and then gave the tumblers to the crowd. I'm going to look more into it since it seems much easier than resin tumblers and seems like it won't scratch as easily as resin can if you use a scrubber to wash. If you do get one, I hope you can do a review! I'm sorry you've been in such pain. I get tingling fingers at times and it's annoying AF. Thankfully I've not experienced it as bad as what you have. For me it's mostly stress so slowing down and disonnecting helps. Hope it's nothing serious for you. I'm proud that you are facing it head-on instead of trying to run from it through 'drugs' etc. What you said sounds like stoicism. You might enjoy reading or listening to Marcus Aurelius. I think I might have mentioned him before.
First friend all I want to do is hug you. It is hard when your in pain. I am so proud that you are acknowledging this and doing the work. Second that Halloween stuff is amazing. I am going to get a couple of pieces in the next week. And third I love you and will always be there to talk if you need me. ❤ PS I don’t like the portrait view either. I could not see any of the lives comments😢😢
I have chronic low back pain. Facet joint syndrome. I. Have gone for injections and I’m going for my second nerve ablation and I get physio twice a month . I’m so tired of being in pain or sore all the time. I can only work a few days a week as a supply teacher. I wish there was a curative surgery but there isn’t. Doesn’t exist . No one’s that cure anyway.
