Why does all this scare me? I am a gamer, so I don't just play the Sims. I have noticed these big game companies are valuing their players less and less, in the name of greed 😒😔
But i also think it is also a consumer problem as well. As a gamer as well, i just keep seeing people constantly complaining about all types of games but continue to purchase them. It’s a win win for the company but a loss for the consumer. They put out a crappy game, they still recoup the funds. People purchasing games before they even drop, people purchasing incomplete EARLY ACCESS games. More and more companies hype up to the max and drop an unfinished game, the consumer pre ordered it or bought day one due to hype and now have no way to recoup the full amount they spent.
They abandoned soooo much features in this game it’s crazy. I give them 2 months 😂😂😂. Also there’s a way to get all of the items in build and buy by picking all the colors when you use the tags in the search bar😂😂😂
I'm someone who uninstalled a couple months ago and has almost entirely stopped consuming sims content. I decide to check in and see how things are going and...... I don't even have words what is going on 😭
they are so incredibly desperate to get players to come back. Other people have said the patches they released didn't even work and the boycott is still going strong. They're probably loosing money and this to me seems like they're trying to get people back as cheaply as possible. It feels fake, it feels two-faced, it feels weak, and it shows they still don't really care about us. I'll keep playing cause I already spent money on it, but I'm not buying anything. I'm waiting for paralives
I've been playing the sims almost every day since I was 5 back in 2002, now I haven't touched it in months, it's like if I was an alcoholic who got clean because drinks companies gradually sterted to make their products more and more diluted to the point one day you realise it just became some murky plain water you just had no interest in drinking anymore. I'm guessing they are desperate if they are resorting to this... 👀it's kind of sad. I remember the exitement of when Unleashed and Making Magic had came out, same with sims 2 and 3 eps, they just appeared in the store one day with no trailer or promo and they had us playing non stop for months.
Firstly, honestly applaud you for posting so quickly while being pregnant. Girl, I was pretty useless during my pregnancy so kudos to you! In regards to people unsubscribing or not liking your content tbh I unsubed for a while bc it seemed so negative all the time (understandably). But I feel you’ve been really good at being a bit more neutral while still expressing your disappointment in the game lately. :) As for the login rewards… free is good…. Prepping us for “battle pass” style gameplay… BAD. And I agree that really seems like what they are doing.
The shift from SDX drops to timed events is telling, free or not. In the past we would have just gotten an SDX drop. If its free just give it for FREE and if not, pad a pack with a few extra items. But this whole timed event login b.s. is intentional manipulation of my time. I am actually logged out of the internet on my Sims computer and waiting to hear feedback on this latest patch and for my favorite modders to give the all-clear on their mods. honestly, do not mind that these are alterations of existing objects since they are free. That way if someone is missing the object it doesn’t critically change gameplay. A trait should not be a timed event ‘item’ tho.
Aaaaaaand there goes my quarterly redownload. Done done done with this sh*t. I don’t need some dumb monthly track sh*t to get me back, I need good updates and content that works!! I’ve been buying sims 4 content since I started making money at this point (this games 10y at this point, I was literally 13 when this shit started) and this sh*t is just disrespectful
Console player here: I played after the update and the lag was insane! I sometimes have lag issues, but it was so much worse afterwards. As per usual, HQ just recommends deleting user cache and restarting... thanks ea
Console User here: I went in last night to check if the updates made any difference. I logged into my Mermaid's household because she is off the grid and has a lot of plants, Plants that have weeds and bugs out of season.. Some of the plants did seem to be weed free that had weeds the last time i played them, but there were still trees with weeds AND bugs out of season. I didn't bother to check any other bugs. I did notice this morning that my sim didn't pick up dirty dishes off the corner counter, so I guess I either didn't get the patch (Xbox is set to auto update) or the patch didn't work.
To me its extremely shady and Skummy, Because its Clear from "Its Not that bad its only twice or Thrice a week at most", thats what EA and Other Corporate money Grubbers want. They dragged this out because they fully realized they reached a player base that literally has NO MEMORY or Hold over of the Previous Generations of Gaming, especially with Everything from The 3Ds, PS3, Xbox, and Early PC era being mostly lost media now. So they are used to the Free to Pay Model. And by Undercutting Fornite, Rainbow Six, or even Fall Guys on log ins, they will find it easy to say....its not like its Every day...but it IS every week, then Its Not that much just a Few cents, Then Its Year Pass for like 20+ dollars for all the Items you missed that's the Equivalent of 1 Stuff Pack on a GOOD DAY. They Know people who are now just getting into Gaming (started about 2020 pandemic or those very young and already playing Roblox, Fortnite etc .) Will Shell it because its NORMALIZED! THIS ISN'T NORMAL Heck even the Sims 3 Store wasn't THIS bad and the Items Were always there after appearance, no time limit. Not to mention: They know the older players are less forgiving, because they Know that we know they've done better....and could BE better. Modders PROVED IT SEVERAL TIMES OVER with teams of 1 with less glitches on Launch then the Base Game! We need to come together to shut EA Down and Demand Better or make a new Sims at this point with a community This big, and Hollow them out right under them. SOMETHING to wake them up!
I find this update...interesting, but this is not enough to get me back into the game as a player. Objectively speaking, I'm pretty sure a lot of these items are recolors or reused meshes with minor adjustment. I agree that these should just be free updates for all players.
The thing is, for most ppl this should be ok to implement but not everyone. I'm someone that used to play religiously genshin impact, a mobile/pc/console gacha game that had many sorts of incentives to get ppl playing every day, and i absolutely dislike the sims implementing any of them bc of my experience with games like genshin or free fire that i know is not most of the player base, but laso im not alone: they're playing with the feeling of missing out on things that ppl won't get access to in the future, and for stable ppl that mght be fine, but i'm feeling bad and need something chill? the sims is my go to bc it has no pressure, no time limit, no anything like that that overwhelms me and that, in my depressive episodes, the sims is not a game that will further the negative thought i have to deal with in those moments... and that games with daily and weekly rewards do make me spiral when im feeling bad. I am grateful that at the very least it isnt "the more time passes the better/more the awards" bc that always leads me to feeling like shit for not continuing the loggins bc now i'll miss out the best rewards at the end of the month, but this still feels awful. At one point when i was at my lowest and also playing genshin, i wasn't able to play for a couple weeks at all, not even log in log out sort of thing bc i was almost catatonic, and after i got a tiny bit better but i was still deeply depressed? i felt like shit bc i relied on the game to help me feel better to the point that when i "failed" at the game it made me spiral, and i'm much better now, i'll be fine, and the code of thes thing will keep in the game and i'm 100% sure 'ill be able to access it through... cheats and other not 1000% legal stuff but i don't mind, i managed to get other time locked stuff like the early purchase reward and this will be the same. I know i won't care if i miss a reward, but i worry for anyone in a dark place like i was that relies on the emotional simplicity of the sims to get through rough times that might feel anywhere near to what i felt. I don't like this, at all

This will flop. The way they overhyped this feature is laughable too. This isn't for the customers benefit, it's just a testing ground for Sims 5 and them seeing what else they can get away with
I love a good yin video, personally I’ll see it when I see it when it gets fixed but my expectations are very minimal. I don’t think I’ve open this game in months
These rewards are literally recolored items we have already. Darts with get together. That moon necklace is a cross between the key one from paranormal and werewolves. The hair is ombre in another pack. The fridge and bin from discover uni. Seems to me IF they want play interest maybe they should give us NEW items that aren't in game already.

I play once in a while. I really was into playing in 2020 cause you know couldnt go no where but now when i log in its just boring. The most exciting thing i found with the Sims 4 was when i brought Strangerville with the amount of content it had and a story line but thats it
I played that game almost every day of my life for 20 years, now I haven't even thought about it in months and don't miss it at all. Maybe I just grew out of it, but I know I needed no incentive to play it when the game was good. It seems like they are desperate to get people to play now... wonder what they'll be like when the competition lauches their games

What happened to scenarios, whims, wants and fears, refreshes, updating half of the features at a time (bunk beds needed two updates for them to work), the first time events (egg hunt, day of the dead sugar skulls, the bean event, the Millie Bobby Brown event, sentiments (kind of) Idk why these things are not updated as well😂😂😂
Just over the sims. It’s sad too. Cause it’s my franchise. But this is just not it and everything is broken and they just keep adding more things to it that keep breaking it further. I was already over EA for a while but them killing my favorite franchise is low key unforgivable lol.
The only really “exciting” rewards for me will be new traits, I think that one makes sense for base game because everybody doesn’t use Mods (I’m console) and it makes gameplay interesting. Also more realistic hair might also be a beneficial reward.
I'm fine with it as long as it remains free, and I don't see a problem on them trying to get logins - its their game, their job. There is already a lot of stuff to buy, so freebies can come my way anytime.
I was about to do the login rewards and buy the kits, but due to the Items Removed message bug popping up again, I have decided to force an embargo on Electronic Arts. And I'm on the Xbox Series X! And not to mention that Andrew Wilson is getting money hungry by introducing the concept of ads in the middle of a $70 game, I'm posing a sanction on EA in General. Even worse, Their stock value is currently up at the time of posting this comment. Another reason why EA is getting too greedy. I sure hope my PC is capable of playing Paralives or Life by You, because I am tired of EA's corporate BS.
I know as an elder millennial that im not their target audiende anymore, but I feel some kind of way that they don't email or hype up stuff in some other way than social media. I never know whats coming until I see it on RU-vid. Im not logging in to get this stuff bc its clearly just a push to get their user counts per day up to justify future microcharge pushes
This is so gross.. I stopped playing for a while cause I get sick of the game if I play it too much and tbh this kills any motivation I had to go back. I'll probably just play The Sims 3 or try to get my hands on The Sims 2 if I wanna play something like this
I personally couldn’t give a shit about daily rewards. I prefer cc over anything EA makes so it’s just not for me. I do think it’s a useless feature but good for players to be able to get free content. I do think it’s a little entitled for some people to complain about not being able to log in everyday so they can win the items.
i know it’s free content but i don’t like this😭 it’s normal for companies to test new features with their customer base but it just feels like they’re easing us into mobile gaming even on PC. it’s free, paid dlc, daily login rewards, in ad games?! it’s too much. and how are they even gonna test if this flops or not? it also bugs me that many people can’t even play their game consistently because it’s so broken, how r they gonna get their rewards? idk
If I wanted a mobile game or multiplayer game I would go find it. EA stop trying to make The Sims a mobile and/or multiplayer game. This isn't it, they had the road map from past game versions. All they had to do was follow it.
Honestly this log in rewards is simply just a ploy to get people logging in, as if 85 million players and millions of playing hours is not enough for our beloved CEO. Sure it's free stuff, but it is really dodgy of them to put in barriers and conditions instead of just giving them out like in a SDX drop.

I'm fed up with life sims in general. Lets just say Will Wright was the only one who could do it. I have a problem with every single one of these games, some for tiny annoying reasons others for major reasons, but i hate that i'm not excited for any of them. I'm sick of all the characters always looking the same and the only difference is hair and skin color. I hate how they don't prioritize making the games more dynamic for the fans while favoring social politics, not making the game worlds fully fleshed out and feeling lacking and one dimensional. I can't stand how they release their games before they're finished revealing copious amounts of bugs and glitches, the game straight up being unfinished and then how they don't even bother fixing it because they already made their money..... I despise how the fans allow them to do all that while yelling at each other to accept it because somehow we should all be grateful for it. I hate how despite the year going into 2025, these games are far less detailed, imaginative, or passionate than the games of the past who's only problems then was technology limitations. And i'm sick of all these games feeling like they hired people who don't deserve their jobs to make these games, like they're just placed in their position rather than actually deserving that position because it shows in the games. Like are they a dev because they're qualified, have experience, and talented, or did they get the job for some other superficial reason that has nothing at all to do with making video games? I'm fucking over it.
A singleplayer game should not have missable daily rewards. These should have been SDX drops. istg if the game continues down this weird MMO without the MMO road, I'm unistalling. It's just makes 0 sense.
They are relying om Fomo tactics to get people to play the game and most of these items are not even worth it they are mostly just recolors or stuff from other packs when it comes to The Sims 4 there are some nice new features and I do like the presentation and build mode a lot but for every good thing I can name for The Sims 4 I can name at least 4 bad stuff thankfully the modding community is a blessing to this game And also daily rewards are dumb I know they give you a very large amount of time to complete it but still The Sims is not a game that most people just grind every single day it is a game where if you feel like it you would play it if not then you would not

I just wish they go back and update sims 2, sims 3. I will play sims 4 but it's not my favorite. Seems every year it's getting worse and worse with sims 4. I don't have any faith anymore. I will probably not play project rene if it still an ongoing project they are doing. I think this is the end for me for the series. I will forever play all the old games until they no longer supported or gone for good.
It's also to impress customers, not shove what you believe they should want.... And don't use that "it's a business" when they sell unfinished garbage while calling it a video game.
