What if I told you that the Justice System is working exactly how it is supposed to work? Would you believe me? No? How about this? How can it be that 10s of thousands of innocent people are released after being convicted with very little evidence but Trump and other well to do people are often not convicted or given minor sentences?

Had a similar situation where a guy had definitely done the crime and one juror would not vote guilty, she eventually admitted that the accused reminded her of her dead son and she couldn’t find him guilty. Can’t make it up…

I pulled a "12 angry men". The (falsely) accused should have been the prime suspect. It took us three holdouts four days, but we swung the jury. Us three cared a lot, one MAGA type just wanted to execute the brown man, 3 mostly slept through deliberations. Defense was very smart, he refused to accept hung jury because he knew if we were taking four days this was his best shot and he worst case was hung jury, best case happened when the holdouts won.

There is the possibility that one juror is a plant and says not guilty. If a hung jury happens, you KNOW trump will say that 'proves I'm innocent, it's all a witch hunt', blah, blah'. Providing he does not win an election which the Supreme Court should have BARRED him from participating in (14th amendment), trump can be re-tried, potentially multiple times. Trump would then spend the rest of his life dealing with litigation and/or convictions. Attorneys must love this because providing their legal services are performed on a continued 'pay as you go' basis, this surely is the world's best funded attorney retirement program.

It's difficult to ascertain as to how the jury will rule. Per the law, Trump is guilty, but there is at least one potentially questionable juror in play. Should this juror not turn out to be a Trumper just voting against conviction because "Trump 2024," even if convicted, he very likely will only face a large fine. He SHOULD see jail time like Cohen, and I hope he does, but the reality is, he will be a convicted felon with no actual prison time, and he'll continue to claim it was all rigged and badmouth everyone involved. As a result of no prison time, Republicans, including those who identify as moderate, will disregard the felon status and Trump will lose little to no support.

It would be hard to recover from. If he gets a single juror to go his way, it probably won't be retried this year. Trump will declare he has been "exonerated". His minions will cry political, prosecution. Of course they will anyway, but more will listen.
