That was a fun video and a great look at the vehicle I'd never heard of before. Unlike a Unimog, the designers of that vehicle really kept the lines clean

Amazing twisting action!
@captainwin6333
@captainwin6333 2 года назад
The frame doesn't twist, just the axles so the living space can be bolted direct to the truck and doesn't require seperate mounts. One other benefit of that pivot system is on road, going round corners it resists body roll of the truck so it corners better than just about every 4x4 truck. The suspension system is called De Dion and the differential is fixed to the truck body and doesn't move so there's less unsprung weight which improves handling. 6.7 litre Cummins 6 cylinder engine with an Allison gearbox.

@@captainwin6333 In this case it's a VM EP 638 LI, 3.8l Engine.

Great truck. Wouldn't you mind letting us know the brand and model of the 1) diesel pump auxiliary tank to main (We fitted a Facet 12VDC for this purpose, not quite happy with the performance), 2) the solar panels on the roof. 3) the engine Good luck Heinz
@dubuandmore7907
@dubuandmore7907 2 года назад
Hi Heinz, pleasure to give you some answers about our truck. 😃1) we use a common diesel pump with 24 VDC because the electric of a Duro is 24 Volts. You're right, there performance is weak but we do pump during we drive so it is quiet an easy way for us. 2) we use 3 solar panels from LESOL - céline Solarmodul 130W ETFE. We are pretty happy with them. 3) the Engine is an Italian Brand called VM Motori. they build Diesel engines for the marine. So it is very durable. Please feel free to ask us if you have more questions.

@@dubuandmore7907 Hello and thanks for the quick response. Some years ago, I drove a Chrysler Voyager (1998), fitted with a VM 2.5l, , Diesel, too, with 4 single heads instead of one bench. At about 100TKM on the clock, the head-gasket and heads itself were shot. Apart from this experience, I appreciated the torque and low diesel consumption. As far as I remember, this type of engine was fitted to Range Rovers and Jeep Wranglers ( at that time). Both prone to head-(gasket) problems as far as I remember. On the other hand, VM has a good reputation for Diesel engines in terms of reliability and durability. From my personal point of view, I would prefer the Bucher Cummins combination, but this engine seems to be fitted only in 6x6 version. Good luck. Heinz

It's ridiculous that Americans use all this imperial measurement. As for me it is something that should go to the past) thanks for showing positive people. And you are welcome in Europe. Herzlichen Willkommen)

Hi, do you have a video on your Nature's Head? I heard the wife say in a video your empty it once in a long while. I live off grid and have one but it has to be cleaned every couple of weeks (1 person use). I want to learn what you do to make it go for so long.. and did you install it with vents, fans etc.etc. too ?
@Everlanders
@Everlanders 2 года назад
We have not made a dedicated video on the Nature's Head. It does last us (2 people) 3-4 months before it needs to be cycled. I do have both the fan inlet and outlet plumbed outside and have installed a larger fan for increased airflow. Managing the moisture inside the rear compartment is key.
