💡question of the day💡 How many of you service your tractor yourself? Or do you have someone else do it? Comment below ⬇️

Phillip Bridges I try too but if it’s a big problem I send it in.

I’ll service the items that I feel comfortable enough in my skills to do; oil changes, fluid and filter changes, and things that most any shade tree mechanic can perform. For the more in-depth service, I’ll take her to the authorized service shop.

I know it is kind of randomly asking but does anybody know of a good site to watch newly released series online?

A suggestion. I'd recommend adding oil to the filter prior to install. This will saturate the pleats and you'll have oil cycle through the filter quicker on initial start-up.

Awesome how to video. I have the same tractor and I'm way more confident after watching this video handling an oil change myself. Thanks for this!

I have a Kubota L2501. It is interesting at the differences between the 2 tractors. The differences are in the engines. Kubota simply puts in different engines into the very same chassis. You get to gain subtle differences other than more power to the p.t.o. My dealer wouldn't sell me a L3301 because the p.t.o. power didn't matter at that time and I am pulling a 5 ft brush hog. He said that the L3301 wouldn't power a 6 ft brush hog adequately and that I would have to step up to a L3901 for that. Since I already have larger and more powerful tractors, that wasn't necessary. Good job on showing the oil change. Cheapest maintenance you can do.

Thanks. One of my only complaint about the L3901 is I wish it could lift more with the bucket. The hydraulics just seem week. I love the PTO on it. The 6 ft brush hog does work really nice with it. 👍🏻

Great video Phillip!!! My opinion, if you can operate a tractor, you ought to be able to change the oil. Makes you appreciate it more, and your video makes it very easy!! Thanks dude, keep up the good work😎

I also have the L3901. Great tractor for my needs. I like to take care of it mechanically and keep it clean. Believe it or not I just finished waxing it this weekend. I see your L3901 is really clean. I notice that you don't have extra grease on the grease points. I've often wondered it if is a good idea to keep those grease point wiped down or to let the extra grease stay there to keep the dirt away. What do you think? How do you keep your L3901 clean?
@PhillipBridgesReviews
@PhillipBridgesReviews 4 года назад
Joe Horvath I usually don’t wipe off the grease. I do tend to spray down the tractor when it’s muddy with my hot pressure washer. Its great for getting the dirt and grease buildup off. Thanks for watching! 😀

I wonder why there are 2 drain plugs?

On my L3430 and L3940 the oil pan has 2 sumps in it with a raised area in between to allow the front driveshaft clearance.

One issue you did was not fill the oil filter with oil before installing this could cause the filter to implode other than that good job
@PhillipBridgesReviews

I agree. That was a mistake on my part.

Bob Smithereens huh? The filter will hold about half its capacity when vertical. Also helps to wet the filter media that way to reduce the duration of no oil pressure upon start up.
@leeroy_jenkinz5286
@leeroy_jenkinz5286 3 года назад
@Bob Smithereens ever heard of a back drain valve? Most filters have them nowadays. Fill your next filter which oil to the top 2 times watch how much oil is held internally flip your filter upside down and see if that much oil comes back out you won’t even get an 1/8 reason being when it’s wicked into the filter it’s held between the filter and outside housing. When you look in the top all those holes around the center thread contains a seal that doesn’t allow oil to escape working like a 1 way valve in return it prevents dry starts. Fact check me you might learn a thing or two. People pay colleges for advice that I give out for free.

@@leeroy_jenkinz5286 @ Bob Smithereens. My experience is that if it is a vertical oil filter (opening at top) and you pre fill the filter with oil you see the oil presure come up immediately. if you don't pre fill the filter with oil you see a slight delay on oil presure gauge until the filter is filled about a second or so? I never tried to do it on a horizontal filter because I thought it would just make a mess but as Leeroy said you could actualy partially fill even a Horizontal filter. The idea that if you don't prefill and oil filter there will be enough vacuum to crush and oil filter has to be a myth. even the worst Fram filter would not fail like that ( I think everyone hates Fram filter just watch youtube lol). I think is is ok if you don't pre fill an oil filter after an oil change, I do when it when I can but how much you are hurting the engine for that extra second of low oil pressure can't be too much I would think? If it was really and issue I think you would want to always crank your engine a bit before ignition especial in cold weather to get some oil flow. or manufactures or car people would put an ignition delay while you crank the engine to get a little more oil flow? just my 2 cents.

I've never serviced a kabota, but when I was an operator I also had to do the service on the equipment Iran which was a Case 580 super l as well as the John Deere dozer that my boss was operating. Between the two of those if I wasn't operating the Case I was either working on it or working on the Deer. Between the two of those I was constantly either working on hydraulics or adjusting dozer tracks or something else but there was always something. oh I almost completely forgot about the tractor there is also a John Deere 4105 involved not to mention several Husqvarna chainsaws that also had to be serviced quite often. Lol and if it wasn't one of these things than it was the Dodge that was pulling them. Smh
