hmmm... I recall a double header last year where Ohtani pitched a complete shutout game, then hit two homers in the second game as DH... so as for best performance by an MLB player in the modern era, we can argue the skill level it takes to do that.
@trevor8307
@trevor8307 6 дней назад
Agreed. Like many things with Ohtani, that game also flew under the radar. Glad he’s finally getting his due credit this year. It’s funny that it took nice round numbers (50/50) to get the well deserved attention. I’ve been checking his box score every game since 2021, it’s the most fun I’ve had following the regular season since 1998.
@jaykoh1514

@@trevor8307 in 2022 he had a game with 13k's, 8 innings scoreless... while going 3 or 3 at bat... 8 RBI's on 2 homers... I think this line is even more impressive than 6 for 6 hitting in my opinion... Yeah, he's been ridiculous for a long time.

Ohtani has batted .280 w/ 224 home runs and 141 stolen bases in 7 years. Bonds batted .298 w/ 762 home runs and 514 stolen bases in 22 years. If Ohtani can improve his batting average and do this for 15 more years, then he'll be on par with Bonds in terms of batting average, home runs, and stolen bases.
