Annealing will change the grain. Then heat the material. It will prevent tears and make it way easier to bend. There are a couple vids on the process. My two cents from the peanut gallery.
I got roasted today for suggesting TJ paint his car. Too funny. Now I am even more determined. Peer pressure. Lol. Always enjoy your stuff you know that right.
I actually texted him about an hour ago and told him I’d he was gonna spray paint it that I’d be willing to spray paint it lol. Figured get the best spray paint job we could out of it right lol
Try useing c clamps alone the bar to hold it from bowing. I used one of them benders to make 2 bomber seats & windshield visor on my 47 ford truck ratrod. I was using 22ga steel though. Looks like i will be using alu next when i try & make my wing. Or take it to machine shop & pay a couple bucks & have them bend it on there bender. Lol Jim
Keep getting it it will look good after you finish. Man to bad I leave 7 hours away I would come hang out with you and make the wife mad 😂😂. Love the videos keep up the good good 👍👍👍
Damn is that 6065T6? A little hard for bending. Oh and the scribe fractured the aluminum. Instead of those metal brakets you can buy !"x1" Angle Aluminum stock and cut it into short pieces and use them?
Using a softer grade of aluminum would be easier to work with and harder grades tend to crack when bent and are prone to cracking as well later from vibration
