12: You can skip monster dying animaticon at the end by pressing Esc 13: opening wildlife book map and closing it is faster than sheathing HBG if you are not in combat 14: hanging on the wedge beetles prevent roars 15: downgrading weapons gives you back resources. I didnt know that until recently, and you can downgrade lunastra's weapons to get research tickets back 16: bringing Poogie to Handler gives you free meal voucher every other quest Here ya go, another 5 facts for next video. Dont need to thank me, just finish the ingredients in the canteen, dammit.
I think you don't get research tickets back nor will you get the gem back. When looking at the list of refunded materials they have a 0 beside those two.
@@ZeDawgear If I had to choose I'd either be Gore (not Chaotic cause that's heresy) or ya boi Odogaron (he also let's off Steam from his mouth so that's a big plus)
They knew we wouldn't want to watch the book animation, but yet they make us scroll through 4 lines of text every single time we want to talk to any vendor in Astera. I just want to check my damn garden not get their life story. lol
This is more of a glitch than a secret but here it is.. 12. There is a spot in the gathering hub near the dining table, its exactly between the table and the floor boards that look like a cargo hatch from a pirate ship, if you perform some emotes there your character will stand at 45 degree angle doing the emote. It looks very trippy and boggles a lot of ppl on the hub, especially when there is a KT lobby going on. 13. I f you do a Deviljho Investigation quest on Coral Highlands, there is a spot on the left side of the map with arches and winding stone bridges, if you are fighting Jho on one of the stone bridges and a Bazelguese comes to do turf war, ask a teammate to shoot sleep ammo on Bazel, Jho will stand there for all eternity eating your free attacks.
One tip i haven't seen on videos like these is this. Did you know what when you use your whetstone in a bush, it counts as stealth? Very useful in a heated fight, just make sure the monster doesn't see you
"Have you ever seen a great blue marlin before?" [Laughs in wild, wild, wildlife] Theres a secret guildcard background for catching all endemic life (excluding cactuars and Kulve Taroth cave) and catching great version of all fish except living fossil. The marlin isnt too hard to find. Go to the beach during the day. Look for a fin sticking out of the water. Thats a marlin. See 2? One of them is great. Great fish dont replace normal ones. So if you see 2 tuna, one is 100% great.
I got mine earlier this year i believe It swims happily with my jumbo platinum fish and the other rare fish with blue glowing spots. I forgot the name of it😅
Another tip: *Potion healing speed can be increased by changing your walk animation mid-drink.* Walk->Start Drinking->Run Run->Start Drinking->Walk It has helped me greatly throughout my playthrough, I hope that helps you too.
It might have been a glitch but before Iceborne, me and another player mounted a monster at the same time. The animation was different and the damage done was significantly higher. I don’t know if it takes precise simultaneous timing from each Hunter. So far I haven’t been able to double mount a monster since. So probably a glitch lol.
That Great Marlin was the very first fish I caught in the game.... LOL. I have one on each character now. Spend the night in the Ancient Forest on expedition and go fishing the next day. Within a couple of tries, I got it on two other characters.
@@misfit4277 I accidentally found one and didn't realize it was super rare. I was just hunting and thought, "Hey, why don't I take a quick break to fish in this body of water I fought the monster near? I have plenty of time."
I have 5 great king Marlins and 4 of the regular king Marlins, just keep an eye out whenever in that zone for ancient forest. They are great aquarium trophies!
Two minor corrections/addendums: The book animation thing isn't done with left bumper, it's whatever your "Run" button is, which is actually R1. The Insect Glaives can cling to walls that you'd normally be able to climb (like with vines) by pole vaulting into them (not the air dash). You can then jump up the wall with your glaive, which is faster than using your grappling hook if you have white essence buff.
@@DukeApples probably if I knew what that was. I just sit there with my gil mantle on and wait, then I pick up the tracks, hoping one nets a temp nerg.
If you jump from a high place and hit the attack button, you cancel the landing animation and opening the book cancels the animation of sheathing the weapom. If you use the 'Igni Sign Gesture' on the tar puddles in Rathian's nest in Wildspire Waste you light them. You can use 'Capture Net' to catch insects like Bitterbug, Flashbug, Godbug etc ...
Something I learned in my 2k+ hours the other day was that if Kushala Daora takes flight to form a tornado, if you flash it in the middle of it's starting ascent, before it does that pose in the middle of the tornado, it'll come crashing back down and no tornado forms. This happened when I flashed it in multiplayer so maybe latency could have a hand in it. I may try it solo once I get to fighting it
Insect Glaive can stick only to climbable walls [not just any walls] as the pogo-stick, as I like to call it, pierces and gets stuck in the plants. Petting the Poogie before each quest boosts yours luck.
Your character can get drunk if you use 7 or more drink gesture (RT/R2) in canteen table and then get up.. Just know it last week after 300 hours+ of gameplay
Thundermantle makes you immune to paratoads and another cool thing you can use items mid air after your mounting finisher especially good for putting on mantles or mighpills ect.
I learned that one today actually when doing it myself, was just trying to get my mantle on asap and i did it mid air so I was confused, didn't know that was a feature
It's really impressive how much small little things that Capcom cram into this game that you could possibly never know about, even through hundreds of hours of playing. Gets me wondering how much more they will cram into Iceborne.
Funny enough, Great Blue Marlin was the FIRST fish I caught. Certainly helped with the Wild, Wild, Wildlife achievement hundreds of hours later when I decided to commit myself to a wonderful three day trip catching everything else.
Here's one: you can pick up pods while mounted. Yes the monster has to walk over to it but still. There is also the swordfish great sword. That look like the Martin
I learned that wall cling like a week ago and I was like “WTF IM STUCK” then I realized that I could just drop down....smh. I knew from the older games that if you saw a fish, you could catch it.
Watching your stream and vids really helps my hunt. Especially when I'm fighting my first Teostra, Lunastra, and Teostra-Lunastra for the first time. I just suddenly remember what you're saying about Ele defense above 20 negates blight and more. Thanks GE.
"Great blue Martin" XD So I went to get the marlin you showed. Ended up finding it first attempt, plus a giant tuna and a giant red praxus fish. Was a good haul!
I still find new small caves in the Ancient Forest to this day.^^ And on topic of the King Marlin, I caught him just a few days ago and the next time I fought the Greatest Jagras over at the beach both the normal Marlin and the King Marlin were swimming around.
I think I got one thing most players don’t know about it. You can actually down a flying monster if you shoot it with brightmoss in the face (sometimes you need to shoot it twice or three times to down it), and it still works when the monster is already immune to flashes
also noticed in Area 3 elders recess. Crystal patches (where Kushala rests or Bazel goes to sleep) on the ground can be used to do damage to monster with attacks that hit the ground (ie hammers, not sure about any other weapons). I noticed the extra ticks of damage while fighting Kushala. Also canceling out of monster death/capture camera pan by hitting start is also a life saver.
Good thing to keep in mind is that when you abandon your quest you'll get your items back but in addition you also lose any item that you may have gotten within the quest from for example gathers or carvings.
that cat moxie thing is neat! I've got a pal stuck on Nargacuga Iceborn because he keeps dying to his tail slam when above him. (he mains insect glaive) using moxie should help out as he refuses to use: 1.) fortitude, 2.) demon and armor drugs, 3.) max potions, 4.) and gives up when he dies and can't eat at the canteen no more. (I know, I know. It is a pain for me to deal with too!)
I dunno if anyone else mentioned it but not only can you cling to walls with insect glaive, you can CLIMB them with the glaive! (Just hold forward and press triangle, or whatever button you use to do the rising slash combo)
Watched almost every monster hunter vids/tips/content/related vid (been with the series since MHP3rd) so it's all already mentioned in those, but thanks for compiling and creating more MHW vids xDD
@@Davidvlcs i just started not long ago, and im farming HR electric flying squirrel, popped sos becon cause usualy high rank player come and make it easier, well one guy joins, out of no where a devil comes out and he leaves... that thing was faster than me, basicaly one shots me, and stayed close to the squirrel the entire time
To add to #10, pierce pods work wonders on longer monsters! Instead of shooting it’s head try hopping on the back then shoot it and it should pierce, just before the knockdown blow you have enough time to hop back on the head or tail depending on what you’re tryna do
I found the Marlin within one of the first few mission I played (after getting the fishing rod). Saw a fin sticking out of the water when killing Kestrodons or digging bones and thought, "never seen that before". I honestly didn't even know I could fish from that spot until I saw the Marlin's fin.
I knew all of these. Well, except the fish, but i probably only spent thirty minutes fishing in the whole game so, nothing weird about that. I would have loved to learn an interesting tidbit of info about the game, but i also played it to death, so it's no wonder really. Here are more "'facts" that are rarely known : 1:On fact number seven you show that insect glaive can hold on to walls. You can also climb the wall this way, and it's faster that regular climbing. 2:Most monster status mechanics are regulated with either a timer or a secret meter, that you fill doing your stuff, and that goes down as time goes by. Meaning if you want to proc something, such as a stun, or a mount, you have to do that thing a lot in a short amount of time for best result. 3:You can dodge nergigante's divebomb attack with a simple roll if timed correctly. 4:Monsters have certain animations that they can not be flinched out of, meaning that no matter what happens to them during these animations, they won't react or die. Which is why flash bombs often fail, why you can break a part of a monster that is downed and not reproc the down timer, and you can often time kill a monster with a stone or otherwise puny damage. 5:You can dodge some roars with regular dodges. Roars are hitboxes, and dodges gives you invulnerability frames. If you can match your i-frames with their hitboxes, you dodge the roar. Evade window can give you more, up to almost half a second of i-frames, from about a quarter of a second. 5bis: At evade window + 0 you can dodge the roars of : Nergigante, Kushala doara, Teostra, Lunastra, Kulve Taroth, Leshen, Rathian, Rathalos, B52, and most smaller monsters. Deviljho, Val Hazak and Xenojiva are all harder to dodge, and likely require higher level of evade window buffs to dodge. 6: On the subjet of dodges, some dodges have innately more i-frames, such as SNS backhops and DB's arch demon mode dodges. There's a ton of things to learn about how DPS works, which is rarely known, specific channels such a jinjinx and tuna do a better job at explaining than what i could do here.
The only ones i didnt know was number 3 and number 10. I didnt know you could make the quest book opening animation go by faster and that you could use your slinger pods to end mounts quicker.
I've known about 9# for most of my time playing, because it is obvious, I mean the boulder has vine walls that looks like the vines you can climb on everywhere else in the area.
The most obscure thing I know about MHW is that you can actually knock down limping monsters out of their climb animation by swinging into them while on a vine. I've only done it once and don't even know if it does damage cause I was so suprised, but that has to be the most obscure attack in the game. If they aren't limping, you get knocked out of the swing animation instead.
Dodgama's jaw has 3 different Hitzone Values depending on its state. Normally I think its 50 or so, but when it eats rocks and begins to glow, it jumps up to 75, and if it eats rocks again while glowing, it'll jump up to 100 HV. This is the only part on any monster that has a HV of 100, meaning your attacks will deal full damage to it. It's why Team Darkside used Dodogama when they did their "highest damage number ever" video.
@@luxrion5179 same but say I'm joining someone else's quest and I forgot something, I'm not gonna go all the way to the board when she's right there lol
Jokes on you @Thegameconomist ive seen all those livestreams and saw you catch that marlin. Btw you missed a tip, when you cart, you are able to enjoy the handlers smile
I had no idea that marlins were even in the game. I don't even think there are delivery quest about them. And here I am struggling to find that great platinum fish.
